I dare to say "possible crash fix", but I have wondered for some time whether it was related to EAC. I came across a suggestion to restrict EAC to only using one CPU core. Since doing so my friend and I have not had a crash and "Kernel-EventTracing" error I was getting every 5 seconds in Event Viewer when playing D2 has stopped!
Run D2, open up Task Manager, find EasyAntiCheat, right click and select "Set Affinity" Deselect all by selecting All Processors, then select CPU 0 (or any CPU, but only 1). I also set the Priority to low, but I don't know if that helps, but why not 🧐

I can actually second this in a way. Anytime I get weird frame drops in any game, or straight-to-desktop crashes, I usually just adjust the affinity. Specifically I remove the 0th core from the game, let it run on the rest.

Also check out Process Lasso, it makes things like this convenient for you

I do that with Process Lasso. Free version gives you one nag screen at start up but it will automatically set affinity to EAC for you after you set it up.

Those work around are a hit or miss it may work for some but before for me it crashes right away if not an hour at best. If other games that has EAC can work fine Division 2 should be the same but it isn't. They say they are working on the crashing issues but to be honest barely anything improved sometimes when into the main menu it crashes like it doesn't want you to play the game.

No point submitting crash report cause one we cannot even identify what is the main cause of the crashing and two there is no freaking crash logs at all for the game.

WOULD BE GREAT IF THERE IS A CRASH LOG GENERATED. So we can Identify why it is crashing, what causes it if it's hardware or software related

rather than oh "Upgrade the POTATO PC" like that won't make things better.

I had a couple of my friends upgraded their hardware and still facing crashing issues and they regret buying updated hardware when the issue is the same.

If most games can run fine with no issues or crashing like mad with no reason at all then no need to upgrade the hardware. The only thing I really wanted is to have this game a freaking "CRASH LOG GENERATED" as simple as that.

the interesting thing is that some crashes in this game have crash logs which uplay will prompt you to submit automatically, some crashes happen too suddenly that's there's no crash logs, some softer crashes like not responding will not have crash log because technically it hasn't crashed yet

Too many other people have the same crashing for far too long with lots of different hardware configs there is no way it is our systems in anyway.

I am tempted to think it is in some way related to multiplayer as i don't get this happening when solo (touch wood) only when in a group.

Yes, it's a common problem for a lot of players.

delta is specifically a problem with your internet connection to division server. Potential root causes are

• bad ISP (call ISP to see if they can help or change ISP)
• your router could be faulty / kinda low chance of this happening (new router)
• too few/no division servers in your region (Massive buys/rents more servers - this is out of your control)

there's a potential solution you can try which is the free 1.1.1.1 cloudfare warp app. It will reroute your internet through cloudfare and take you through different internet nodes and possibly a different div server.

The crashing part will always be a feature of the game, even with all the temporary work arounds and so called fixes it will still be a hit or miss for most. This is the only game that is crashing too often compared to any other games heck even older games runs better. Even if you do a fresh OS install, driver and put the game on an SSD, M.2 it will still crash.

I've had other friends who are new at the game with their newly built PC's 16 GB DDR4 3200mhz, i5 12600, RTX 3060, M.2 1TB storage and Win 10, first couple of hours all was fine and it's the only game he installed first after playing the game for the next day it started crashing randomly.

And another one with a lower spec unit 16GB DDR3200mhz, R5 2600, RX 590 512mb SSD win10 and same scenario we even tried setting everything to lowest setting and DX11/DX12 crashes randomly

I couldn't think any other game that is prone to frequent crashing regardless of how you configure the game and what hardware you run it on too, yes some may not have issues which are lucky.

Seems the game overload the rigs players are using. It froze less and was able to recover to crash report when i just stood on the White House and more when in free roaming

Yep I read that. In context with the game, apparently it was just bugged at the time.

I shut the game down, started it back up and it gave me a key back to open up another apparel chest and properly counted up how many I had opened.

that's actually not part of the bug, the way apparel events always work is the first two weeks you can earn keys by playing, the third week (which we are in now) you can only buy keys (or use previously-earned ones to open caches). Of course, with it thinking you don't have any you might risk getting duplicates if you open them now. At least they've acknowledged the bug and are working on a fix.

