@rugged copper In Countdown (CD) specifically: the loot itself is basically identical.
You'll get slightly higher overall rolls in Heroic, but the difference is very slight in CD.
The main difference between the two difficulties is the amount of tokens that you get, but either way you'll be able to afford loads of caches from the CD Vendor, and Challenging is a lot easier/faster with random players.

tl;dr Go for Heroic in a group, Chall' with randoms.

it's a game mode on top right of the whole map.. where yellow Manhunt is next to it is a green countdown icon.. it's a single mission that is on a timer 20 mins or so.. you complete tasks and extract.. you'll get countdown credits AND tons of loot..

Summit is also a good one.. people say put AR on it.. grind it on normal to floor 90 and then switch it to challenging or heroic if you can do it and kill 3 bosses but leave a couple of enemis around.. wipe and repeat.

I liked Countdown just because it's more fun than wiping a floor in Summit 🙂

Host is just party lead, you are on a seperate server, not the host's machine. This is what some of the xp farms run servers for everyone. If you are having laggy experience, you should look into your connection. Reboot, maybe trace route to some random servers to see if you have high latency

I'm guessing but one reason is probably because the descent character isn't your normal character, the game actually creates a new character for you every time you do a run, then deletes it after the run is over, so adding a checkpoint to that would require some redesigning. Unfortunately, devs are focused on other things currently.

My personal thoughts, it has been around half a decade by this point. Just make the EB part of the loot pool.

I think the majority of people who really seek it out are probably going for the completionist aspect of having all exotics, more than they're trying to use it for a build.

Ali, I started Div 2 a couple of weeks ago.. just go through the missions and get to 40.. the whole game opens up then for you. Just enjoy the ride, it's actually pretty enjoyable going through it and slowly ramping up and exploring functionality of the game. As a new player to Div 2 I just took my time to explore the world, do missions and side missions and follow as the game guides you..

No.. you won't be getting any exotics until after you reach 40 unless you are super lucky.. but even if you do, you wont' be able to use them until you are 40.. your journey to 40 will be mostly learning.. don't worry too much about the gear as it is all throwaway gear.. the point of it is for you to see what talents are eventually, how attributes and gear sets work and similar.. that's the really what you should look into to get stronger. Keep your materials and stuff and just put higher gear and remember sets that suit your gameplay.

when I was leveling up from 1 to 40, I went in with the similar mindset but you realize it really doesn't matter because you will be leveling up and eventually your true final builds will come once you reach 40 anything before that is really not meant to be anything permanent

Yeah that's what I realised. I got some top gear from UBI pack and crates and I can't use them haha. But I also read that I should keep it in my inventory because crate drops are based on the highest level of item in your inventory

it's ok.. my advice is unlock all the stuff you can with missions and side missions, do classified missions too (you will see they are blue compass looking icons on the map eventually).. you can fast travel to them.. same with control points etc.. it will make it easier for you to move around. Also, take mental note of main missions, where they are, where everything is on the map as those missions will be usually repetitive activities after you reach 40 so it's handy to remember where they are.

Also, work on projects, don't neglect them. Each settlement will have projects. Completing projects will unlock attachements for your weapons with blueprints and also unlock weapons to craft. This comes handy when you want to craft a better stronger level version of a gun you like to use.

Completing projects also allows you to upgrade your crafting bench faster. This is very beneficial because by the end, when you reach 40 you want to have that bench upgraded to high-end so you can reconfigure exotics etc.

the best part for me was that you are kind of doing these missions and leveling up right? it's on "story" difficulty but once you hit 40 and you complete the final strongholds projects (Tidal Basin) the city becomes an actual fighting grounds between factions. I was taken back how much more intense and action packed city becomes.. you'll see 🙂

drones flying everywhere, fighting on almost every corner, factions invading control points and fighting over them and as you keep going in difficulty from normal, to hard, to challenging to heroic, it just gets more and more hectic. It's super freakin' fun

and that's just open world 🙂

you should try them all but my recommendation after you've tried them and leveled them up with SHD cache points is to use hive/reviver and shield/the one you shoot through.. it will make your life a lot easier overall

the skills are honestly the weakest point of the game.. they are ok, but they are wonky sometimes with the targeting system etc..

hive/reviver will revive you every 120 seconds if you go down and shield will give you moving cover while you can still shoot..

but definitely try all skills.. you might be totally into them and make skill builds you never know

I've had veteran players jump in and help me on missions and some of them were rocking all skill builds really..

I assume you mean Armor and not the shield skill. Gear has a base Armor score (seen under the gear rarity in the header). Gear comes in three core: Damage (red cross hair), Skill (yellow battery), and Armor (blue shield).

Items that come with an Armor core increase armor, however the amount of Armor is random (within a range). It's entirely possible for someone with three Armor cores to have higher Armor than someone with 6 just due to this rng.

You also have gear set and brand sets that can increase Armor as well. So you have to look at all gear to get an understanding of where stuff is coming from.

I honestly think that the ultimate abilities of Division 1 are better than the signature weapons of Division 2. I rarely use my signature weapon but I remember using my ultimate ability all the time.
