You mean the Kingbreaker? And no, you have to manually apply expertise upgrades to the particular weapon itself.

I mean... I think the design works just fine. You should have to invest into the particular Kingbreaker that you consider a good roll via Optimizations, Expertise upggrades and Recalibration. Giving players a lazy and easy +x% expertise buff to all weapons of that type would be a bit too easy for a looter shooter wouldn't it? Gotta make the endgame grindy somehow

Yeah, but that's the point. Expertise isn't something you just casually slap onto any weapon, it's an indicator that this weapon is one you're gonna use for a long time and you're investing in it long term via optimizing, re-calibrating and expertise upgrades because you believe in its potential.
Example: I get a Vector with Flatline Talent. It's the exact talent I want, and I know the two core rolls will always be the same attribute of SMG Damage and Crit Chance, so I can now re-calibrate the side attribute to whatever I want, in other words it has the potential to be the perfect maxed piece. Now that's a gun I'd start putting expertise upgrades, optimizations and all onto.

Expertise is just a gimmick, i wouldn't add any more incentivized effects to encourage making it something to chase after relentlessly. People with FOMO will feel terrible, and people that never cared will just laugh.

If you have breakpoint then you get 4 things free from the div1 and 2

There's really not much to do. First you should get to world tier 5 if you're not already there. There are daily and weekly projects, weekly bounties, weekly invaded missions, farm control points etc.
