Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can give me a definitive fix for this because I'm out of ideas. Ever since the new graphics update for The Division 2, I've been experiencing massive issues with excessive lighting and extremely thick fog.

During the day, the sun glare is absolutely blinding. At night or during rainstorms, the game becomes super dark, and the fog gets so thick that I can't see anything. I've attached some screenshots so you can see what I mean, my character is just a silhouette, the fog is an impenetrable wall, and artificial lights just create a massive blinding glare through it.

In a shooter where aiming and hitting targets is the most important thing, it's become absurdly difficult and frustrating to play when you literally can't see the enemies.

Here is what I've already tried:

Tested all in-game presets (from all Low to all Ultra).

Disabled all cinematic/post-processing effects.

Toggled Neutral Lighting ON and OFF (neither fixed the extreme darkness or the artifacts).

Even tried making tweaks directly in the graphic settings.ini files.

Despite all of this, the issues persist. Has anyone figured out how to completely fix or remove this excessive fog and blinding glare?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yea it lets me play the mission regularly, just never allows me to start the manhunts because it gives those 2 locks
(I have tried restarting the game too)

When I turn one to regular it turns the other to regular as well, same for turning them from regular into manhunt, both manhunts appear as options

Oh that's weird, I swapped them again and now it lets me do the Schaeffer one and it didn't activate both manhunts/replays, huh. The past 4 times I did that it didn't & just activated both replays or manhunts

Is anyone having issues with the Daily and/or weekly projects? It keeps not registering named enemy kills (last week I killed a ton of true sons none of them counted), yesterday it kept not counting one of the two (forgot which) and today I'm not getting credit for Hyena activities or named kills. but for remove foggy rendering try switch neutral color to ON and then return to OFF (if you prefer OFF), I think this works like rendering or used shaders reset and then try switch off FOG BLUR too.

It's a bit fiddly, I'm sure it's on the fixing block.

I'm playing on PS5 and my wife is playing on a portal.
We tried to play TD2 together, but it just doesn't work.. ..at all.
If she tries streaming the game, then it would just take over on the ps5.
For example; Arc Raiders works perfectly fine. She can play on her account and i can play on mine at the same time. Why can't TD2 do that?

You both have to have a psn account and Ubisoft account. They can’t be the same. As long as the primary account holder (you) owns division 2 and has ps subscription you can add user (guest)to your account.

Does anyone else have any ideas about what else I can try? I’ve tried absolutely everything; it’s so laggy that I can never play for more than an hour, otherwise I feel sick.
I’m getting well over 120 FPS, some settings are on Low, the GPU and CPU are barely being used, temperatures are extremely low, and the RAM is fine – and yet I can barely move because of the lag.

And yes: I’ve tried everything Google could throw at me.

The clankers they programmed for Ubisoft support denied my ban appeal. Back on the 25th I was banned for no reason. I set up a case and scoured multiple forums, channels and such. Found I wasn't the only one this happened to. 3 WEEKS pass and I finally get a response. I didn't even get a chance to talk to any support staff before they denied the appeal. Saying that I "Breached code of conduct" but when I asked for evidence or any sort of reason as to why. They said they couldn't, in order to maintain the integrity of their internal systems. Not sure what to do now, I have now lost the countless hours and money I have put into the game. I don't cheat and I don't speak to anyone in game. I have done nothing to deserve this

idk if im just tweaking but compared to all the other games i've played alt tabbing in div 2 feels the worst, my framerate does fine and well until I alt tab, when i return to the window the fps just drops constantly to an unplayable stutter, the only way i've fixed the issue was quiting game and relaunching, anyone aware of what's causing this?

Are you using "Windowed (Fullscreen)" mode? That works best, but framerates will drop when the game window does not have focus (IE: I have alt-tabbed to discord to type this and I see the game stuttering a bit behind this window. I'm not in game right now so it doesn't matter to me, since it will go back to normal when I return focus to the game (alt-tab to it). It's possible for the game window to not have focus even though it is covering the whole screen, but clicking anywhere usually fixes that. I usually see this at launch if at all.

PSA for visibility-Anyone else noticed the intermittent bug with WEAPON HANDLING in cover? I'm using the Pestilence with max weapon handling and sometimes entering cover there's no buff whatsoever, HUGE reticule and recoil for days, bouncing out and back into cover sometimes fixes it but not always, A cover to cover move seems to be a more reliable fix.

