it's a tv series where he's the main character. unless he's in combat 24/7, it's going to be odd that he's in his full suit every time he's on camera during downtime. it can also humanize him more and make the audience more connected to his character if they can see his facial expressions. we have to remember that this show is going to be seen by people who don't even know what the halo game is.

Lukepowa does have a fair point on this. Also chief has taken off his armor in the novel The Flood when taking a shower at Alpha base and rare instance for short sleep. He also had his armor taken off at the end of 4 if beaten on legendary. So it isn’t nothing out of the ordinary or unusual. And quick friendly reminder is that the Halo tv series is set in an alternate timeline, so chief having character, personality and expression is creative decision even if it’s makes him more human.

How accurate was the portrayal of the flood infection?

i thought that was really bad. I imagined it would be a lot more subtle. They went the crazy world war z zombies route. I think it would have been more like subtle. The people would still be able to function. Its just that the parasite would influence the objective of the infected. For example: encourage them to travel more to infect more people.

But some things were..... and in my opinion it was and is still a dope show. I've played halo all my life. Just finished the mcc for like the 5thbtime lol. It's cool tho maybe in the future we will get a spot on show. But I think going the route they went was cool to see what other possibilities they are.

Fine then, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
The series feels like adhd. It jumps from one concept to another while barely touching on any. Everything it tries to say is never said because it never stays on the subject. It flies around like a tumbleweed trying to sound complex while saying absolutely nothing. Chiefs little stint in the city at the beginning of season 2? Completely pointless, none of the ideas of loneliness and purposelessness are ever expounded upon and the one time they surface they are unarticulated and come off as cheap blade runner

||The covenant is an unconvincing villain with no motivation we ever are granted to see in their maybe 4 stand alone scenes in season 1, in season 2 we’re told there’s a schism, and yet there’s only a singular ship that we ever bother to see. In an entire galaxy that’s supposedly engulfed by war, we see a narrow window into which absolutely nothing happens because we are supposed to be intrigued by the mystery of halo, except for the fact that the mystery is entirely absent apart from one vision in season 1, and a contrived final battle in season 2 taking place apparently around the ring||

It's difficult to go into Halo without expectations considering how vocal the internet has been about it, even then, I went in hopeful that I'd enjoy it, despite it being different, but I just found that what they went for immediately was something I wasn't a fan of. I'm often open to different interpretations, but there are some variations that I do just dislike largely because of my love of the original, and that was apparent here. As well as the underlying wish that we'd just have gotten something more faithful, which is near impossible to ignore, as I'm always thinking "this could've been so much better."

It has many mistakes, i mean, for what i understand, the Covenant put 'Demon' as Master Cheif's nickname due to him destroyed a Halo ring due to the Flood infection in the Instalation 04

elites have shields and heavy armor which would take a lot of bullets to take down from an older weapon. the majority of halo guns typically use bigger bullets, more advanced material and faster velocities so they wouldn't need as many.

The first episode did a good job to show how the Human-Covenant War is so brutal, but the reveal face of Master Chief sealed it's fate, they tried to do the Mandalorian whithout knowing what it made special that show

If season 3 were to happen I think Kwan ha would be the gravemind cuz the flood didn’t infect her mainly I think when John leaves the facility after getting Cortana back he might have to go some UNSC bases and ask for a repair of his helmet (cracked visor) and armor (his 117 emblem was burned off by the plasma during the duel in S2 EP8) and maybe admiral Keyes will return with a scar or sum cuz the show had a lil obsession of somehow being people back from the dead like Makee but I mainly think Makee actually dies in S3 cuz she was trying to activate the ring but didn’t knew about the flood and the flood infect her and John had to take her down maybe thts why John asked 343 guilty spark “what the hell happened down there?” And he responded with “death, but not yours” and he asked “what is that thing”

And maybe might kill off the side characters like Soren and the others from the flood to make season 3 more focus on John and Cortana exploring the ring and get a glimpse of Thel Vadamee in his ship looking at the halo ring cuz when John said “not today” and when he was flying through space to get Var Gatanai corvette we saw a lot of covenant ships in the background but I believe it might be Thel Vadamees fleet but hey thts just a theory

I'm about halfway through Season 2. The show has some neat ideas, but many (though not all) of them are poorly executed. Season 2 has been an improvement over Season 1 so far; the intro is millions of times better, the first episode actually had me hooked for 40 minutes straight (until Master Chief tried the whole e-girl dating simulator therapy thing and then Kwan came back), and (speaking of which) there hasn't been this massive tangent subplot about a moronic character nobody cares about. Also, when Kwan does appear, she's not useless and stupid 100% of the time anymore. I was expecting a lot worse from this show, but from the standpoint of it being a rendition rather than a retelling, it just needs some execution improvements, a few ideas cut, and a bit more lore consistency, and it could have been/go on to be really good.

vgchartz is not the most reliable and most accurate source due to doing estimates guessing (if I can recall). H4 might have gotten equal sells with 3 and Reach, but I don’t know. Also on the tv series. It had been known in well advance that the tv series was going to be set in an alternate timeline. So Chief taking off his helmet isn’t out of the ordinary.

Halo tv series was cancelled mostly due the merge between Skydance and Paramount. Had there been no merge, then the series would have gotten a third season set on the Halo ring. Also Stckr has brought up very valid points some on one data point isn’t much reliable and not much of proof. And Lukepowa brought up a good point corporate isn’t the main factor of the cancellation.

the problem with your facts is that shows can be poorly reviewed, but still get subsequent seasons. If that wasn't the case, then you might have stronger points, but it isn't so that doesn't really prove much other than it wasn't a huge hit.

well if you average the reviews, a 51,52 and 71 average out to 58, so almost half the fanbase left bad reviews. It put ads for the show on doritos and in an insane amount of locations, so it spent at minum 300 mil (170 was the released number for just season one production costs) so it is probable they lost money.

The Halo TV series cancellation is a deal. It leaves a story fans who are divided but still care deeply and a huge investment that hasn't paid off yet.

We get why decisions like this happen. Halo cost a lot to make. When you have a budget you have big expectations. Companies have to think about the money they make from viewers, subscribers and investments. If a show isn't doing well it makes sense to stop making it.

Lets think about this. Stopping Halo now doesn't just save money. It might also waste what they've already made.

They've already made two seasons. They've built a world, special effects, cast and fans know about it. All of that cost money.. Season 2 was getting better. It was listening to fans changing its tone and setting up a story.

That's hard to do. Most shows aren't great at first. Whats important is if they get better. Halo was getting better.

Stopping it now doesn't just save money. It stops the shows progress.

The Halo brand is strong. It's one of the famous gaming franchises. Fans have been around for decades. When fans are mad they still care. They're still watching, talking and hoping.

That's not failure. That's a chance to make it better.

We're not asking for much. We want an ending. That doesn't mean making seasons. There are options:

  • A short final season to end the story

  • A limited series event

  • A movie-length finale to end the story

These options would:

  • Save what they've already made

  • Make fans happy again

  • Make the franchise look better

  • Show that fans matter

now it seems like "this show ended" and "getting better didn't matter."

So fans lets do something. Of being mad lets talk in a constructive way. Lets write letters. Not ones, but thoughtful ones. Lets tell them:

  • Why Halo matters to us

  • What got better in Season 2

  • Why a proper ending is important

Studios listen when fans are organized and make sense. This isn't about being demanding. It's about showing that Halo still matters.

Sometimes the difference, between a missed chance and a success is giving it a chance to finish.