Hey guys! I've reinstalled the game on the ubisoft launcher yesterday, played for 2-3 hours everything was fine but today I changed some graphic settings, turned on dx12 and I started getting random crashes. So I reverted all my changes and it was still crashing, so I reinstalled the game (and cleaned the documents folder and stuff with the config files) and now after 20 minutes I crash again (my game suddenly gets into windowed mode + freezes and I can only hear the ambient sound but the game is "not responding" in task manager)

I really don't know what this could come from since I have 0 issues with any other game and I have a good PC, it's on a SSD and stuff

But i've seen some people complain about random crashes too, so is it like something that has been happening since a recent update or just something that has been happening for years on PC ?

thing is, crash frequency is generally pretty random so one day you'll play for hours with no issues and the next you'll be crashing every 5 mins - which makes it difficult to pinpoint solutions that actually work, as you need to give each one many hours of testing before deciding if it really helps or not

True crashing feature of the game best feature, they have perfected the art of crashing for a game regardless what hardware you have and in-game settings. The best part of it is once you sent the report we are greeted with "We are investigating the cause of the crashing issue" and that is it, no updates or follow ups on what is the common ground of the crashing for the game basically nothing will happen.

and even when it crash, normally you can log back in and you can continue what you were doing (e.g. crashing on a mission, usually you got respawned on last checkpoint)

there are few occasions when it doesnt happen and it can be annoying though

or like when you play on heroic, you crashed mid combat, and when you log back in, your chara is dead and you have to restart the mission

Even with updated graphic drivers that won't help the crashing issue of the game. I have tested older driver version of AMD and NVIDIA up to the latest and BETA drivers still crashes. DX11/DX12 is just badly coded and optimized.

Hey, i found out something wrong with my char, i got less All wp dmg bonus then my friends got. so we tryed getting a plain build op with no all wp dmg bonus on as u can see here below, and then it says -21%. can someone help me. that explain why i got less wp dmg then them.

It could be some sort of calculation error, like with the end-of-mission report, if you did more than 2.15 billion damage, your damage would be in the negative

yeah, about those calculation errors, it's usually related to software limitations that it's quite hard to get around so those are unlikely to get fixed. And it's not like you are actually doing negative damage, it's usually just a cosmetic error.

Are you using DirectX 11 or 12?

In my experience, dx11 was more choppy than dx12.

DX11 is sluggish even having a high frames in game and yes DX12 offers better performance but crashes a lot. Nothing can be done about those to be honest even if you follow those work arounds it is a short term fix and will happen again. Upgrading hardware yes but not worth it if the current hardware you are using is still capable and runs most games with no issue at 1080p high settings or higher.

Hey guys - i'm on the 'Antiviral' Black Tusk mission and the robot carrying the antiviral vanished infront of me.

I can't progress in the mission anymore. Tried quick travelling to the whitehouse then quick travelling back and then tried restarting the whole game. Neither has corrected the mission and it just picks up from where it was bugged.

Is there a way to rectify this? Not sure what else i can do here.

I ran back to the mission rather than teleporting . it's allowed me to restart the mission so hopefully it's fixed

Yeah that's a known bug, although it only happens on occasion. If you're not on heroic difficulty you can fix it by downing yourself and respawning from the last checkpoint, otherwise you have to restart the mission. It's generally considered a good idea to destroy the warhound as quickly as possible when you reach the area (rather than killing all the adds first) to reduce the chances of it occurring.

Seem to have gotten an out of synch issue now. Everything was fine, did the SHD weekly, the Daily, went to open an apparel cache, failed. re-logged character, tried again; failed, changed character; tried again, failed. Opened Map, no projects bounties etc, at the top, to select. Exited, shut down Ubisoft Connect. Waiting a min.

