I mean, after reach fell I assume money didn't matter anymore and they just had to make equipment as fast as possible to prepare. Operation endgame meant that it's likely humanity was going extinct and it was time to go down swinging. You think instead of paying people, they'd just hand out food and water and keep the lights on indefinitely even with a lack of playing bills?

I mean,the mark v took over two and a half decades to make. And after reach, we got the mark VI in mere months. I don't think it was about economics or ethics anymore. It was about "oh crap, the covenant know where we are. Get this equipment out yesterday."

Considering the infinity and the eternity's original purposes, humanity was going to leave earth with as big a population as they could fit on both ships and probably more. Oni themselves didn't even think humanity could win.

I'm really not a fan of it. I would much rather be able to buy the pass when I want, that or be able to browse the exchange shop with all items. The whole part about giving you a time limit to complete get things, or rotating things in and out of a shop randomly just doesn't sit well with. I feel like it's creating artificial urgency to intice people to impulse buy rather than providing an enjoyable experience. I understand a game has to pay it's bills, but if it has to resort to these tactics, I don't know if I want to invest my free time into that sort of thing.

I'm just sad and disappointed.

You’re better playing in release order, a lot of Reach’s narrative weight relies on you having context from the trilogy.

And as others have said going from Reach with Sprint etc. into CE is going to suck to adapt to.

Also recommend playing CE on classic graphics, partially for atmosphere partially for gameplay since the new textures overwrite terrain in ways that can mess up your shots.

Just like I wouldn’t recommend someone watch Rogue One before the OT.

In fact, Infinite does have side missions/objectives in the campaign, such as the HVTs and Banished Outposts
