Does someone know what the planning usually is like for HCS London?

Like if I want to do something in the evening, will I be able to? Or does the event finishes at 10pm Monday, Saturday and Sunday?

The schedule for the event will be posted give or take a week out

First HCS London event, but I have to imagine that it follows the same set up as other HCS events. Meaning that Friday and Sunday it starts at noon. Saturday at 10:30am. Typically Friday and Saturday ends around 9pm and Sunday around 7pm. All local time of course.

While there is of course a chance that 64 might not be reached - if 48 are basically already spoken for, I could easily see 1-2 more MX teams, 4-5 more NA teams, and some last minute EU teams pulling up.
adding 16 more, I think it's pretty safe that at minimum 10 would be filled.

Compared to the Feb ones, NA has dropped, EU has maintained their peak, MX has almost maintained, and ANZ has slightly dropped

Overall so far I think it's as expected. Given the next tournament is in London, I could see why NA teams might be less likely to sign up, while the other regions remain relatively stable.

Possibilities yes, feasibilities not really. We don't have a big staff, and we have not received any new blood with Infinite (more like the opposite -2) and the community is almost dormant too (and very negative to not say more for the other) . We prefer to concentrate on Infinite "content", the Waypoint chronicles, developpement, updates, marketing, sometimes the merch and HCS (when i have the time).... And the book when they exist too.
But as you can see in the #community-servers we are not very acknowledged by 343 in this period (even if we work with French editors for translation of books, and we tried to offer help for Infinite's poor translation, without any avail)

Interesting point of discussion:

Quadrant has crept up to be really close to Foe in points again.
Foe is not allowed to compete this coming weekend in the Qualifier - but the Qualifier yields HCS points.
It's likely that Quadrant will actually enter London with more HCS points than Foe.

Imagine Quadrant and Foe end up placing in the same 'range' at London (say, 5/6, 7/8 or 9-12 etc.) - they would earn the same # of points from the Major.

This would mean that because Foe isn't allowed to play in this qualifier, that Quadrant could seemingly be seeded higher AFTER London than Foe, even though the might place the same at the event

I don't think there's a scenario where all the teams below Sen and C9 could earn enough points to knock either of them out of a pools spot - even if Sen and C9 didn't play at all this weekend.

The answer to the question is Proton needs a really good qualified. That would be crazy if they didn’t get a pool spot talent wise, but it is in play.

We are at the point in competitive Halo that the top talent has all risen to the top. I honestly think D is the weakest, even if you think Shopify is an equal to the “Top3” teams. Still Deciding is definitely the worst team in pools. For reference, I don’t think Monster has ever beaten a NA team in pools in Halo Infinite. Not sure about EU. I imagine they get fourth with the top team in Open taking third.

The Optic Blog has turned into a "results" blog - and all the previously announced details about how the event would run and take place have been removed.
It's a shame they both can't exist.

Hey, the landing pages are designed to be in a 'PRE' and 'POST" state. Having old info creates bloat and a slower experience for users that want to know information quickly in relation to where they are at in the event production timeline.

I understand that part of it - I just wonder if there would be a way to archive the old version, in a way that it's still findable, but not to confuse people?
Perhaps some drop down menus or something?

I don't really know how to articulate it, but it would be cool if there was a way to see that info even post event, while still achieving what you mention above.

It's minor, to be fair.
But the kind of stuff we see on the London blog right now.

Optic blog no longer contains some good info on how the event is run:
-Tournament format is gone
-FAQ is gone
(These are useful for people to compare to future events)

The rest of the stuff changing, like tickets, travel, hotel etc. that all makes sense.

I also like the recap that exists on the Optic page, including links to VODs.
I also like the 'up next' section giving a quick preview of London, on the Optic tournament page.

Recently heard that 343's pro team is playtesting Uneeq's new Sanctuary remake (looks amazing), and I wanted to ask the pro team: what is the process of choosing and adding forge maps to Ranked Arena and HCS? So far, 3 out of the 4 forge maps in Ranked Arena are remakes, and since Fortress (an original map) is rumored to be added in the near future, I wanted to know how often the pro team considers original maps vs remakes. Is it mostly just through word-of-mouth that they find maps and consider playtesting them, or do they check out the Content Browser themselves on a moderate basis? I'm not saying "no more remakes" but I do wish "more original maps" was the focus.

You might get a response on Twitter though.

My understanding is that the do some word of mouth, and there's also the option to put specific tags on your maps you make in forge (and this can get their attention in content browser etc.)

I think 343 has even put out specific requests for maps to get made and tagged with it, before.

There have been a few blogs over the years talking about ranked, maps, and fogre creation.

I see the forge creation blogs when they post them. I know 343i in general does look at a lot of new maps for matchmaking, but it seems very narrow in selection/variety when it comes to Ranked Arena and HCS specifically.

Yeah, they don't make too many changes to HCS, and even those limited changes come infrequently.

I coulda sworn that way back, Tashi said during a Spartan Chatter podcast that the pro team was looking at rotating a new forge map for Ranked Arena every 1-2 months. It was around the time that Solitude was getting added, and I thought it was a really good plan to help keep the the playlist somewhat fresh, especially for ppl like me who play Ranked Arena majority of the time.

But I'm at least hopeful that we get to see Fortress and Origin (Coli remake) get added to the playlist pretty soon.