Shutting down Ubisoft Connect and restarting it looks like it fixed the issue.

varies hugely from individual to individual (I've never suffered much from crashing but I think I'm one of the luckier ones). However, definitely seen more people complaining about more crashes since the latest update so I suspect it's more likely to have got worse rather than better for you..

My game crushed - tried to launch it again and got an easy anti cheat error - unistalled easy anti cheat and deleted the files then tried to verify files using uconnect - uconnect wouldnt let me verify files and it prompted me to redownload the game - also deactivated the unistall button in the uconnect app - I went to the actuall game files and manually deleted them buy my hdd capacity still indicated the game is still there so my hard drive is now full and I cant reinstall. Damn this game is sure crash vision. After completing one of the bounty for man hunt and fast traveling back to white house, game went black screen and pc hard lock need to restart. I also crash when hovering over countdown (due to me having the Anderson mission out there)

To avoid the first crash, i have to join a clan member that sits at The White House and then leave the group again, that fixes the first crash

To fix the last crash, i have to do the Anderson manhunt, once that is done, crashing should not appear any longer

It's out of my world to understand, why such crashes can appear till this date, but hey, what do i know...

I go into the game, play for 10-20 minutes and a heavy load on the processor begins, going into the manager I see that the "System" process is loaded by 30%, and because of this the game is very heavily loaded, and the temperatures rise, this problem is only in Division 2 , in other games this is not, and before this was not at all.

welp, a little update from yesterday's situation, i've redownloaded the game, re installed easy anti cheat, as well as updated the driver and even tried to roll back the windows update to 4 days ago when the game is able to launch, so far, the best case scenerio would be that the game would launch, with the epileptic warning showing up for a mere 3 seconds, before the game just crashes with no warning or anything, otherwise the game won't even launch...any idea on how to fix it?

Have you done enough of the manhunt to unlock the final Anderson mission? If not, try that, it might help. This is a widely reported issue btw, it's definitely not at your end.

If you're struggling with the bosses, try a tier 6 turret/drone build to cheese them, or call for backup

Yeah the problem is related to the Anderson mission which is next to countdown on the map, crashes when you go near it

Hence unlocking the mission should hopefully fix the crashes

If you're stuck in NY you can get to DC by joining another player who is in DC or by starting/quitting a countdown.

Restarting the PC is the only way to get rid of the issue, you know typical from a somewhat working game to a more problematic one. Before the update was released this was not an issue, and after they released the update with so called fixes it made things worse.

Since i have had total freezes 95% of the time then restarting is the only solution. To me it seems like the game it self messing with the GPU drivers or GPU directly.

That is not normal then this game and only this game does that.

It's the game it self in short they broke it after the maintenance a couple of weeks ago. Other games that uses EAC doesn't have this issue before this game doesn't have that issue so clearly they messed up the update. Which will take them a year or longer just to fix it, if they will ever fix it at all. But hey only time will tell maybe until we die or get old the issue is still not fixed.

Don´t worry, restart and it comes again. They fixed the game so good you can feel it when playing it.

They haven't fixed the crashing issues it will take them like a year or longer, as you know the cycle repeats they release a so called hot fixes but breaks the game more to a unplayable state. Other's are fortunate enough to play the game without having issues while for some or like me still getting the random crashing issues if not memory leak. DX11 or DX12 doesn't make any much difference on the game as either it will let you play for a couple of hours or days and go back to crashing mode like more of intentional giving us the middle finger.

Also funny thing is the division2.exe running on the background even if the game is already closed and the ubisoft launcher is closed it is still running with no apparent reason.

The only way to fix is by restarting the PC what a brilliant fix that is they broke the game and you need to restart the PC every time you finish playing the game lmao!

Nope it doesn't tried the task kill before along with powershell it cannot be terminated due to no instance running but it shows the .exe is running.

