I own both, there are quite a lot of small differences, listing them all would take a while
The sticks are indeed different and can be adjusted in tension, however they also have a significant drift as a result (more than any other controller I know)
Hair triggers have one more setting and now interpret their 1-100 range accordingly in that setting instead of just capping below
I like the coating better yeah, it also feels more solid whereas v1 is soft plastic. The v1 coating kinda feel apart when I had to repair it once or twice (big weakness in the LB button breaking repeatedly on v1, plus sticks getting loose), it never fit quite right again
Overall I'd say get the v2 for sure unless the large stick drift is a deal breaker

I would advise against using Bluetooth for competitive, in testing it has shown really bad latency. It's fine for casual use, but for competitive you either want it plugged in (best) or the proprietary Xbox adapter which is nearly as good as cable

this advice literally works at all ranks lol. its just the lower down the more of an impact it will have. but more higher ranked tips....try to predict enemy movements and spawns, you dont need to rush the objective or die trying to hold the ball, run the flag or cap the zone. you can drop the flag and ball to concentrate on fighting and then pick it up after rather than die trying to squeeze a tiny bit of extra time or distance for the objective. and the zone can always be capped after the danger is gone. they are usually open areas with little cover and so staying there makes you an easy target....learn the weapon spawns and timings and control the important ones and deny the enemy possession of them by trying to kill them as they go for it when you are in cover overlooking them rush into danger to try and get them

Little things combined together like weapon matchups, positioning in fights, flanking, enemy positions simaltanously and generally building up a "Meta mind" to make more large scale decisions in each match can make or break your games.
My best tip - If you find yourself in a situation where you hesitate, you haven't trained that specific response yet.
When you can snap and deal with a situation on a heartbeat, you know you're prepared for that specific scenario. It's purely a buildup of fast and effective corrections in your gameplay.
Aim is good but knowing your enemies choices and forcing them into a disadvantage makes killing them easier.

I've been outgunned because I was caught with a weapon I wasn't honed on. I knew to prepare my aim more and fast speed my reactions with it
I soon realised I lacked at hitting targets close to me so I focused on fast, high movement mouse aim.

Once you figure opponents moves then it’s easy, I’ve had so many comebacks in every game mode just by adjusting. And just know when to relocate and move on
And know how to use frags around the map and bang them off the walls and your surroundings, for extra time or to finish off your opponent

basically royal 2 had an investigation on him done by 343 to deem wether or not he was geo filtering (geo filtering is manipulation of in game servers to not connect you to a server over a certain ping threshold). 343 deemed royal 2 was guilty of doing so. royal 2 is from canada so it would make sense for him to do something like this. although it held up the tourney by multiple hours so much so the tourney went on until 4 am EST

That seems like a pretty large routing outage and would have some logging or visibility on where the breakdown occurred on the ISP end. Now I obviously haven't seen what was provided by his ISP and if that was the case than it should clear him of all wrongdoing.
Otherwise you have to imply that it was done a the router/device level which would be near impossible to "prove" without physical access to devices that could have been altered to achieve this.
Reasonable suspicion without other concrete evidence such as the above ISP level logging or outages would be enough to make an informed decision.
Honestly he probably just forgot to disable it before tournament after was using in matchmaking for the week. Which to be clear I wouldn't blame him for doing, I blacklist most services in APAC region for this reason in any game I play. Most online services (websites and such can be whitelisted if absolutely needed from these regions).
TL;DR makes sense to me when you think about the totality of details available to the public.
I can't imagine he'd have done it willingly as it would hurt his team overall in theory based off their locations, just what makes sense from the details.

This is true, when you connect to a match in Halo Infinite each player pings all available servers for the speeds then it picks the best available out of the average. So if an East and West coast player both matchmake chances are you will see a Midwest server being used more than East or West. During this process every player pings every server, it’s a quick process.
In R2s case he actively blocked every US server except Seattle, so when that server selection happened the only he could connect to was Seattle so it forced the match onto those server as his ping was N/A for every other server.
In large matchmaking I’d wager this isn’t a huge issue since there are hundreds from each locale, but here there were 9 people connecting and when the system said Seattle wasn’t the best but his PC wouldn’t connect anywhere else that caused the lobby issues.

But I see where his head was at, wanting LAN performance at an online event. The only main battering ram hitting these castle doors of sentinels was that it interfered within the files, and swallowing the only evidence really just pushed the envelope of “maybe” to “we definitely have a problem.” GG Sentinels, there’s always the Open.

this is 100% not geofiltering. it's 100% small ISP issues with routing tables. it happens all the time, but people normally dont experience it in the US because we only have like 3 mega ISPs serving most of the country that will have a route (even if sub optimal). a regional ISP might just not have a route for a while because of BGP table sizing and freshness

they discover routes on the internet, entire routes can be missing from a newly setup node at an ISP
so then you don't get a connection to certain IP's because the ISP's router literally doesn't know how to route it. smaller ISPs have this problem.
the day before the event he got a new fiber line installed, very likely this line was fresh and its BGP tables were not complete when he started using it.

Welp I don't have a whole lot to say so I'll keep the brief. To see the news that Royal 2 was geo-filtering and that Sentinels are taking the downfall for it as a whole is upsetting to see. I'll still support Sentinels from here on out but Royal 2 has some explaining to do. I don't know a whole lot about how servers work or whatever but what I hope happens is that the rest of Sentinels get back on their feet and do whatever it takes to prove that they don't need Royal 2 or geo-filtering. Granted it seems to be a challenge to get another player by tomorrow but I believe that they can get someone to fill his role. I'm disappointed, I'm annoyed and you can espond to me however you like, like I said I don't know everything that there is to know.

No one got anyone, it’s just sometimes the simplest conclusion is the right one. BGP routes being broken for 7 of 8 Azure server locations is massive and likely would have been known if it was very widespread - and is a plausible conclusion.

I've found out that while the aim assist is bad, the bigger issue is the bullet magnetism, if that dialed back just a bit from like say how Destiny 2's is, bc that's what it's like rn, then I think it'll be more balanced

I believe it is determined by how much points you get and if you win or lose. So basically if you win and get first place you get more than win and second place etc. Same for losing if you lose and get first place you lose less than if you get 2nd etc

I have drift but it’s not severe to the point where it affects my controls like on some of the older Xbox controllers. Nowhere near as bad as like a switch joy con, to give a comparison.
I think there’s also some settings you can tweak to get rid of the drift in the Xbox app.

if you're watching a stream, and drops are enabled, you can click your profile on twitch on the upper right, there's a drop down menu, and it will tell you how close you are to unlocking the drop
