Oh I do the same thing. Whenever a player asks the group if they needed an exotic that just dropped after a mission, I always say that I need it cause I’m missing the one last exotic piece that I couldn’t find. This always works as they just dropped after and give it to me even though I’m over 10k SHD. I then quickly dismantle the exotic for more resources.

No, it's not. It was advertised like that. Your lowest roll is the max roll of non-proto gear.

But that only applies to upgraded pieces, not drops.

Drops have better rolls than non-proto stats.

so every time i get a patch it gets equipped. in one part of the screen it says press x to accept. in a different part it says press x to equip

At only 4,925 Regen per second, it would've taken you 152 seconds to Regen back to full. What would've been more efficient is throwing nimbler holster onto the build and using cover to cover. Enemies hardly if ever shoot you by doing so and you'll repair 5% armor per 1m (3 feet) ran

It probably did help a little, but Nimble would've done the job and kept you safe

Dangerous how? The stats page gives an accurate total up to 60% for all your crit sources except coyotes and conditional talents. Once it's below 60% you just decide if you want to add some crit mods back but it's easy to calculate how much over cap it'll take you
