I haven't I just discovered kube-vip and at the place where the cluster is there's a system called "purgatory" which is where new devices are put so they can't reach the internet and apparently kube-vip goes around it completely and yes the person who owns the system knows about it and doesn't really mind because it's all only in the arp tables and not a big deal

purgatory is also based on machine mac addresses and only affects a device if it tries to reach out to the internet I think
