first boss: kill the shields and then the boss, some people one shit the shields with sweet dreams
second boss: coordinate bunch of panels and kill heavies until you can just use water cannon to destroy stuff then kill boss
third boss: constantly go around pushing abunch of lever and switch that regulate pressure while hitting boss
last boss: mix of using bazookas and other stuff to detroy parts of the train so boss gets mad and comes out, run under the train get behind someone with a shield to survive jet fighter turret, repeat until both train and boss is dead

In shooters to not make bullet sponges you either go the route of puzzle bosses with multiple damage steps or bulletsponges

Generic boss battles that are just enemy is hiding behind super cover then you have to shoot random explosive that is above him to force rocks/Chandelier fall on top of him and repeat three times

Just curious what does the general community think about events like polarity switch, reanimated, etc. in terms of time spent/ vs rewards?

Like I've spent hours collecting polarity switch stars only to turn them in for exotic caches only to get garbage exotics and garbage rolls on them

I feel like my time would have better been spent just grinding Countdown for exotic chaches, for example

With the buffs added to them since Project Resolve's launch, there's quite a lot more of a reason to do them now than ever before.
Honestly, the free "stars" you get per level up whilst it's active is worth it alone.

They're no matter what worth to have active, as you could mostly just play like you normally do and get a bunch of stars to use on different caches - it's just extra stuff, who doesn't like that?
As far as the specific challenges goes? They're sometimes better than others. I rarely do them all, but do those that I would naturally do anyways.

You don't play a global event to farm exotics - you play global events as they change up the playstyle, usually gives a pretty nifty bonus to damage and any reward is extra.

Yea I definitely see the value in getting a star each level. I've been avoiding doing the daunting or annoying tasks that get you extra stars like killing 10 positive polarity Black Tusks with grenades, and other slog tasks like that. But as for the star per level sometimes I feel like having to do extra things like reload when you don't need to to switch my polarity and strategically pick which enemies to kill and when, and little things like that add to the time it takes to complete missions.Maybe it's not much or maybe I'm wrong and it doesnt add any time at all but it definitely feels that way. Or like reanimated you have to kill extra enemies/shoot them on the ground before they are about to get up or what have you.

Reanimated and Polarity is busted with HH builds btw. Especially if you run Determined.
HH with polarity, you can just ignore the mechanic (except for first shot)
Reanimated - well it's based on headshots.

Ignore the annoying tasks or - if you're bored and wanted to chill like me yesterday, pop it down to normal, equip your fun, odd gear and do them.

Polarity: Use two weapons, polarity switches on weapon swap (aswell as reload, and every enemy changes polarity if you melee them, but it's not really feasible on heroic)

I also just got back into the game and am still trying to get my builds going, so maybe it's different for me because I feel like I'm still trying make builds and deciding whether to just fixate on that or throw these seasonal things into the mix. I just feel like there is a million things going on haha. If I had like 4 or 5 perfect builds it probably wouldn't be an issue. I would just flip the seasonal Event on and run through everything without having to worry about what gear I need at the same time

Easiest way to get a specific exotic:

Randoms or friends, it doesn't matter

If Lincoln does not have the right targeted loot, farm open world targeted loot instead.
Pick your favourite Heroic CP4 in the area.

Farm this Heroic CP4 with as few people as you can manage. (this lets you clear faster and kill Named enemies
more often)
If you have friends who will drop the exotic for you, farm it with them.

Every time you clear the CP4, reset all control points to hostile to do it again immediately.
Every time you reset, immediately call for nearby allies so that you are able to respawn on them."``` (Grouping only speeds up the proces, but can be ignored)

I'm not personally a fan of summit for actual farming specific gear, I do summit when I just wanna clear the 15 floors not thinking about it.
However you can very quickly get good gear (and exotics) by farming Floor 10 boss clears (I don't know the method, just know you can reset it by death or something). Heroic/Legendary, as many directives as you can, Floor 10 on repeat.

Not much is known about DIAMOND, but it doesn't have operational command according to the comms. It's more tactical, control the warhounds, all that jam, but nothing like ISAC giving orders.

Actually a little tip for speed is to have your first Exotic in armour+weapons marked as a "favourite", that way you can't accidentally delete anything you want to keep and it'll just mark the new stuff.

It depends on the item and how much your willing to farm, as well as how many resources you've got to spend. Getting a good chest or backpack with the right rolls and talent are rare, so those are absolutely worth optimizing. Other things like any gearset pieces are very easy to get maxed out without any optimizing

Your equipped gun has a charge (yellow or blue), you shoot an enemy that has the same colour as you and it does extra damage, swap guns/reload to change the polarity.
melee them to change all polarities on enemies within a radius.
Using the wrong polarity on an enemy does WAY less damage, like, bugger all.

Basically yeah. Higher difficulty gives you a better "worst possible roll", so your stats will be overall better (on average) on Heroic than Challenging.
