A grand finals reset is only if necessary.

Basically, 2 teams face in the grand finals.

Team 1 gets in by winning the "Winners finals" (and therefore have not lost a series in the bracket)

Team 2 gets into Grand finals by having won the "losers finals" meaning they have lost 1 series during the bracket at some point (which is why they were in the loser finals)

Since it is a double elimination tournament, the team 1 had an 'advantage' in that if they won the grand finals that's it- they win

Team 2, if they win the grand finals, it means both teams have now lost 1 series.
So the grand finals gets "reset" and it's winner takes all on the reset

Yesterday we saw the Faze i was expecting and was afraid of when they picked up Renegade. A true dominant team and the main reason why for me it's difficult to root for them is i don't like to cheer for the favourites, because that's what they were all year long in my mind. Kudos to Optic and SSG that really put up a fight but i think it will be very difficult going forward. I don't see any of the current rosters being able to stop Faze and after this win they'll be even more confident. They 3-0'd Sentinels, SSG and won 8 games in row against Optic. Unbelievable run.

The only thing i didn't like yesterday was that some of them didn't go for the fist bump at the end. I think only Snakebite did? Not showing respect to your competitors it's a classless act imo, especially when you win.

The timing is odd to me on this. Right after worlds is not when teams are dropping people and making changes generally. This makes me think that he either has something lined up or more likely, retirement.

You have no idea what’s going on in his life. Plus Top8 at Worlds is 25k, so assuming he got 20% of it he made 5k. That’s the big payout at the end of the season. Got less than that at the other events. It’s a grind.

There is a big difference between making that money when you’re 20 years old and when you’re married at 30 years old like he is.

I disagree- right after worlds is not uncommon for a few immediate changes.

Contracts are often only good until the end of the 'season' and if they had no intention of renewing, making the annoucement right away allows both parties to begin pursuing their next options.

So the question is does the next four teams make a change for him? N8V White, C9, G1, Complexity, or LVT? I don’t think N8V White moves on from Mikwen and I don’t see those two together. So my best guess is G1 or C9 builds around Noob assuming he is on board and doesn’t retire.

I feel like when you put two OGs together that aren’t quite as quick as these younger kids, it is a disaster. I think Lethul and Nick together was a good example of that. I think for Noob the formula for success will continue to be him plus two or three slay heavy high damage gunners.

I think nick's an outlier because of how objectively inconsistent he is and realistically always has been. Both lethul and nick have placed top 2 at an Infinite event with seasoned vets surrounding them
