Hey has anyone made a game mode based off the DB super atournament of power .. like a copy of that arena and every few minutes part of it falls apart.

It's going to a lot Ng process as I have like zero experience with Forge. But in my head I have an idea of what I want to happen so Hopefully I can pull.something off.
The idea is really when you get knocked off the arena you respawn in a audience stand... And your stuck there till the end of the round or you can Quit.. but I want to incorporate something there so it's.not boring.
Than I want the arena to be on the same 45 minute timer... Everyone starts with grav hammer and Grapple hook. Each 10 or 5 minutes the arena falls apart... Firs the whole outer edge despawns .. and some floating debry spawns in... And after that Random large Pillers spawn in but other junks of the Arena Spawn out. And the Center Piller slowly despawns every 5 minutes to it has to have 45 seperate parts to despawn.
So. Y the end of it the arena is a huge broken mess so navigating it woman's trying not to fall off becomes more complicated. Actually maybe I'll just do 20 minutes I either wanted to make it a 12v12 arena or a 24 player FFA
Would it be possible to script a multi-weapon inventory like doom?
Obviously you couldn't make a hud for it, but like a number of weapons you can cycle through?

go on a scripting strike until they're fixed and there's documentation on how the nodes work and the limit is increased. Also no default flashlights is pathetic.

AR: commando but when you ping it switches the commando, in commando 1 if you zoom it turns into a neddler but only when you zooming. commando 2 turns into a sniper rifle and again only if you zooming. all the weapons should work the same

Anyone think about remaking the Banished training grounds with the towers and trenches inside the campaign when you fight waves of different enemies. I figured with all the Banished style maps we have created, that no one has decided to create that specific part of the campaign for a squad battle or BTB map

Ok the thing is that gravity lifts are a bit bugged so try making a prefab of the gravity lifts in argyle and that should fix it now for the teleporters I can probably help you when your free

I am trying to play halo 5 forge on pc and it will not let me in. I get the the title screen where it asks me to sign it but it will not let me sign in. It says, account required. I click okay, sign in window appears for like 1 second and then disapears and says account required.
I already removed the Halo app since it causes problems
Yeah I do, from what I have figured out it's a server sync issue, generally I'll know it's going to happen because blocks I'm duplicating won't spawn in predictable places, when that happens I always save and hard reset because where ever those blocks dup at is where they will move to with that glitch.

How do I get things to to scale in forge? Like making them bigger or smaller. And I’m mean automatically (you can see it grow and shrink right in front of you). I tried SvE mythic, but that only changes the size once you’ve gone into a costume game.

I would help but i ONLY make minigame maps for playlistws me and my friends plathrough when we get tilted

@errant quarry it happened to me once when I accidentally deleted a prefab with a lot of angled pieces and hit undo and saved the map when I loaded the map, the pieces were all over the place

Yo can someone help me out with a forge issue. Sometimes I design a map and it’s all good, runs perfect. Other times I design a map and 50% of everything I place moves around, phases into walls, or goes all wonky after every save. Am I doing something differently? Or how do I avoid this? Or am I simply SOL?

There's no openings for voice actors, however body actors are always needed. Lately on off days it has been a little bit hard to get people on if there are scenes that need to be shot, which is where you come in
There is a community behind us already, but there can always be more, and there's always stuff going on in the server whether it be other people who need help, or possibly even voice acting if you'd like to get into that as well

In that instance the host would be fine for a while, but if you were playing with friends, whatever they built ended up looking like they just spammed items around the map

You have to use a one-way blocker and an effect.

hello chat, i am forging a campaign mission in forge and i am trying to make a reliable checkpoint system using scripting, however my results have not been satisfactory, anyone know a good script?
I can't script but am interested in this idea
Try using Integers to mark what checkpoint you're at, and then make Lists using that integer as the index for whatever variables you have for each checkpoint.
Do the forge ai naturally respawn?
that sounds good, i found another way to make it consistent but not sure about a fireteam. besides that, my ai system is also making me lose sleep and i need to know how to spawn multiple ai zones through one trigger without the global log yelling at me

Anyone know how to only make one hill spawn in King of the Hill? I had to use Generic Zones for AI purposes, but it spawns a random amount of zones everytime I spawn in. Any help?

Power Seeds are the only items in the game that can be slotted / removed from another object, making them pretty powerful for scripting.

So, I have this idea to take the elimination mode from siege and recreate it. Basically kill 32 enemies on a map. As long as your team mates are alive you can respawn.

You can set your spawner to operate using a stopwatch system for infinite spawning. Unfortunately percentage spawning based on waves is quite buggy and impractical right now.
I can write down a full copy of my script whenever I'm awake later if you want.

Hi, I was wondering how I could set some ai to be on the same team as survivors, and other ai to be the same team as infected? For infection
It's not really reliably possible right now in any way that works well. I've been using a workaround: set game mode to attrition, load 3 or 4 bots into enemy team, kill them for score.
You effectively integrate the bots into the AI wave spawning and treat them as super units or bosses. It's worked pretty well on my system so far but it's not exactly ideal.
The only downside to this is that players can join into the enemy team via custom browsers so it turns into firefight slayer between covenant and unsc, which is okay but not traditional firefight. You can force players to change their team to the unsc faction via script but it can't distinguish between Spartan bots and players so doesn't work.
Edit: the guy below posted a good fix for maps with only covenant enemies, absolutely use his method. You can also prevent griefing by forcing players to stay in eagle team via the 'on Respawn > set team' commands.
Well I learned yesterday morning that the a.i doesn't give you a kill count so for every kill I set it to raise the team score
On AI Unit Killed <------- --->Adjust Team Points
Set the team to eagle
And set the score adjustment to 1.00
In your game settings set the point limit to however many enemies you plan to spawn.

