It depends on the neighbour and how well the kids stick together.
You can definitely be stealthy as Clown and Scary, while Taxidermist is exactly how you just described it. Given the kids fight back, it pays off to use stealth to pick them off.

That was the hardest one to get for me, but I waited until Amusement Park and hid all of the keycards. I got lucky that the inventor never made one, and nobody knew any of the skips (since you can skip into all three keycard areas).
Amusement Park was the easiest to hide the keycards on, you might be able to do it on others.

If there's no detective, you could try hiding keys too. Being detective or inventor (for the metal detector) yourself helps.

@here What do you think about Secret Neighbor? Adding the journalist and the other neighbours is not good.
And the fact that the old graphics aren't there and there are traps and lasers everywhere in the quick game is also really annoying.
If the game is made with a huge update and trailer like before, crossplay with all platforms and the shop doesn't come at 2am, then we can only expect a comeback!

Did tiny build annouce they are done with it? because up until late 2023 they were dropping amazing updates that added tons of great features and really fixed a lot of the games problems.

It seems that the game has a small group of dedicated players still, but I think some more publicity would make people remember the game and play it again. Its honestly sad because the game is pretty fun. And I don't even know what kind of thing they could do to revive it

Detective is good for finding keys which can be super fun, but brave can deflect objects with her bat and give a second chance at life against the neighbor. Inventor, if you get enough yellow things and gears, can create keys. Journalist always knows what keys we need and has a few other abilities. Leader is basically just support. Only reason I have her level ten was for an achievement. Scout has a slingshot which is super useful to counter the neighbor.

Its also important to have a good neighbor. Guest can be really useful on open maps such as amusement park but can be pretty useless in maps such as the one where you go down into a huge basement.

I would reccomend you try playing as each kid three times and each neighbor 3 times to find which is your favourite out of all of them.

Overall it used to be brave but I feel like detective makes yourself more useful to the team. For neighbor I usually use guest or ghost but the chef butcher and clown are pretty versatile.

We literally had crow marks the key about 5 seconds into the game

I found 4 keys

And I caught him as he opened the basement door because I placed glue in front of the door