It's one of the reason why I have not played the division 2 because of that issue running on the back ground using resources, using third party application won't work as windows is locking it even with over riden permissions and such won't still be terminated on task manager.

where is your character when you try to open the map? This sounds like the crash many players (including console players) have when the map is in the top right area of DC near the countdown. Try heading south & west, open the map (and don't zoom it out) and see if it still crashes

Soo...I have a problem that has persisted over the last week. Each day I go to start the game, it loads, gets past the AMD RYZEN screen and then immediately closes it's self out. Only way to counter this is a uninstall/reinstall. I'm not in the mood to wait around for it again. I need help. Also, can't even verify files after each install, but the game works.

They responded with an actual helpful advice that you never mentioned using, it doesn't matter how many clean installs you do that's not related to putting EAC to run on only one thread

Doesn't fix all the crashes for everyone, but for example for me whenever I don't do that, I crash at least every hour, often more like every 5-15 minutes, and whenever I do that I might go to less than one crash every 1-2 weeks
(I used to use Process Lasso to automatically do it but had some issues with that program so now I run a one line powershell script on desktop right after I launch the game that puts EAC's affinity to only the first thread, to prevent needing to do that in task manager every time)

Other things I have is to absolutely make sure nothing with an overlay is on or has it enabled (things like RivaTuner/Discord/Steam/Ubisoft/GeForce etc), low latency mode off (both in NVIDIA control panel as exception for D2, as I have it on on otherwise globally, and in the in game settings), disabled all exploit protection for D2, with only 16GB of RAM made sure to have a 32GB page file (which the game definitely uses a lot and would crash more often if it has less than ~30GB of memory if not more), re-installed EAC after update and also DDU clean installed GPU drivers, running DX12 mode as DX11 didn't change much for me (except lower performance a lot)

Even went like over a month without crashing (with around 200-250h of playtime in that time) doing that, but unfortunately as of the Dec 21st update it's started to happen a lot more frequently, but it's still definitely lot more common when I don't confine EAC to just one thread

Those helpful advice never worked for me so yeah I am pissed and annoyed. And again the EAC affinity work around doesn't help either same issue game will crash right away if not good for a couple of minutes or hours then crash. Also if EAC is the main culprit it should also affect other games that has EAC but it doesn't as Division 2 suffers frequent crashes. Even with no overlay installed, no running apps on the background switched different ram modules from 16GB, 32GB and 64GB stock speed 3200mhz still crashes.

I've never seen event viewer say anything useful about it, lot of the times there isn't even an event (in any category) logged when the crash happens

At best it's a vaue nvlddmkm with "description for event ID 0 cannot be found" generic device error when the game died, but not even always

Apparently there's some temporary crash logs or dumps created somewhere in appdata if you do get the "o no game crashed, send crash report to ubisoft" pop-up, until you actually press the button to send them then they get deleted when they get sent, but I haven't looked there yet (I don't get that pop up often after either, only when it closes on its own, but often it'd just go into windowed mode and freeze until killed)

That's actually quite common since they dropped the last manhunt target - seems to be related to the final manhunt mission (which is next to countdown on the map). Going through the rest of the manhunt steps to unlock the final target might fix it for you. Someone also suggested that removing directives fixed it for them, I'd be curious to know if it works for you too.

it tends to do that for me if I'm doing anything else in any other program while it's launching, if I just launch it to play and don't touch anything (don't even click desktop or anything to activate that) then it tends to stay full screen

On PC games (unlike consoles where it's one set hardware where devs already know pretty much exactly how it'll perform) because of the high variability of setups usually you're offered a (ideally wide) selection of graphics settings, and usually (like in Div 2 ) a preset that sets all/most of the settings to give a general e.g. low/medium/high/ultra setup

You can lower the "Graphics Quality" on the very top of the Graphics settings menu and see how that runs, or you can tweak individual settings lower (some have a bigger impact that also depends on hardware setup, and also some people don't mind lowering/disabling certain things or even want to do so, while others are a lot more bothered about turning down certain settings, so you can find out what you like too)

At best there's sometimes a target FPS setting where you can e.g. set target FPS to 60 and then if the game is at or above 60 FPS at your given settings it'll just run like that (but not usually increase in quality even if it could while still running >60 FPS) and if it drops below 60, it'll try to lower settings dynamically (usually the render resolution)