Certain aimed skills often cause them to dodge immediately, especially elites, you get used to it and fire as they end their dodge

Handling issue sounds like some integer overflow is making it go negative or something, I guess check the new bug tracker tool

I've never had Blue Screen of Death while playing Div2, just a few crash to desktop. Sounds to me like a mobo or PSU issue tbh. Try lowering the graphics quality to decrease the GPU load and voltage and see if that helps. Could also be your harddrive.

@opal bay IIRC last time I bought one of those, the mask went to either my stash, or straight into the apparel menu.
Check both of those, there may be no "new item" exclamation mark though.

I was mid way through a Escalation solo. I got a prototype drop and the start and continued through the mission, half way through I got a random delta 3 and couldn't log back in, then I got a echo 1 which said something about my save being unavailable.

I log back in and the items I picked up during my escalation are gone, including my tokens to enter.

There was at least 2 dozens of drones and that was not all off them. As I moved further at the right there was a cloud of drones. All came from 1 (!) elite BT Sniper. 😄

It's most likely you haven't done the proper steps to unlock tidal in your story, did you get the little side mission south of the white house before unlocking it?

@left surge Exotic Crafting Blueprints, and Exotic Reconfigure Blueprints are different things.
You get the former from Retaliations against specific Factions. You can check which by going to your Crafting Table and seeing which one is mentioned.

Just tried mine wired, no luck for me. Its funny because it works fine on menus, map etc. Its purely just camera control. Even weirder if i aim down sights, it sort of works for a second or two then does it again, until I aim down sights again

Looks like I found a solution.
I have a Logitech G304. In G HUB I switched Performance mode of mouse to Endurance. It helped. This actually reduces Report Rate from 1000 to 125. Not nice but you can play.
Try with your mouse with corresponding software.

The HDR mention was only one users solution there are others in that post that tried other options which worked for them but I'm sure everyones rigs are different and solutions won't be the same. Indeed patch did something which messes it up when having mouse on 1000hz. Just rolled it back to what I had set before and it started jerking again. 125hz is doable as well as 500hz

It's multi monitor software (https://www.displayfusion.com/) - custom taskbar, etc. Something in the games update must disagree with it. I run an older version (10.1) because I don't like the current version. It was fine before this patch.

But that wont be the solution for everyone, if they aren't using it. But it may be other software people are running on thier pc's - rgb software, mouse software, whatever. I would imagine the issue for some people is some random software they are running conflicting somewhere.

The only things running at the time were Steam, Ubisoft Connect and of course Division 2, tried messing with some settings to try find the cause but found nothing, Fresh Rate on my monitor and In-Game Settings had no joy either.

Bravo-04 at startup for many tries. Then Ubi Connect crash. Restarted the app, booted up Div2. Finally it's working.
I turned on/off VPN too.

Further to the mouse polling issue; 125hz is the sweet spot on my computer, but a low freq like that can introduce its own mouse shudder. Mouse smoothing in settings can smooth this out so its tolerable, im using 40. The game is running better now, but it needs a patch as this band aid makes the mouse aim feel more spongey and my potato aim is worsened. Hopefully this can help anyone needing to go as low as 125hz whilst they make this fix. So far it has improved the stutters for the most part.

Microstutter is gone from main menu, but the moment loaded in. FPS dips from 60>45>60 (FPS capped, also tried uncapped, same deal) Result in a very brief but very firm stutter.

No that is unrelated to crashes. I've had a similar situation. Finish or abandon the Retaliations you are able to start, that should "reset" it and you can build them up normally again

Its a combination of server demand and your immediate play area. You should turn down particle as low as you can and graphics. Depending on your PC you may not be able to do what your doing. If your on a laptop forget it.

Even high end computers that are prebuilt cant handle div 2 high demand play. Thats been my experience with people. We call it the Kenly effect. Bounties, Kenly, Global events like Reanimated and many other events like what's going on currently will throttle most computers.

The other issue of performance many are suffering from is asset pollution. So with demand on a server of many players creating in game assets, ie loot, keys, special ammo, regular ammo and other stuff much of what gets looted becomes a tax or demand on rendering resources. Clean everything up, pull new lobbies but keep in mind you may be joining an lobby that is already polluted.

I have blueprints that are saying to do control points on lvl 3 or higher etc but when I do alert lvl 3 and 4 I'm not getting the blueprints. None of the projects or the npc has blueprints either. Anyone run into this problem? Can't find any information other than people saying you've looted the pool if you aren't getting any blueprints, but when I go to the workbench there are still blueprints saying to do the above to unlock.

Anyone know why the game has weird stuttering upon using my mouse?

