if you're not level 40, but you are in the 'endgame' (eg not still progressing through the story) then you need to travel to NY to start the DLC story, once you finish that you'll be able to come back and start the new endgame activities like countdown

Question: What should my "Current Bench Power" be for an agent in WT 5 @ LVL 30? Currently it shows SCORE 475-505. If I go to the world map it shows "World Tier 5 [ 450-515 ]".

Gear score of Word tier 5 is a different system from the other tiers. the score for World tier 5 is just telling you how the item stat bars rolled. 515 score = fully max for all stat bars.
so bench caps at 505 score (like ~80% stat bars).
the gear score system is bad tbh, and gets removed with the DLC any ways.

it would force people into legendary which is against the dev's design philosophy. Legendary difficulty is purposefully cranked to a bit of an unreasonable degree which requires good builds and cooperation. Legendary has very little benefit compared to heroic is so that people don't feel forced to go into legendary to the get the best rewards for the game. It is there solely for the people who like to challenge themselves.

Factions do play a role in it, yes. You can still get exotics outside of the faction you're fighting, but it's exceptionally rarer.
I've only once gotten a Tardigrade outside of True Sons from Outcasts and a Sweet Dreams from Hyenas. Exotics that are faction neutral will drop about the same rate regardless of who you're fighting.
Chameleon is a good example. Has a relatively high drop rate from Bounties, regardless of what faction the bounty itself is.
This is also why you want to avoid farming targeted loot from enemies that may drop exotics you don't really need.
Like Outcasts. If you still need to get Scorpio, farming shotgun loot from outcasts is worse than farming shotgun loot from another faction, as odds are you'll probably get like five or six Sweetdreams before you actually get Scorpio.

the tl;dr is that it makes your stuff prettier, but in div2 it's a toss-up whether DX11 or DX12 will be better for you, so try both.

if you've a high shd level you can use alt characters to donate scavenging points to expertise
currently that's the only way I'm aware of. Expertise is supposed to be a long, long grind though, and the benefits at the end aren't actually that big. Just use it as a reason to play with different guns, gear types, skills etc.

Depends on the rest of the build. Generally, improvised pieces are only worth running when you're stacking an effect you can only get from gear mods, such as protection from elites or bleed resist or something

Base materials is raid only. Bulwark and FI Chest and backpack can now be farmed in places other than just the raid I believe. That used to be raid only.

@fickle edge Basically all weapons in div2 are viable, there is no single best Talent either. You put your build together, then pick the best one that you like for the job.
e.g. Flatline is terrible on a build that doesn't use the Technician Spec Tree for the free pulse, and on guns that can't have that specific rail attachment.

Well... there's 5 categories. Only one of them will give you resources. You make 1 full rotation every 5 levels. So do the math. 750/5. That's 150 Scavenger points.

Well, i don't particularly encounter bugs very often, but it may be different for the console version
I do encounter a bunch of funny room generation bugs but nothing that affects gameplay, just doorframes clipping into doors funny or being too small for the doors they hold, or ammo boxes spawning inside of furniture but still being openable

Yep, when you start the DLC you can pass from Lvl 30 to 31, once you finish the DLC campaign you are Lvl 40.

Expertise is the replacement system for actually increasing the Lvl cap, that much is pretty clear.

1: have a high shd level (ideally over 2000)
2: create an alt character, boost to wony and run through the campaign as fast as possible
3: after killing Keener and unlocking your watch, you now have all the shd points of your main, but unspent - spend the scavenging points on whatever you want
4: buy the 'account shared resources' blueprint from Inaya
5: delete the new character and repeat as necessary
that said, you shouldn't really be burning through loads of optimisation resources: it's often better to just farm for better items, and slightly-under-max gear won't give you any significant disadvantage. Optimisation should be saved for gear which is in every other way perfect, and you know you'll be using in the long term.

Yes, but gear score is really irrelevant. You can max out a 510 piece the same as a 515 piece