Ideally when tweaking these in any game, easiest way to see results is to be in game standing at some outside spot, and then hopping into graphics settings and checking FPS difference in impact (luckily for most settings in most games you don't need to restart the game for the changes to happen, but for certain settings you do and it'll tell you so too)
You can check live FPS via e.g. Ubisoft overlay's FPS counter (or if a game runs via Steam, that has it too) and then you can see live how a setting/preset you change impacts things for you
For Division I'd recommend to afterwards turn off such an overlay as the game is quite sensitive to crashes and any overlay (like Steam's/Ubisoft's) seems to make it worse

Yeah that happens sometimes. If you can get yourself killed (eg by nearby enemies) that should fix you, but otherwise you'll need to hard close the program.

In order of less invasive to more invasive options I'd try:

• Disable all overlays (Steam, Ubisoft, GeForce/AMD, Discord, RivaTuner) - for Ubisoft (default enabled) it's in Ubisoft Connect settings => uncheck enable in-game overlay for supported games
• After launching the game, put EAC's affinity to one thread (go to task manager => find easyanticheat.exe in details, set affinity => unselect all by clicking all processors checkbox, then only select CPU 0) - you can automate this with either Process Lasso, or make it more convenient with a tiny powershell script you can run from a shortcut
• Make sure to have a sizeable pagefile, even with 32GB (and definitely with 16) of RAM the game will eat most of it, for me with 16GB RAM I made sure to set a pagefile of 32GB
• Run ISLC (Intelligent standby list cleaner) while running the game, with 16GB of RAM I have it on clean on at least 1000MB of list size, and when free memory is below 2048MB
• If running in DX12, try 11, and vice versa (it's a quick fix but I'd not necessarily recommend it first thing, not running DX12 can be a potential major FPS loss on a lot of systems)
• Clean install latest GPU drivers - use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller, first result guru3d has a legit link to it if you google it) to fully, cleanly remove your entire existing GPU driver in safe mode, then install a fresh latest version downloaded from nvidia/amd - keep in mind this resets your graphics control panel configs of course
• Try to minimise all background apps you run, especially hardware accelerated things (which is most programs nowadays, like having too many open windows of discord/browsers, videos playing etc) + lower your game settings a little bit to give more GPU headroom + make sure you have some kind of FPS cap so it doesn't just do unlimited FPS
• Disable low latency mode (both in the in game settings and make sure your GPU control panel doesn't have it on for D2)
• Try disabling g-sync/freesync for D2 or entirely

• Disable all exploit protections for the game (its 3 related exe's) only, as per this post (I'd probably try this as one of the last resort options):

Yes, it's a truckload and sorry for the wall, no, they're not guaranteed fixes, but they seem to help some people with variable success on longer time frames where it might be less of a coincidence, it's stuff I've collected over some time of looking up stuff here and on reddit (and most that I've tried, with again varying success)

I wouldn't call it placebo, I think the sample size and test results given crash rates vs hours is a bit too high for expected % even within wide healthy margins, but it's just too situational and it seems like the tiniest variables can affect things meaning that all it does is like other said mix things up enough that you might get in an environment where you mitigate or, if you're lucky, nearly eliminate the issue

To be honest the thing that seems to work for me is to stay long in main menu before loading the world with "continue". At least it works on GeForceNow streaming service but this is special case where cloud copy may recompile some stuff on purpose.

well it's well known bug it is occurring since last December patch. i think they will solved that in upcoming update. there is one solution. you can find on raddit. search post as pentagon breach bug solution in the division 2. you can find it there it is little annoying. but if you are lucky enough you should be able to solve it. or you can wait for the next patch it might come in 2 weeks. with new season.

for me it happened for the chameleon gun the exotic reconfigured. I know the fact that it is AR class but for some reason it was showing me shotgun with only 12 mag and I already have blueprint unlocked for both of the guns. so I deconstructed the gun and crafted again which solved the bug for me. btw I also tried selling and buying back but it didn't change anything.

the sidearms with -1 rank are the ones you get from specialisations, you can only have each of those equipped if you also have the specialisation active that gives them

Haven't been having crashes yet, but what I did here was replace the game file's EAC with the latest version from EAC's website. The one in he game files is version 4, the latest one on the website is version 6.