When I launch the game its fine and then after couple minutes it just feels like I am playing on 5fps whenever I move the mouse.

When I am in menu's its buttery smooth and my fps sits at 120fps... I have tried changing mouse polling rate, graphics, verifying, restarting, driver updates... Only happens in Div 2 and only started happening since the Cherry Blossom event. I've played Div 2 on and off over the last few years and never had issues till now

I haven't noticed the frame rate lag when turning around, probably as I'm using a controller. But yesterday during a short session, I too noticed the frame rates dipping below 45 fps when spinning the camera 360°, and I'm locked 60 all the time.
Perhaps the occlusion culling is not working correctly? Or the sherry blossom particles are quite heavy to render.

for a couple of days now, I've been getting delta-03 errors every single time I launch the game about 2 minutes after loading up the world. when i make it to enemies during these 2ish minutes I do not take damage and I also can't suicide. after getting booted to the main menu and login back in, everything works fine. this specific issue seems to brick the ronin spawns and the spawns of the squad.

Hey folks, i would like to rais an isaue about the drop rate of blossom keys.. Unfortunately i don't have the time to farm the glitch, and i keep farming but the drop rate isn't existing..
I don't know if devs are aware of players time!

Not all players have a consistent time to play for hours on a daily basis to get few key with low RNG rate!

Yesterday i noticed an issue with servers, and that causes an issue with Proto drop rate on escalation (2 runs zero drop) and even on blossom keys!

Ultimate edition only includes everything available at the time it was last updated/priced, not things that haven't been added to the game yet. The current ultimate edition was released with Battle for Brooklyn, and then this month two new classified assignments have been added, so you need to buy those separately. Later this year we'll likely get another two dlc (Survivors and the Central Park one) and more classified assignments, so there will be more to buy.

And maybe you can help me out? I'm VERY confused by the different buttons for the same functions in the game. For example, to add an item to the trash, I have to press H, then V, or TAB, and so on for other functions.

Although it could be simplified to just pressing and holding a button.

Also, at night in the game, you can't see ANYTHING AT ALL, even though enemies can see you. It's strange that the AGENT doesn't have a flashlight on his clothes, so he can at least avoid tripping over obstacles! And the flashlight on just one pistol doesn't work in combat or while moving...

The Survivors dlc is an updated version of survival from div 1, set in a blizzard in a snowy version of DC, it'll be a game mode (like descent in some ways) where you have a limited time to complete your objective and escape during a single play session.

We don't know much about the Central Park one yet, I would guess it'll be similar in scale to Brooklyn, with a new map area and a few new missions.

Trashing items depends where you are in the game menus, I find the quickest and easiest way for dropped loot is to trash it on the ground without even picking it up, just highlight the loot pile and hold z.

If you're finding the nights too dark you might have Neutral Lighting on, try turning it off. Otherwise I guess adjust the gamma.

I can't get through a retaliation without getting huge lag spike and then I die because they enemy can shoot me but I can't do anything to them

So what exactly is the deal with the manhunt week 2? Because no matter what i do there's no progress? Or is everything just bugged in the game...and you want ppl spend money on the game? What for?? Bugs...

The game will be playing fine, then all of a sudden my gun stops shooting. The enemies will be rubberbanding all over the place and are able to get around me and shoot me but many times I can't even see them.

Gotcha. Currently many ppl suffer from hard mouse stutter issues and declare it "lag" - was just to clarify

I was doing a control point, cleared the first wave, got the radar notification that the second wave was coming but never saw them and all of a sudden I was getting shot by multiple enemies that climbed up on top of the building where I was posted and killed me without me even seeing them

I also have random spawning regular NPCs coming out of nowhere sometimes. Doesn't happen that often tho that I'd consider it an issue

The problem i am having is that it continues into the open world,. i either have to play with the game audio on mute, or just not play at all.

I have a lot of stress in my work, I really don't need stress with TD2 Y8S1 ... I want play TD2 with friends ... why is Y8S1 so BAD optimized and buggy .... why every new start ends with ERROR, why every start when works then NPC are immortal, ... why why why ... The fun ends here. Last try ... nice ... Delta-3 error (again) with internet connection ... nice JOKE UBI ... on 1Gb optics LAN and PC is on WiFi with D/U - 525Mbps / 285Mbps.

I have over 700 Mbps D/U with less then 5s ping times with speed tests and yet I enemies rubber-band all over the place in TD2

I can't claim the community reward for the community cache donations, the x just doesn't offer it. I can't see the outfit in my apparel either.
