Shoot them from cover when their shot is on cooldown, there is a rhythm to it, like most other snipers in the game. Or rush them if your build is appropriate for it

I suspect it's related to group loot feed. If you notice, it's usually one soubgroup that goes red. And you only see loot of your sub group. So probably there are specific bugged languages (for whatever reason loot is displayed in a language that player getting loot uses).

having the 'answer the call' matchmaking active can be a wild ride, at any point you can be suddenly yanked into anything from a story mode DUA run to a leggy zoo with all directives

One thing that's worth noting, is that if you "call for backup", it only puts a single call out. You can get lucky and have multiple people answer it, but otherwise what you ahve to do in order to get more teammates, is to "call for backup" again, until you hit the team cap of 4 in total.

basically what it gives is a small number on their screen, and a patch during a Season. No real benefit, it's mostly for the fun of helping out.
