The only potentially useful purpose is if you are planning to run the 0-30 story again in the future (eg with a hardcore character), as soon as you unlock the recalibration bench you can use your existing level 30 library to put strong stats on your gear, gives you a bit of a power up for the next few levels.

An exotic received in world tier 5 counts as level 30 but once you reach world tiers its a world tier 5 gear score.

Essentially what this means is a diamondback from wt5 will 1 shot most things from world tier 1-4.

I'm not talking about level 40 exotics, which is where you'll get countdown from.

I have a level 30 world tier 5 character I never took to DC, collect exotic caches on it from the weekly exotic project and fill my inventory... if the inventory is full and it goes to mailbox then hard-core character can access it and use from level 30 to level 40

For reference world tier 4 diamondback does not hold up well on elites and tanks in world tier 5...

Its ability to say 2 shot a normal enemy is null in world tier 5 and the 1 crit hit shot from the marker becomes a 2 shot

I used diamondback in world tier 4 through world tier and was confused why it was drained of damage until I learned of reconfiguration and world tier basically meaning level up

Depends what you’re looking for

South has closer extraction points for triggering 2 extraction points and the landmarks are close, just its elevations are weird so you’re gonna be doing a lot of climbing

I personally like west, lots of landmarks and spread out enough that extractions can be done without interference if you hide

Dz east is just chaotic cause it’s so spread out

Well I’d recommend you do countdown, it is really easy and gives a ton of loot. Way more than the summit. It also gives currency which can be used to buy exotic caches and named item caches. Now some people don’t like low levels being there despite the fact that shd level doesn’t equal skill and the fact that countdown is just really easy. One of the best things about countdown is how you can select targeted loot just like summit. Do it on challenging with a match made group and you’re good to go

you could just copy a decent build off of the spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice and just play around with that and do almost everything in the game,
and if you feel the need to learn more, then you just learn it part by part, its a lot as a whole, but in chunks it goes pretty naturally as you play around with builds and content

Yea, the world for TD2 would be an awesome tactical shooter.

for xp farming, most do it on heroic with 4/5 directives, depending on what that season directives are, but starting out you wont have the builds for that unless you are getting carried by others, best to farm up a build first and then try at challenging with a few directives and work up from there,
but also that is xp farming and dont do it to the points of burning yourself out, its faster than just playing, but just playing is allot more fun.

if you have made it to the world tiers, its not much further to do the world tiers before going to WONY, it is against a new faction and has some lore and story if you care about those, also using the boost to go to wony before you reach WT5, will lock you out of some achievements and having a full collections set if you care about those. also if you really want to boost, make a second char and boost that one and save that char you have now to maybe come back to, it will give the same result but with options.

You don’t do it just for blueprints. You farm targeted loot on heroic as well so you can get some good pieces. Or parts for your dodge city holster. Or potentially rogue agents. Or maybe some exotic components. Lots of reasons.
