Watch leveling is usually fastest doing open world content with as many directives as you can handle. There are some directives that are no brainers like hiding the minimap, no armor regen, and special ammo. Pay close attention to special events like reanimated and golden bullet b/c they make open world easier with the right build.

But before doing that I'd suggest working on a DPS build so you can do heroic content with ease by yourself. Striker is one of the easiest builds to put together, see the build spreadsheet pinned in #td2-build-advice.

It doesn't have to be min/max'd. Just have the right pieces and attributes and you're good.

When your SHD level is low the group leader will either kick you or inspect your build and kick you after that. Or people will leave after seeing your level and/or inspecting your build.

The best thing you can do for now is to make sure you are running a proper build for Countdown. Striker with Ceska and Grupo for example.

Then join Challenging countdown and hope people don't leave pretty much.

I was in your shoes and didn't have that many problems because, I think, I researched builds ahead of time and made one for countdown.

And for now stick to Challenging. Don't do difficulties lower or higher than that.

You may want to think about raising the difficulty to Challenging.
Hard difficulty still lets enemies drop purples, which are 100% worthless post Lvl 40.

gold, exotics, and gearsets. That's all they can drop when on Challenging and up.

btw Challenging's name is a bit misdirecting. It's kinda the "low end" of endgame play. Most players actually move to Heroic before too long.

If you throw it out before any enemies have seen you, they'll go for it until you start shooting them (and even then, only the ones you damage will switch targets). White tusk can be an exception there though

it has range you can see and generates threat, if they are outside of the skill range and you create more threat than it then the enemies will aim at you

works great for snipers that just go for one shot kills

if you are rolling around max DPS crits then it's less effective
