There are tank builds in the spread sheet but they are mostly used in the IH raid that have lots of armor regen. If you want armor go for armor on kill from gunner, or use memento in solo play, maybe Hunter fury. Otherwise it's a bleh stat.

It's no different than how certain commendations/collectibles have a sorta easter egg hunt. I don't have the time or desire to go after those things but I'd love to be at 100%. But I'm okay w/ not having them so that people who are into the completionist grind have something fun to shoot for.

I find that the incursion does pretty well in that regard. A healer is required at certain points. And IMO oxi is the best way to clear the first stage.

It's no different imo from a weapon or a gear set being region-locked, some loot being behind an activity that certain types of folks simply can't bring themselves to have the courage to do is a hard no from me and I wish that trope was removed from every single game

I absolutely love Ouro, it's the best gun I've ever used in this game but if I didn't have it, I would've honestly grinded for months to get this thing. Think of it this way: everything in this game is virtual, right? Nothing has an intrinsic value because it's all just pictures on a screen. The way you give something value is to lock it behind some barrier so that it feels "earned". Right now that value is having done incursion with a group. Even someone dropped it for you, you did the incursion with others and that's sorta the point. If there was a way to earn it by other means then the special value of the item would be lost.

Raids are the same way. If you have a Regulus then you most likely have gone through multiple IH raids to get it (it's a bit of a grind).

The other thing is that D2 is inherently a social game. This game would be dead without the social aspects.

There can be an equivalent level of difficulty in the game that doesn't involve putting yourself through half an hour every week of listening to someone dropping slurs in between encounters. I don't think 'more people = more encounters = more communication = rewards earned' is the only way it should be approached

The first one was ruined by an Australian with a massive temper issue, the clear was spent watching Martinez go down with homophobic slurs in my ears. There isn't really a luxury so much of who you can choose to play with, this isn't the most popular game anymore and that's going to get worse as time goes on

What I did was find a community that was willing teach noobies. Pretty much every raid they do is a walkthrough of sorts and, while there is pressure to not mess up, everyone is very understanding especially if someone is FTC.

If I even caught a whiff of someone being a jerk I'd be out.

Lol too bad Kdoom's method isn't exactly correct. He's suggesting players to use a Hunter Fury build and farm public executions at Heroic 4-Directives... which takes about 60s to complete and yields 460k XP.

Use an Ongoing Directive build to get unlimited ammo. Farm the same thing but on Challenging 5-D, get 420k XP and complete it in 30s. Easier to do, less chance at dying, and practice moving/killing fast.

if you think about it right, 70% protection means you are effectively 1 / (1 - 0.7) = 3.33 times tankier than normal, while 75% protection means you are 1 / (1 - 0.75) = 4.

4 / 3.33 = 1.2, meaning you are 20% tankier with 75% protection than with 70%, and 20% is really noticeable

Start out as DPS. Healer is (imo) by a country mile the most important role in the whole thing. One fairly crappy DPS won't kill the run, one fairly crappy healer will end it before it's started

%'s in div2 are best seen as the inverse, so instead of looking it as a 1% drop, think of it as a 99% chance to not drop.
same goes for crit chance. 40% chance to do nothing at the cap, which is why crit stats aren't useful on MMR's.
