Oh if you're actually using HDR then yeah I guess got to make sure it's on everywhere, just that many might have a non HDR monitor or one that doesn't really do it well and the game might still try to force it on causing it to look bad and washed out, for which you'd want to turn it off in game

Since the S.T.A.R.S. event started, every day the Daily Project for S.T.A.R.S. Support has been bugged.
In DC, it required 3 floors of Summit completed, but when you travel to the Summit, it changes to 3 bounties and resets the progress.
Then going back to DC it changes back to 3 Summit floors again, also resetting it.

Oh great to hear! So was the BIOS thing after all, but not the version where you could help with DOCP/XMP and/or PBO on/off (I think the threads I came across where PBO off sometimes helped was before there was an update for those older boards back then to fix it)

Really glad with that since otherwise after both latest BIOS version check + CMOS clear/factory resetting BIOS, it'd probably just be some hardware thing like PSU (though that one still seemed so unlikely after it passing power tests)

Bug? This game is quite CPU intensive.

Older and weaker CPUs can easily get 100% usage on all cores in DX12 and even DX11 in scenes with lots of shadwos, AO, long distance views and objects. This is not a bug. You can try to lower some graphics settings, overclock your CPU or make an upgrade.

hi, thanks for the suggestions🙂. i looked this up and quite a few people have had this problem of it being at 100% CONSTANTLY in missions, open world etc etc. my cpu should be fine with the game and runs far less than 100% in every other game i play (rdr2, gta, destiny to name a few), hence why i think it might be some kind of issue. online at least seems to suggest the game runs awfully with i5 processors in particular. but most likely it is what you said, just seems odd it’s at 100% all of the time with 0 dips.

It’s not as much as i5s as just low core and/or thread counts (if it’s a really old i5 those didn’t have hyperthreading for example), Div2 is super heavy on CPU including on multicore to an extent that’s unlike most games (even many heavy AAA ones, even some released this year let alone many years ago like the ones you mentioned)

Especially if your FPS is uncapped, there’s a decent chance you’re CPU bottlenecked (meaning your CPU will reach 100% before GPU, and not just on some threads but all as I’ve seen Div easily use at least 16+ threads fully)

My FPS is also mostly limited by CPU on a 7950X3D, now you could perhaps call it an optimisation issue (how it should use less CPU especially and get the same results) but at least game makes good use of the entire CPU unlike many games like especially MMOs where the limit is a single thread so FPS hits a brick wall long before you fully utilise anything

Also compared to this, GTA/D2 are much easier to run, and RDR2 is far less CPU reliant (+ unless you’re on an old 4 core/4 thread i5, since they often have a main bottleneck on 1 or a few threads, you’d be CPU bottlenecked without the entire CPU being used fully)

Resolution and textures have little to no CPU impact so feel free to keep those high
Things like ambient occlusion and shadows sometimes have some CPU impact depending on implementation, render distance of any kind especially more so, but I’m actually not too sure in this game in specific
But, a lot of settings can be changed without a restart and have an immediate effect, so you can fairly easily try to stand somewhere, ideally monitor your FPS + CPU/GPU usage, and just tweak a setting and see what impact (if any) it has for you
E.g. try a certain setting on its highest then lowest to see a contrasting difference
However, a few settings need a restart so you might not see the difference until you do so

Bulk of the CPU impact I expect can’t be changed too much I think though as that’s just all the various objects and NPCs existing and things happening, usually in these kind of games you can only reduce that impact by so much
(My FPS, when uncapped, doesn’t even change drastically between lowest and highest settings)

In my case I limited the FPS to 45, and downgrade the resolution scale to 50%, play on full window 1080p. Noticed massive drop in CPU usage

It will be eye cancer for some, but it works, now I only encounter crash once or two times per week

Wait but adaptive sync shouldn’t change colours like that, that has to be just the HDR setting of the game kicking in (which it does by default when on auto, even if windows is set to off, as soon as it discovers that the screen is HDR compatible on any way)

