To Recal or improve existing stats on gear, or trading in a desired stat on a gear. Like say for example, you get striker gloves with perfect weapon damage roll (15%) and it drops with say 7% weapon handling, and you desire it to be Crit Damage, you can swap the weapon handling off for Crit Damage

Or, if it drops with the rolls you want, but you want to improve the stat, you'll need to have a max attribute in your library in order to be able to optimize existing stats on gear. I recommend farming for gear with decent rolls and then filling your library with Max Stat attributes

Lex has a higher ROF tho so it's burst DPS will be better no matter what tinkering you do to get the caretaker to match

Yes but then again, aiming isn't an issue for me. I play both inputs, mnk and controller. Mostly controller bc I have permanent nerve damage in my wrists. The point I'm talking about is max stacks with your default striker build. G36 hits for more damage long term, Lexington for better burst DPS. I've noticed the Caretaker overall feels more powerful in the damage output it does. I'm willing to hit for harder if it means I trade in some Burst DPS. I'm not always trying sling bullets as fast as I can, sometimes the sustained DPS matters more than burst. Both guns will have a difference, always. However, it's always down to preference. I love the lex and I love the caretaker. Lex feels like a copy and paste of the St Elmo's, which is heavily overused. G36 is a nice switch up. Shoots slightly slower but hits way harder. Seems like a fair trade for me

Exactly this. I've noticed on Gunner type Named Bosses, the caretaker melts them quicker than the Lexington due to the higher damage output (obviously Killer being proc'd)

Not really, no. Pvp focuses on high end setups with armor meanwhile PvE focuses heavily on gearsets

You can take some Gearsets into dz but most require stacking. You can't always stack so high end is better

variant 1:
Catharsis mask
Liquid Engineer backpack (the named Belstone with Perfect Bloodsucker talent, gives bonus armor on kill)
Pecaro's holster
2 more Brazos
1 more Belstone (for the 10% armor on kill but you can use whatever you want here)
Obliterate talent on chest

Caretaker as primary
Scorpio as secondary

variant 2: same as variant 1 but chest, holster, gloves and kneepads replaced with Ongoing Directive

variant 3:
Memento backpack
Belstone chest with Obliterate
rest Virtuoso gearset (gives bonus armor on kills > 25 m away, rest of the bonus armor from Memento)

Dark Winter as secondary

don't know about that...depending on the situation Foundry with Catharsis / Memento and a damage chest talent (like Obliterate) can work

You can't change the 2nd attribute on any gun, just the 3rd.
so with LMG's, you're always stuck using dtooc, and you can pick what the 3rd one is.

The general consensus is beteeen fire-rate/crit chance/damage to armour.

I ran a Hunter's Fury set with an SMG forever (basically all the way until SHD Level 1000) and it easily carried me through everything heroic while allowing a very "in your face" playstyle, which I enjoy.
It's very un-original, but here goes: Crusader Shield + any skill of your choice. Ceska chest with Obliterate talent and CHC + CHD + CHD mod, Memento with CHD mod, 4x Hunter's Fury, all with CHD as attribute and mod, 2 of them rolled to blue cores (most people hate this or find it dumb, but for me it was the sweet spot between damage and survivability since it boosts both the Memento bonus armor and the shield).
For group play or if you hate Memento, instead get a Sokolov backpack with Bloodsucker (sustain) or Wicked (DPS) talent.
For the Vector you just mod it with 3x 5% CHC, extended mag and Strained as talent (or use the named Vector called Dark Winter).

with only being able to modify one attribute OR the talent, for any gear piece tbh, you either want to roll:

1. both attributes as the ones you want so you can change the talent of the chest to the one you want
2. 1 attribute being the one you want as well as the talent being the one you want, so you can change the 2nd attribute to the one you want
   in terms of a ceska chest, its more than likely being used as a DPS piece, so for the attributes you want crit hit chance, crit hit damage, and the talent "obliterate"

The problem with them all is all the meta builds have been done to absolute death, so all they have left is suboptimal and/or meme builds that work up to Heroic... But most decent builds survive heroic anyways. Trying to find an actual good build YouTuber is going to be an errand.

i push to 60, or close to it on any crit dps, including when using coyote. do a simple (chc x chd) calc and pick whatever gives highest value. dont rely on buffs to make it up unless you can maintain a ton of uptime, otherwise you are losing potential damage

what i consider as consistent is if it doesn't require me to empty my mag or not make me take full advantage because i have to swap off. so things like killer, strained or optimist will not be favored much for me

It even works on a striker build. Just drop your reviver hive ahead of you, charge where the hunter spawns (CD and hunter puzzles and missions and summit). By the time they spawn, you're within range of your hive. Disrupt immune. Skills work perfectly fine

With hotshot, if you do it just right, you can 1 tap both hunters instantly

You could go the extreme and take iron lung. Results will be the same, they're just not immobilized when on fire unlike shock + foam

AR:

• Caretaker (Named G36C with Perf. Killer. Obtained by getting shepherd rank 7-8. Answer backup calls, get endorsed by just helping)

• Lexington (veteran time-limited reward, not a lot have it)

• Famas (basic high end AR. Easy to get. Make sure it drops with damage to targets out of cover or with Killer talent)

• St. Elmo's Engine (exotic weapon. Easily obtainable. Target loot AR's in Countdown on Challenging diff. Matchmake)

• Eagle Bearer [exotic] (Dark Hours raid exclusive, get it by having a boss drop it [1% chance per first run of the week] or 10% chance per crate open)

• Chameleon [exotic] [useful on some builds. Weak accuracy at range but def good up close] (same farming method as St Elmo's)

SMG's:

• SMG-9 (high end. Target loot SMG's. Same farming method as Elmo's and Chameleon)

-Lady Death (exotic weapon. Same farming method as Elmo's and Chameleon. Just target loot SMG's)

-Ouroboros (exotic weapon. Paradise Lost: Incursion exclusive. Drop chance 1% per boss, 10% from the crate. There's better options than this for damage. But this is the best weapon for fire rate and handling)

-Chatterbox (exotic. There's a quest for building it, super easy. Def YT it)

LMG's:

-Pestilence (broken ASF, exotic weapon. Can be farmed in DZ and I believe in countdown. Also can be pulled from exo caches. Countdown vendor sells them)

-Iron Lung (exotic. Same farming method as Elmo's. Target loot LMG. Drops from exo caches, too)

-L86A1 (high end LMG. Target loot LMG's)

-RPK (high end LMG. Target loot LMG's)

In Div2 builds a big part of your builds power comes from talents and keeping the uptime on the talent will make it more powerful. Umbra if you can keep it up it’s great but it’s a lot more in and out of cover where other builds can just keep shooting.

hsd isn't really the bottleneck. most of the time it's weapon damage. the real thing that will either make or break your sniper build is damage to helmets, which isn't increased at all by headshot damage or damage to armor. your real choices are dttooc, dth or weapon damage, and it's easiest to get more weapon damage
