Priority Objective: strongholds. Chall/Heroic. The listed reward doesn't really matter, but Exotic gets you a free Exotic so
best way by far.

Just an FYI though: it's over at the end of this week, so you probably won't have the time to get to 100 if you're not already close.

Prototype gear is the new gear system that devs want to implement but, they made a mistake for releasing an unfinished beta for us players
It's basically a heavy RNG system for gear that, in the PTS, showed no Recalibration nor Optimization options whatsoever. It also showed a massive RNG thing for Augments which are exclusive of Proto gear.
There's a big pool for these Augments.

And they also did something a bit dumb by putting it behind two requirements that for lots of players is almost impossible to reach. Expertise 30 and fully optimized pieces. If you don't meet these requirements you cannot upgrade your gear to Proto.

They did say that Escalation, the new mode, will have chances of dropping Proto gear. But as I said earlier, it's a RNG heavy system. It's way worse than what we call Unicorns.

They're only farmable during global events, as toggling them on/off before the mission just fully resets it (to actually complete those missions you have to physically "depart". By toggling the events on and off, it'll prevent the mission from going on cooldown)

Loot drop rate per minute is off the charts compared to Countdown and Retal, but you also have to hope that Downtown East has the correct TL you want

The old version was kinda less worse, it was: you still get a specialization weapon ammo but every time you kill a npc you get 40% of weapon damage that lasts for 1 minute.

If you're farming it you can just run out of the area (head West, it'll fail just past the war memorial), then you can reactivate and turn back around. Quicker than running all the way back from Capitol

There was a dark period in my time in this game where I desparately tried to have an experience similar to D3-FNC in Div 1

The whole build is ninja bike backpack with as many gear sets for better armor regen and other bonuses like belstone armor on kill and then the emperors guard and 2 pieces of gilla
