i suggested this before. hcs should have a separate discord catered to all competitive players. they need a place to grow in the scene, to build relations, discuss games and it'll be a quick avenue for delivering news. much like how mlg forums were back in the day. we shouldn't have to rely on twitter (where everyone tries to be over the top professional) so there's barely any discussion.

My fear is that HCS teams will restrict their recruitment pools to playing only on Xbox and not let pc players get involved. i guess this was two question type post but i didnt really know how to word it.

i do not think the HCS events will be played on Xbox, as professionals they should be given the best tools to do the job and no console is gonna be able to compete with a PC. i acc think the only reason HCS isnt alr on PC is because H5 isnt ported to PC

I have heard Halo Infinite will be 'esports ready' like F1 2021. On a console, will I get the option to play in controller-only games? I hate how keyboard and mouse is seeping into controllerland and how 'cross platform' play

Might i put my 2 cents in here? I played on Xbox for nearly 10 years and found that after the switch to pc there are still controller players that can slap me in halo. yes i may be able to aim more precisely but controllers still get aim assist giving you a much larger margin of error when trying to be precise. on all the games that i play cross platform i find that there isn't really a large divide between the two. i think games like CS:GO and Valorant have created this idea that pc in any game is king. which i would say from personal experience is not entirely true.

I believe the hope is fps talent from other games will flock to the HCS. What Shootzy and Huke have done with Halo and Cod. Sinatraa has done with other titles.

RIP lol. Just asking because I've captained one of our University's Overwatch teams since Fall 2020 and been involved since Fall 2019. Our overall Esports club has a Halo section which has seen a lot more activity since the Infinite Flights started. There's definitely interest so if anybody knows anything, my dm's are wide open about next semester!

Strongholds has three points(as in locations) . if a teammate is on one, they start capturing that point. If you have more points captured than the other team, you start to gain score. First team to a certain number of score points wins. That the gist of it

Good evening,
I have a question about the Pool Play for the Halo Major Raleigh, for what I understood this will be like a qualifier where 16 teams around will qualify in it, and they will get travel and accommodation paid and in this okay, but in the Team passes section I read that: "including those starting in pool play. Once those teams qualify for pool play ahead of the event, we will provide a refund." this it means that to play the qualifier for the Pool Play, I need to pay it? Or just the 16 teams that will qualify in it need to pay entrance and after if they qualify for championship they will get refund?
I hope as well that if there is a qualifier like I guess for it is going to be announced soon when and I really hope you don't need to pay to just play a qualifier and not the event.

Orgs are basically a waste of your time unless you have enough placements in tournament to show that you're worth it. Play matchmaking, practice. See how you do. If you aren't destroying people in matchmaking, don't waste your money going to LANs.

To add to what quips said, If you arent destroying and playing really well in matchmaking try tuning into high level players streams and taking notes from their example. Several of them like saiyan/lucid have vids breaking down do's & don'ts based on view submitted vods. Halo's skill gap is 1 part aim, 1 part awareness, 1 part on the moment decision making and 1 part experience.
Almost no one just walks into halo and naturally becomes a pro. Some pick up the best aspects faster than others, but halo takes a lot to be great. If you put in the time and dont beat yourself up over mistakes and impatience.

Find any local places to you that are doing halo tournaments and reach out to them.
Go on sites like noobcombo to see what online tournaments there are for you to cast and contact the organisers through social media or email.
Reach out to smaller competitive streamers ask if its okay if you can take their footage and do commentary over it, upload to YouTube. Also make sure that they are credited once approved, put down their socials stream link etc in the video

For official tournaments perhaps yeah, but that doesn't mean you can't play in third party tournaments in the meantime. You can still get your name out there internationally by competing in those tournaments you're allowed to play in, creating content and upping social media.
it'll be a harder road than it already is, but you just gotta focus on things you can control
