They do because technically it needs fixes on all platforms. Scout and Bagger's lasers need to be corrected. They want you to be able to solve the event on your own so it isn't going to stay like that. And all the rest of the platforms have the event incomplete. It was necessary to shut all the servers down because they want to fix it on all platforms. Even if it has nothing to do with fixing the event, it could be for other bugs too. It really could have been shut down for any reason though.
