That said, this is why you don’t see these partnership spots go to smaller teams because in most cases they either don’t have funds (that are sustainable) or a real business plan.

In practice, having the winners final determine the tournament winner 95% of the time is boring.

It makes what should be the most intense series of the tournament, the finals, into a "I wonder how far they can get" and not "I hope they win"

There can be a balance here. Dota 2 also uses a losers bracket system, it doesn't have a bracket reset for the finals and is still both fair and a ton of fun to watch

(N8V and Quadrant might be flipped depending on HCS determining of seed.)

Yes a lot of CEOs do make that kind of money. But a lot of them make big money on stock warrants. I think esports is doomed if we are paying out over 1M a year before even taking into consideration player salaries, travel, etc. CEOs need to be 150-200 and other officer’s need to be 100-150, aka half of what they are making. Everyone gets warrants and make it work to get really paid if you can take it public.

That’s my point exactly. CEO for Sentinels is making $360k a year. He also has received 396,000 warrants so far, which their shares are being valued at $3.15 in this crowdfunding round. So 1.25M in shares for him as well.

This is the problem in esports. They shouldn’t be run by guys that want to get rich off of it and are more passion based. Yes compensate them and nicely, but he makes way too much for a company that is failing and in an industry that struggles.

@torpid beacon He very well might be. I know when Infinite first game out and he won with C9 I thought he was then. Still clear that he, Lucid, and Renegade are in a tier of their own. Last LAN was the best and most consistent performance I have seen in Infinite. I don’t think you can just say No and dismiss it.

If people want to say it’s still Lucid, that’s fine. He is incredible too. But Stellur is pretty amazing and might be the best in the game right now.

Then 4 NA teams on points, and 2 EU teams on points. One will be Navi, not sure on the other one.
Then it's just 1 each from MX and ANZ - and that's determined by a special tournament at Ft Worth just for them.
