I'm guessing it takes a lot of time to get the update running well on the switch or IOS since the hardware is a bit weak for running large 3D third party games. And it needs to be very polished and complete since they don't do mini updates like bug patches anymore, only large updates such as holidays that come out every few months. Hopefully it's out later today or tomorrow but I would rather have the update polished than rushed. Though it does make me a bit angry how they said it would be in time for the Halloween festivities. >:(