All you get by disabling freesync is potentially more screen tearing and input lag (if you keep vsync on)

What happened on mine was it just started turning on hdr every time I launched the game which make the game uglier and greyed out everything else, even though hdr was turned off in both game and windows. Turning off freesync was the only way I could find to fix it

So far for everyone I’ve known IRL playing this game what always happened is even if HDR was off in the monitor, and off in Windows (whether it’s 10 or 11), game by default has it on “auto” and just tries to force it on creating this greyed out mess, and the solution was to turn it off in game and that fully solves it (unless for cases where your monitor is actually a nice HDR monitor and you’re using it and want it to work properly)

I’d probably still let people try the other solutions first to make sure it’s not fixed by disabling it in game, as otherwise losing out on freesync means you downgrade your monitor in a substantial way (some people paid hundreds extra for it) unless you toggle it off every time you play Div and turn it on again after

Yeah pretty sure that's an issue with how many monitors for years now have been pushing "HDR" for marketing but they're only like HDR400 usually which is really bad, like worse than not having HDR on bad, and it's only HDR1000 and above where it starts making sense
For proper HDR you want at least that level of brightness control and most cheaper (or rather, not super expensive) monitors just can't do that so the only use of their HDR capability is to advertise it on a box

So whenever you actually use it or a game tries to force it, it's just straight up worse than not having it on (as it literally degrades contrasts and colours accuracy, among others, instead of improving range, as it's not capable enough to do so)
All it really does is whenever a game turns it on, people are confused "why did my monitor just go back 20 years in technology"

most likely your polling rate is too high, if you have any custom mouse software check in there and reduce the DPI, it's known to cause stutters in div 2

Above 1k I think it's pretty common for it to cause issues, if 1k is max then sometimes you can still get away with keeping it on 1k but yea as you might've noticed in some cases 1k still causes issues so just drop it by one notch until issue goes away, like dropping down to 500 in your case it seems (hopefully no one needs to go lower)

Of course best way you can do it is to have a profile for Div2 where it uses a separate polling rate for just the game so you can keep it on high/as high as possible elsewhere

What helped me a bit was running in Fullscreen Borderless Window mode

Running ISLC (standby mem cleaner) is something i do for many games and i often heard people say to run it for Div2 can help aswell. I cant tell if it helps or not. But it doesnt do harm

Dx12 somewhat off a tradeoff - you gain performance but lose stability.
Thats how my personal experience is.
For me the crashing is once a session so i take it with a grain of salt and rather take the improved performance with dx12.

It's a mess really, it's best if you try it out for yourself both ways
DX12 can be anywhere from negligible to an insane performance boost, and it's generally less stable most likely but not always (for example for me DX11 mode crashes about a few times a day while DX12 crashes about once a month or so atm)

I had huge issues with it crashing, turns out the speed was incorrectly detected for my ram by my motherboard. It was set to 3200 with it's actually 2133. Once I changed that, it's been much more stable. Had 1 crash in about 9 hours of play

That's likely XMP, 2133 is just some base JEDEC speed but your RAM is very likely bought as a 3200 kit and at 2133 you degrade your overall PC performance (especially if you're using a Ryzen CPU, you throw away a lot)

Might be that Div2 showed some instabilities your system has that wasn't as present in other games, but this is a bandaid fix as it's effectively greatly hindering your PC's performance to mask any issues with the setup

Also, be careful with any changes and resulting more or less stability, as even without any changes just a fresh restart you could coincidentally have many hours or even days without a crash thinking it did anything, and then suddenly go back to how it was before

What you did is as if you bought a new car and it had some issues that showed in some areas and then found out that as long as you never go above 25 mph, it's all fine so you lock the engine to make it impossible to go faster than 25 mph, it's not a great long term solution and it's showing that there's more underlying issues with the system

There are many tweaks out there to improve stability you could try.
Some maybe work for you and others are maybe even just placebo. No one really knows.

