I dont know if anyone has had this issue, but when i was pushing the figures out of the plasitc on the 20th annerversry mega construx pack, The jerome figures sholder pad/plate cracked. I dont know if this is a quility issue or what, but the only way i could fix it was with a tiny amount of super glue.

Is everyone excited about Upper Deck's Halo trading cards supposedly being released soon?? Its not completely certain, as there have been previous setbacks with these, but it is said the release date for the Hobby Box is the 12th of February, and the Blaster Box being for the 26th of February. But, as I said, those dates could change lol.

So, I dont fully know allll about it, but it seems that both the Hobby Box, and the Blaster Box will have the chance to contain cards that depict stuff from Halo CE, to Halo Infinite, including both the Halo Wars games. Im not sure if Spartan Assault an the others like it are included in this, but yeah lol.

And of course theres a chance to get special chase cards as well, foils and other cool things. Some of which are numbered, so they seem to be quite limited

The craziest ones though of course are that it is possible to unbox autographed cards by the voice actors! And also, theres cards that are 1 out of 1 sketch cards. A bunch of artists were commissioned to make Halo sketches, and I guess the card they drew on would be the one that gets unboxed. Im not sure how many of each autographed and sketch cards there are, but its quite interesting!

Now, there are some differences in what you may get from the Hobby Box vs the Blaster Box

it seems the sketch cards are only possible to obtain through the Hobby Box, while the autographs are in both the Hobby Box and Blaster Box. It seems the Blaster Box also will give you more of the "base" types of cards rather than the special ones

Yes, it seems that the Blaster Boxes are, I believe $24.99, and contain 7 packs per box, with 8 cards in each pack.
The Hobby Box is $149.95, contains 20 packs per box, with 6 cards per pack.

Halo kinda has a sordid history with its merch.

The old McFarlane figures? About a 7/10, maybe an 8/10, but they had weak wrist joints.

Mega Bloks? The OGs were awful due to how bad Megabloks used to be with tolerances, but now they are actually really nice sets.

Tabletop games? The original Spartan Games one was rare and died quickly, but was functional; Its replacement, Mantic Games, has kind of iffy QC, but has a more stable variety and is likely better in a business sense.

I have half a mind to accuse 343i of choosing Spartan Games solely due to the company's name, because they were horrible to find and utilize.

I feel like Mega made the base Elite head just a smidge smaller than it should've been. It works best when there is a larger head piece, but something like the classic helmet looks too big for its head

I finally got a 2nd Halo Mega Bloks 2023 Sandtrap Elephant for $113 during the Amazon Final Sale for it. So now I can make a Red Team Halo 3 Elephant to match my Blue Team Halo 3 Elephant. But also kind of sad as I feel this is the end of the Halo Mega Bloks toyline, as all the remaining 2024 sets are now being discontinued, Mega lose all their Pokémon and Godzilla licenses to Lego, and Mattel seems to have no interest in carrying over the Halo license to their Mattel Brick Shop toy brand.

I'm greatful it lasted 15 years, most toylines only last 6 months to a year at most. But man, I hate the insane prices the retro Halo sets are going for.

An Olifant set with a Vrigl/Quick to Adjust figure along with all of Alpha 9 for ODST's 15th anniversary last year would had been perfect. Especially since A) The 2023 ODST Drop Pods never got released and B) Microsoft's big push for to make ODST 15th anniversary merch. As the orginal targeted audiences Halo marketed itself towards has moved on or is no longer interested to engage in a series who's best years are long behind us now.

It sucks but there's nothing no one can do about it now that the damage has been done and maybe irreversible after 15 years of screwups in all areas of the franchise. So I try to enjoy the best out of a bad situation.

I know I own both the 2011 and 2023 Elephant. Though I hate the rubber Mega used for wheels and trends from 2009 to 2014. The wheels on the 2011 Elephant's Mongoose disintegrated for no reason despite not touching it in 6 years.

They also harden for some reason before the rubber falls apart.

I do kind of miss the mixed-in multicolor swirling that Mega used to do with their bricks

I always figured it was meant to be a way to try and hide some of the imperfections in their brick quality but the effect still looked nice

So I found out that Mantic Games (The company that makes the current range of Halo miniatures) also makes something that works as a tolerable Marine proxy

For their game that uses similar rules to Flashpoint

Tbh it's not that hard

I was super nervous at first but it's basically an extruded square in the upper arm, with a hollow square on the shoulder pad that surrounds that, with a drop of glue that attaches them. Get a very very thin flathead screwdriver and go around all for edges and continue to press into the gaps around the main square until you get it off. I just glued it right above that square if any of that makes sense

I think whatever 343i did was bring out new features and experiences that were expected to be there… people can say keep it original all the way through but most developers would never want that… they did well with Halo 4 campaign, multiplayer was eh, Halo 5 Multiplayer was amazing and the campaign was definitely a rollercoaster experience… Halo Infinite multiplayer is largely a polished experience from all of their recent games making it really enjoyable and the campaign was a expansion into the ODST experience… it worked alright but just needed more campaign than what was provided. I really wish they brought out a Spartan Ops sort of expansion into Halo Infinite but I expect they would hold off on that sort of feature until there upcoming installments. All in all, navigating through Xbox and Microsoft senior executive choices must’ve been Hell but they did alright. Halo 5 had really great weapons and weapon lore. Including armor and armor lore.

I believe a lot of 343i's shortcomings come from being expected to do too much too fast. Also a bit of over ambition/scope creep

343 could've done well, they really could've, but Bungie had hit after hit in an infinitely shorter amount of time. It's just to corporate now, there's no clear vision.

They pumped out halo 2 in an unfinished state in their eyes, the game was amazing. Reach came out 3 years after H3 came out and odst was also released in that time. Halo 3 was made in 2 years

343 had so much time to develop infinite but were screwed over by management and come and go workers and obviously the development of the game engine at the same time, it's a train wreck

I think Infinite's short-comings stem far back to the foundation of the studio. Halo 4 was their first project, they had to build a team, learn to develop and ship a game together, understand Halo's engine and gameplay mechanics to a tee, work with hardware that was nearing it's end, all the while make a worthy sequel to one of the most well regarded series of games ever released.

I think they needed to have
A: More time
B: A more low-key project to get their boots in the mud with. Rather than be pushed right into making massive project after massive project

To be clear, I do like all of 343i's Halo games on some level. Halo 4 being as good as it was is truly something to behold. 5's multiplayer, while yes a departure from some of the series DNA, was a ton of fun. And Infinite's core gameplay is the best aspects of Halo all packaged togethet

I think Microsoft had the expectation that they could keep the train rolling at the same pace if they threw enough money at it. Which might've had some short term gains, but ultimately hurt the series in the long term

I got the Halo 2 20th set and it's really cool, though I do have some notes:
The hands on the Red Multiplayer Spartan refuse to grip any of the weapons. I checked, and it's not an issue with the pieces because all the other figures hold them just fine.
2- awesome as this set is, I kind of wish they swapped out Thel's gold armor for a proper Arbiter figure. But beggars can't be choosers ig
3- Also a Heritic Elite to go with the Grunt would've been cool

Oh also idk why Johnson's face looks like that lol.

I get the "20 figures for the 20th anniversary" angle, but I think a Heritic Elite, Miranda Keyes, Lord Hood, Sesa 'Refumee, and a Jackal Sniper (because it's Halo 2) would fit right in

Does some knowledgeable halo player know If these are indeed real or just fakes pushed by some scammer?
