Imo, if you don't want to grind yourself, ''use'' your clan/friends who already have the weapon. Prio objectives solo, pick the quickest/easy. Then join the group of your friends and maybe they will be lucky and share the item you want. Solo, it's going to be mentally challenging tbh.

The main issue for me is that Massive should make this weapon available, so they don't receive any negative backlash. Now, with the stretched goal, they gave a ''hope'' (futile imo) to some players which is worse. Just give it free or make it available via loot pool and satisfy the players. It's not that hard. No reason to gatekeeping a weapon or any item what so ever.

I play many looter shooters, and the devs most of a time, when they receive such a backlash, they just provide of what ppl want, it's a game, you are supposed to have fun, not get frustrated for such a reason. It's not the best weapon but it's limited and kinda out of content if you have missed it out. So it automatically makes the weapon desirable, let's say.

Myself for solo I like Big Horn Full tank Striker/Memento full hds dmg, for group Legendary/Mastery I prefer the Backfire Meta Build with the modifiers.

Armour plating like in warhounds and tanks actually counts as health, not armour. Damage to armour bonuses only count against the white armour segments you get on players and veteran/elite enemies.
(Exception is sledgehammer talent, counts against both regular armour and armour plating)

Oh the Manhunt is a thing yeah, just make sure that you're not specifically farming activities or SHD XP for this event.
you want to focus on Season XP, which once you've done the Manhunt/Journey stuff, the best overall farm is Priority Objectives that reward XP, missions/strongholds in particular.

Just run prio objectives , strongholds and missions that give 600+ season xp. And turn season modifiers on, iirc they increase the reward slightly