So I downloaded the latest version, renamed it to EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe, and set it to run on admin, and install.

I also got exploit protection thing, and made sure that the game also runs on admin.

And just to make sure, I reset the manhunt, and regularly delete my shadercache

Keep in mind you didn't do anything different there, what you replaced isn't the same exe
What you replaced is the one that then puts the actual eac.exe into program files, which is the same version 6
What you download is that eac.exe that the installer would've put there as version 6 too, ultimately there's no change as both are the exact same version and sign certificate date when ran (that install exe in the game's folder is only used to initially install it, its version doesn't matter and that number can be arbitrary, you could have say an installer on version 2.0 install the 5.0 version of the driver)
So it's likely a placebo help, or the one that seems to potentially help where you just reinstall EAC altogether (though it's confusing because both exes are also capable of installing the eac driver, but the end result is the same)

The missions' bug are not affecting existing players/characters who already completed them. Only the new players/characters, thus the surge amount of people reporting the bugs. My new character can't start The Pentagon, Coney Island missions shows incomplete, etc. But all of my other characters', which already done the missions way back in the past are fine. Strangely, I can get the SHD cache in the underground sewer in NY on my first playthrough with the new character, but not with my other 3 characters (the fireman didn't drop the door key). Go figure.

I have some question I have got this 2 hunt in this season but i don't know how to activate this target bounties. can anybody help me how to activate their mission? one is from season 9 and one is from 4. Head to the mission in question, bring up the options (where you choose difficulty and directives) and look for the 'toggle mission mode' prompt at the bottom of the screen.

I saw mission loot and mission xp they were lot more than regular mission. i think it looks like xp farm if it is repeatable i don't care for gear i only need to get busy bee gun i heard it's very good side arm. I don't know how long this season reward track will run. When I finished expansion season was almost finished only 2 days were remained. although I got many things in those 2 days. like 40 stars in one day and another 10 stars in 1 day by playing the event resulted in 2-3 exotic gear.

They are repeatable, you can run them as many times as you like. I've never heard of anyone using them as an xp farm though, the most common method of leveling is to run resource convoys in the open world with as many directives as you can manage

I only use 3 directives (1) no armor regen (2) only start with pistol ammo (3) enemy with special ammo. 8 can't use any other because if i want to enable other directive i have to decrease difficulty to hard or normal. I usually play solo in challenging or sometimes heroic. Because it gives good named gear or best any repeative exotic weapons which i can decontruct for material.

It's a known bug at the moment. Try going in while in the game of someone who has already unlocked it, see if that fixes it.

Well i have finished those mission given in the season rewards i am right now at 80 pass level i would have reached 100 early but i only started playing again recently. I also finished this seasons manhunt it wasn't that much fun

But the rewards were pretty good

so you have already unlocked them all? In that case you've no need to worry, they stay unlocked in future seasons

you only have to unlock them once. Also, most of them are not as difficult as this season's manhunt mission, they're mostly closer to regular missions.

I was wondering if somebody could help me with this on my first character all my specialization weapons are unlocked but on my second and third character three of them wont unlocked and it shows all the field results completed, but doesn’t have all the points any help would be appreciated

you have to earn the points by equipping the specialisation then going and doing stuff that gives you points (levelling, daily bounties, projects, weekly invasion, etc)

I tried with one of my clan memeber but still can't open it. So i will wait for season 11 to get release. If it doesn't fix than i will i someone who have opened the mission and play woth him in higher difficulty. That might do the trick. It will be locked but still will be playable.

I am getting some weird issues. I am seeing this first time. I was playing summit and suddenly character started running straight like out of the building. I can't control my character can't open inventory or press escape. it goes through walls, closed doors, objects and it was running infinitely. Now I know for sure that summit building is on island near DC. because I ran past dc in this running. if you don't believe me look buildings in 1st image that's DC. 😂
