We were anticipating it's release in June of 2024.. which is technically when the current season ends so if things were to go to that plan.. that cutscene would have continued into the dlc story. I assume it still will but with that being said, how do they pad the story between now and next year.

I don't think they did.. at least not in the capacity of division 2. Perhaps if they got the chance with a division 3 they would have continued the story.. and since they knew when the dlc was launched that season 4 was "the end" and going off what was said between the lead writer and creative director they seem to have sat down multiple times to decide what way they wanted the story to go following the reboot of the game...
I imagine they had a general idea.. but if you look at it all in the grand scheme of things.. the season surrounding the civilian rescues has still proven to be one of the biggest waste yet.

I'd say it's up there, ran it on Heroic 4D, full red striker, had 2 deaths both in the final encounter (which was wild, prepare) and a few close calls. You get swamped/overwhelmed a lot in this mission, which really amped up the difficulty. Wish a lot more missions were as intense

I think it's more due to the fact that the story is going really slow. Especially when we have to wait weeks on end for barley any story progression. Warlords was great for story progression and then it slowed down a huge amount in seasons 1-4. 9 was a good story season. 10 was slow. 11 was good, and every season after has been lackluster, and with Brooklyn being pushed until 2025 I don't think a lot of people are going to have the patience to see the interesting parts of the story have to be put off for so long and may just tap out.
It's good to have a long overarching story but if most of what you're telling isn't interesting and feels like filler, I can't blame people for disliking the story.
At least that's what I've personally gotten from the community.

Strikers is basically DPS meta. Just farm for that and you're good to go.
The only thing that really beats it is headhunters fury with regulus. Strikers being the DPS meta because of its damage and overall ease of use.