What i feel like helps is reducing the overall stress on the system.
Optimize graphic settings
Capping the frame rate
Undervolt GPU
Installing RAM cleaner (ISLC)
Playing in fullscreen windowed
Try playing dx11 or dx12

Thats things that helped me goingn from crashing every 20-30 min to crashing once a session.

Hey guys! Logged in after the Y5 patch and I'm having a huge issue with camera movement on mouse. Whenever I move the camera horizontally it stutters like crazy. Tried a controller and works just fine.
Disabled Logitech G HUB and changed DPI also, not sure what else to do. Anyone had this problem?

Polling rate is the usual culprit, try lowering it to 500. Not sure why it would coincide with game update though, unless you got new mouse or software at the same time.

Couldn't find info on ALFA-03, but ALFA-02 is "connectivity error" and it's recommended by Ubisoft to forward ports needed for The Division 2. You can always try to forward the ports and see if it helps. It's worth a shot. It's hard to tell the problem since no info about ALFA-03. You may not be experiencing NAT-related problems at all.

Hi Guys I got troubled 3 days after installing DLC NewYork. My game was working max 30 sec and freezing blue but deeper as it was "insta death" without even record dump. I started to be afraiod of integrity of my HDD SSD and SYSTEMS, yES i HAVE 3 VALID SYSTEMS ON THIS PC, ALL OF THEM WERE CRASHING. 10, 11 and LTSC, I spent 3 days tossing all possible things. No Result. In Event viewer was no clue what happens. Finally in despair, when was going to put buggy bios to my Z590 Vision D I did remove using of (Certified by manufacturer RSM) Profile1 to RAM and... wow, now game does do all it supposed. It was doing OK before DLC and all other possible games do well with Profile1 ON. What kind of code is doing this? It possibly do blues in other players PC also. It is so hard to find out.

Not sure if there's a bug report section, but getting the Bullet Hell exotic perk in the descent broke the Super 90 shotgun. Seems like the shotgun still has limited rounds, and once those rounds are gone, bullet hell keeps you from reloading, thus making the gun out of ammo permanently

Buying a special ammo from the vendor seems to at least fix it temporarily, but buying regular ammo isn't possible

Once special ammo runs out, the gun appears to function as it should with bullet hell, but upon initial equip of the perk, it seems to break it

Has it been reported that it's been MONTHS that I can't remove the exclamation mark out of my Apparel because I picked up some "To-Do" item like in the beginning of the year? Every patch I'm expecting a fix but seems to be forgotten. Additionally, now there's a bug where the same Raid objectives are showing up in progression -> commendations, if I mouse over it removes the exclamation mark but fast traveling, re-logging, loading the game whatever puts the exclamation marks right back on them and it's like a dozen of them, all related to raids. "Mildly" annoying. A "mark all as seen" has been in order for this since Season 1, still waiting for it.

I don't know if its an issue they are aware of, but I was playing Descent on Xbox Series X and my entire team left as we all died, but the results screen was displayed and I was given the option to hold B to close and leave, but when i did, the screen said results displaying in... and gave a 6 second countdown until it displayed the results screen again. This loop, pun intended, continued and I was in an infinite result screen loop. Had to close the game and restart as there was no way to access the social menu to leave Descent or group, or even log out of my character. Not super annoying, restarting isn't a big deal, but I just wanted people to be aware of my experience. Good hunting, Agents.

They're not known for retroactively give you your stuff, it has happened lots of times (like people who lost the season levels back in season 1) so be ready to have lost it all or get a dumb compensation like "hey, here's a week of golden bullet"

Some weapon types don't have space for 'one in the chamber' (eg revolvers), and running the ammo hoarders directive will also stop you from getting that extra bullet on reload - however, in neither case would a second reload work where the first one failed, so I've no idea what might be causing that.

