the main core of gear is static, X brand will always have armor, Y brand always have weapon damage

umbra is a gear set that can be farmed normally, you can check targetted loot on the map for it

with all the different gear combinations currently in the game you don't really need to spec into hazard protection.
There are multiple ways to get around the backfire self-bleed effect....here are just a few

1. Run an all red striker build (Memento or Coyote mask or Centurion holster) but use a chest piece that has the protected reload talent.
   The bonus armor from this talent will get eaten by the backfire bleed.

2. Spec a bit into hazpro, health and armor on kill. The armor on kill mitigates the bleed damage and if somehow your armor gets depleted the extra health gives you time to recover

3. Use the Ninja exotic kneepads to bypass the bleed on reload; also gives you bonus armor which you can leverage with Intimidate talent on chest piece. Rest would be striker or whatever you prefer (ie Negotiator)

4. Use the new Nimble exotic holster which gives bonus armor. Same idea as #3 but may be more reliable as there's almost always cover somewhere nearby

5. Use the System Corruption gearset which gives bonus armor and bonus damage when using armor kit. Combined with Intimidate on chest and Memento, you basically have non stop bonus armor

6. The new fortified cover skill from the dlc has a variant that does automatic reload when swapping weapons, which bypasses the backfire bleed

I could go on...a lot of options

nimble doesn't give bonus armor, but it does heal if you go cover to cover a lot

hmm thought nimble did give bonus armor...let me reread the desc again, so easy to miss the details...oh right yeah it's armor repair.
I was thinking of combining it with the backpack Leadership talent but the armor heal would help mitigate the bleed

sometimes I just go lazy mode with Backfire and do something like Ninja backpack with 1 Ceska, 1 Cavalier, rest striker or negotiator

yeah it's all situational; matter of preference really. at times I've run backfire with an ordinary striker + memento build using that armor on kill brandset for the chest, no hazpro anywhere....fingers crossed that the combination of memento trophies + armor on kill keeps the bleed away.

I'm only just seeing this now, but at that low level, Call for Backup, Highlight the place/Mission you would like to go to, and understand you can use the map to Fast Travel to your teammates, so when you highlight a mission across the map, your Backup (at LVL40) will jump/Fast Travel to the missions and THAT will speed up your leveling.

The colored icons are part of tbe season modifier, go over the isac simbol in the inventory and turn it off and they will disappear

I got this hybrid build with striker + Momento. It does make challenging extremely easy. Ur basically immortal. On Heroic gotta play more cautiously. But hey. Clearing a level 3 outpost in half the time as on Heroic.

Stacking a fixer drone and that little healer hive ball that follows you around makes it super comfortable.

Messing around with builds is fun. Just wished the inventory system was easier to manage

it's not really, the best use case scenario was making OD gear set consistent, now the OD chestpiece got buffed to hell and buffs your damage by a lot more

the limited range for heal in ridgeways meant letting enemies alive on purpose at close range, which is kinda contradiction

If you play alone like me with a dps build, Turret and Drone are best options.

Place the Turret strategically high up so it can shoot the whole area, use the drone as extra attacker, keep pointing/ locking Turret and Drone while your shooting enemies.

Your a one man team but if you play it well your a 3 men team this way.

Even when i do matchmaking this is my standard build.

I change my skills depending on the mission.

Because some missions you need different skills for the best attack.

Someone here yesterday was saying how the hunters got soft with these new ones and after doing 5 now they were absolutely right. They all run and hide, almost never deploy skills, compared to the previous DC and NY ones who were pretty aggressive, and even the new Roosevelt ones that are extremely aggressive.
Heck I even had one run and hide from some cleaners. I remember fighting ones in dc near npcs and the hunter would get up in their faces if they attacked him

OD, Hunter's Fury and even Heartbreaker can get very close to Striker but with a lot more utility than Striker. for both team and solo. They just require different way of playing. Striker is just liked by a lot of people because it's super easy to get the damage by just shooting.

