@pale radish i usually jump into the training academy for a bit before anything. tweak your settings, play some more training, and go from there. open up customs and check maps, see what the jumps are, etc. and always try to find a buddy to party up with

No. It’s really good, it has trade offs and advantages but so does controller.

Yeah, you just have to play to their strengths. A good player on M&K will be cracked on something like a sniper. I would say zone control is best suited for them among other things. This is just the first thing that comes to mind.

Very interesting. I wasn't going to make it personal. It just seems intuitive to understand that handicapping one input method in a cross-play scenario lowers the competitive integrity. I'm not attacking controller gamers, I was one until 2 years ago when I switched to pc for overwatch esports.

They are all ready handicapped with out aim assist. You can’t aim properly with a joy stick so they give them aim assist. It’s like giving someone who broke their leg a crutch, they need it.

Get champ, then you need a large social media following then you need a team, then you need to do lan tournaments and then work your way up to play against the highest level players and prove your better than them and they will ask you to join their team since you can benefit then by winning tournaments and therefore give both them and you a profit

Meh you could but, I'd say just mostly focus on yourself, ALWAYS stay positive and do callouts but dont get mad if nobody responds, its just that sometimes they WILL and then it might give you an extra win
But for sure making sure YOU are doing good is the most important, if you start focussing on your teammates then you're always gonna get mad, you're playing as solo so your teammates will always be bad, in onyx as well :)

Yes, it’s a 20 year old franchise that started when PC gaming was in its infancy. There is no reason 343 shouldn’t be trying to modernize its game, they have done it on many other fronts. Right now they are turning away most of the competitive PC gamers because they can’t compete with controller players at all. They have the data right in front of them, all they need to do is turn down the AA a bit to bring the accuracies closer.

I mean, how many Xbox controllers are sitting in inventory atm? What kind of product do the vested interests want the HCS to be? most if not all current pros are using controller. most of these pros came from former halo pro scenes. yes the aim assist is decently strong, but this was a console only game for a very long time. i would imagine when some people get used to the game on mouse and keyboard there will be a mixed input pro scene. but it won't happen overnight and if it doesnt happen 343 need to look into possibly nerfing some of the aim assist. PS also not trying to argue just my take

i would highly recommend watching some NA teams. more specifically C9, Sentinels, OpticGaming. Those were the top 3 from the NA tourney last weekend. and Sentinels is stacked with 4 top 10 of all time halo players including players like royal 2 and lxthal

Same. I converted to PC from Xbox for Overwatch so I could play club collegiate for the last few seasons. It was scary, and there is stuff to learn, but relatively quick and painless. Interestingly, this semester's season was our first which had cross play. Aim assist for console was turned off.

i hate to admit it but my first mouse and keyboard game was league of legends, and I started that game late 2019. prior to that everything was controller. now I'm hybrid leaning more towards mouse and keyboard. but still have very little experience in first person shooters. but i chose to put in the time and learn the mouse and keyboard with this specific halo bcuz it felt so good on mouse and key

normally it would be. god only knows with the rona on the loose. although other than the california event, it seems most events are in red states (not to be political) meaning there might be live audiences.
