When block was a thing the neighbor could literally stand infront of all the kids and just heal while they were trowing items at him. Another thing is that block slowed you down a lot. If you started blocking you would be very slow and the kids would just run away. Also back then the neighbor's running speed was slower than the kid's so if you blocked you would just be slowing yourself down and letting them get away more easily.

Also don't forget that the neighbor takes 9 hits and butcher takes even more. While this may not seem much it is a giant improvement over what we had in betas and alphas in which the neighbor had only 5 hitpoints

People seem to believe that the alphas were balanced when that is not the case. The only reason why it might have seem that way is because back then people didn't really have a lot of experience with the game thus everyone was incompetent. Also don't forget that the alphas were always opened for a month and while new versions were being developed we couldn't play the game

The reason why the kids may seem OP is simple. The game has been out for a very long time and people have gained a lot of skill and experience. And you can't really balance the game around people who played for over like 400 hours