As @jagged prism mentioned, most of the general pool exotic you can get blueprints from inaya when you get them first time.. there are a few exotics you will get by doing projects (think quests), capacitor is part of the Summit challenges, so you will get it by completing 5 Challenges in Summit.. then you can go to Inaya and buy the blueprint when you get it or it will be automatically added to your library.. can't remember right now.

what do you mean universal? If you mean easiest to use, yes.. You can get 110% multiplicative damage from Heartbreaker to pulsed enemies with chest piece in the set. So not only you get TONS of damage but you will also make everything hit 15% harder damage wise who plays with you and generate armor for yourself AND with other synergies can apply status effects and other things (last season being an example or with Bluescreen)..Striker simply can't do that. There are sets that simply have utility that far outweight 10%-20% increased damage by simply shooting at bodies. When you play harder content this becomes VERY obvious.

expertise is the longest part of the game. you're basically A:wearing the pieces gaining experience in it until it hits 10 and it become Proficient (shield with star in center) then you swap to other pieces, B: set target loot in countdown per se then you loot everything and donate it until proficient or C: worse way now a days but donating the materials you've obtained through looting boxes or using your scavenging points

weekly projects gives exotic caches, priority objectives gives exotics, people tend to try and keep them in strongholds mostly
when global events happens you can spend those currency on caches

it's called recalibrating the exotic.. it basically recreates it with mats, money and you need the blueprint and 1 exotic component.. it rebuilds it and give you the randomized values for core attributes on the exotic and the random additional attribute.

you kind of remember the value you need it to drop at the higher value i.e. Weapon Damage at 13.9% in order to only require one optimization to 15%.. so you try to get those.. sometimes there are no choices so you might get like 4.8% CHC and 11.8% CHD with 128k Armor on Palisade Chest for example.. that's like "thank you god" scenario if you get it.

I just made a demolisher/tank striker setup for this season where i needed Striker to drop with Haz pro so I can change the red core to blue one on all striker gear. And I needed Yaahl chest with CHC/Haz Pro so I can change the talent. Wait until you have a build that requires even rarer pieces like Yaahl that are only farmable in DZ or PVP and hope that clan vendor or any vendor has Yaahl anything so you can buy it and then crush it for mats so you can craft what you need. You are worried about optimization.. THIS is the real end game 🙂

I'm using memento as well.. so I can't use 2 Ceska. 6 Haz Pros (including Yaahl chest) is 60% hazpro, then passive seasonal gives you 40% on blue tier 5 and you are indestructable basically. hunters, rogues, fire, anything..

The build i'm running now is backfire (around 350-400% CHD), 60% CHC at base - 90-100% when active modifiers is active, 2m armor, 5m Shield, 100% haz pro, regen armor and damage from memento and intimidate on chest piece (I switch between Obliterate and Intimidate but I feel intimidate is far stronger and since the game still for some reason gives you blue 1 sliver bonus armor you never really lose Intimidate once memento kicks in on 1 trophy).. it's incredible actually

no.. you run gunner.. 10% armor on kill in addition to everything else and rate of fire and reload and all that.. you don't need firewall you have 6 blue cores and 1 yellow core.. your shield is TANK with 80% regen and 5m+ health. I run reviver + shield but you can run whatever you want aside from shield. Since you use gunner you could use Banshee for nice disorient and then just run into everything and mop them all up with no pain.
Don't forget Yaal you want ideally attributes CHC or CHD, Haz Pro.. you can put the mod if you get CHD/Haz or CHC/Haz.. so you can imprint Obliterate or Intimidate (whatever you feel works best for you)

I've seen a very intersting build from someone the other day.. even though catalyst is bugged.. the potential with backfire inflicting bleed on yourself will buff you damage wise with catalyst.. with hunter fury or OD it makes the whole synergy SHINE. You still get some haz pro like 40-50% to mitigate Backfire but you still want it to apply the bleed to you so Catalyst stacks damage and armor.

you mean pahkan or however it's spelled; I think it's okay...the base dmg is good but not great...
I tested it with an ordinary Memento striker build; it's fun once you get the stacks which turns it into a pseudo box mag lmg.
Compared to the other exotic lmgs though, I'd rather use bluescreen, iron lung or pestilence as you don't need to get a kill to get the most out of it.

#td2-build-advice has a pin to a spreadsheet with all the named items and how they're dropped LZ = Light zone (pve area), DZ= Dark Zone (pvp area)

dz stuff do drop in conflict caches so it's an option if you don't want to go the dark zone route