Yeah, not using a revolver or somthing stupid like that. It can happen either way on many guns including the Liberty, SR-1 and Grudge SMG with the exact same loadout, same mission or map area and even the same session. There are some major localization issues in the servers guys, many times it does not show the region and it lags brutally. Or sometimes it show a totally wrong region. Please check out your servers

I have been trying to farm the exotic AR's but have gotten 7 Capacitors and 5 Cameleons and a few random others. Do you have to do the first raid to unlock the ability to get it from drops?

Eagle Bearer will never drop outside of the first raid and extremely rarely in DZ.

St Elmo's Engine is gotten first by getting to season level 90.

You were lied to. EB was specifically added to the Dark Zone pools, where it will drop as a contaminated item and need to be extracted to use.

Not technically pvp by itself, but it does somewhat involve it. If the planets align you can get an EB to drop, call an extract, and get it out all without seeing someone- but thats a rare occurance on top of a rare occurance on top of a rare occurance, so ymmv

Regardless, best you can do is go watch a video on Dark Hours, get a raid build ready (spreadsheet has the one you'll wanna start with) and hop over to the Community discord and see if any raids are going on.

On the bright side- EB is kinda meh as an exotic. Decent, but overall underwhelming. Cool tho.

Have no clue if it's a known issue or not (had checked the board but didn't see it) but I have several blueprints I haven't gotten yet but am not getting anymore from control points. Was my understanding that almost every blueprint was added to the general pool but most of the ones I have left (besides raid ones) say they came from previous seasons. Off the top of my head this includes the blueprint for the tkb and several gear set blueprints.

Bought the Warlords DLC and now I can’t launch the game with the DLC. Only way to play now is to turn off internet, start game, then turn on internet and retry achievement sync, but then the game doesn’t load with the DLC. Every time I start the game otherwise, either through Steam, Ubisoft, or through the EXE, it asks to bind the DLC to my account, and Connect then proceeds to fail to authenticate game ownership. I did NOT pay $30 to break my game.

Wondering if anyone else has run into this. When playing on my laptop my wired mouse stutters and is not smooth. I have a desktop with a wired mouse no issues. Same microsoft driver and version, same win11 version. It worked fine until I wiped my laptop and reinstalled windows. Same thing with wired corsair or razor. Surprisingly, I have a wireless razor basilisk that seems to work best. Also, when I say stutter I mean only in gameplay. Navigating menues works fine.

Several things keep occurring: ISAC lost his voice when announcing the usual warnings and indicators like “Enemy leader spotted” during control point takeovers and defense and the whole text is non existent and only a yellow vertical bar appears next to the SHD level bar on the top right.

it's system dependent, some people (currently including myself) crash rarely or not at all, others crash constantly - but it's not related to system power (if anything, older systems seem to be more stable) or any other specific factor that anyone's been able to pinpoint.

And rebooted and closed through the task manager. The result is one, the main menu freezes tightly. Once I was only able to go into the game itself and after a couple of seconds everything hung up again.
It's just that I used to have a 3060ti and it broke. I put 1080ti on time and that's the trouble that started

If there's one thing I can say positive about these crashes (which bug the hell out of me), if I'm in a party and we're doing a mission or a stronghold. When I get back into the game, I'm still in the party and still in the mission/stronghold, unless the group themselves kick me out.

A lot of other live service games have it so that when you get disconnected or your game crashes, you get instantly removed from your party and instance

Every time I do a bounty (not part of the manhunt) a couple yellow bars get stuck at the top of the screen and the game stops reporting everything I pickup at the bottom lower left. Playing Heroic with a new character... they were surprisingly easy (using a striker build).

Is this the same with other activities? Three of us finished off the Tower on Legendary a couple of nights ago, one of us being very new to the game and it felt a tad easy. Admittedly I was using the rather evil Aces/Chainkiller Sniper build 😇 Then the drops we got were mostly rubbish... I got an incredibly average Emeline's Guard, whereas my friend got a third Bighorn which he kindly gave to the new player... he's had three now and I've never had a single one! Although I do seem to get a lot of Scorpios 🤔