I'm playing around with this on a map using both friendly and hostile AI. Is there a designation that allows you to specify that only specific species give team points?
I've found the block for specifying species on AI death but can't find a way to link that to the adjust team point action block.
Yes change the team where it says eagle on the "adjust team points. But for them to score it would be "On player death"
I think it's called on player death, or you want something like that. I haven't scripted it out just yet, but in theory I'm sure this is the reverse of that

Right now killing the marines simply awards team eagle points, I mean is there a where to specify only alien species of a specific type award points, to avoid farming marines?
Unless they count as players for the purposes of your player death chunk.
Well the Marines and the aliens count as the a.i category
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but I'll look into it. Im only day 3 into the forge lol
I guess a workaround is to just only have a couple marines on the map with a lengthy respawn timer to prevent farming.
That way it's impractical and doesn't really matter as you'll need hundreds of points to win score wise.
One of the issues with the script right now is that you can't easily specify between friendly and hostile marines, so you have to build around it. Maybe we'll get more options with the forge update.

Unfortunately you can't actually specify it look at what team AI is on when performing most event actions, it's an oversight on the part of the Devs.

Yeah the issue is they've set the AI script up a bit weird. You can't link specifications to events properly so there are dead ends. For example you can request that the game check the species or squad label of an AI, but you then can't actually do anything with that information as there's seemingly no way to link that block to event outcomes or changes based on the logic we have.

Does anyone know how to control individual AI units in Forge? I’m making a Chess Combat Evolved game mode and the object reference node doesn’t work with referencing an A.I.
It took a couple days to finish and balance test but I've released a fully functional 4 player firefight map and mode.
Search for "Firefight: Resurgence" in the browser to bookmark it for use. Has a game mode but any type of arena slayer with 400% shield bonuses works too.
Scoring is as follows: 1 AI kill = 1 score. Hit the cap to win. Kills grant personal score so it will also award battlepass xp.
It took me almost like an hour to build a huge wall with glasses, figuring everything out in forge and my brain already is kinda exhausted lmao

As writing this, halo just crashed for no reason.. there's the wall of an hour gone lolz
My forge crashed like 30 times during creation, but I had a template map to work with that made it easier. Working out workarounds for the code was the hardest part outside of balancing.

The turret prop wasn't even supposed to be out because 343 didn't finish importing it's functionalities to forge, but they decided to let us use it earlier anyways, rn it acts more as an environmental danger or art prop instead of an actual scriptable turret.

I just uploaded the script for endless wave spawning into the share/self-help tab and thought I should link it here too.
This is the template used to create slayer firefight. Allows for endless timed wave spawning and generates slayer score and personal score per AI unit killed. The game is rather unstable though and will crash after 4 minutes if you keep hitting the 32 AI cap.

It will show a total of team kills and how many points per kill. So it's not just 0s across the board when playing firefights

Get Player, or the output of an On Player Spawn event, something like that that outputs a Player.

Stopwatch setups do that, the link above has examples of everything needed to make firefight work arcade-slayer wise.
Just be aware that anything more than 20 enemies starts to push the engine to it's limit and it'll lag quite a bit.
One of the scripts in the image link above shows how to do that. Look at the bottom of the image for the personal score and team score scripts if you need it.
You need personal score and team score as personal score generates the flag needed to grant battlepass xp.

- spawn a ai move zone and have the vehicle you want the ai to enter within it's radius.
- link that ai move zone to the ai spawn zone (click ai spawn zone settings, scroll all way to bottom and select the proper move zone)
now the ai will spawn, move to zone, and enter vehicle within the zone.

I did try it but the AI registers the very first coordinates they detect the AI move, meaning even if you move the AI Move zone, the Ai will go to the spawn point
I saw the description said they'll stop moving once they reach the zone, that would be a problem too...

Anyone know how to make an ai respawn script work for a specific ai spawner? Bc rn I have a few down and they each have their own brains but they respawn even if they haven't been killed yet even though it's set to only activate after the squad dies
Only one boss is available rn and it's that monitor. Go to gamplay, Ai, and then spawn the ai spawner. Once there go into object properties and go through and select it's units
But first you'll need a navmesh. So before you try that you need to go to gamplay, navmesh, navmesh seed point. Spawn that in and put them down on each terrain area that isn't connected, you'll only need one per floating ground area. If everything is connected just out them down on each corner, and one in the middle. Once that's done hold y on controller and you'll see three options. Quicksave, node graph, and build menu. Select build menu then click nav mesh and continue. It may take a while to generate the nav mesh so be ready for a 5 min wait

I have that set. It's on a timer delay after they die but my problem is the scripting activates on any squad dying and not the one it's linked to. So any other squad that dies first it will spawn this one with its delay even though they are still there. I just need to get the brain to only heed to the squad I have the ai spawner assigned to
So after some testing, it is possible to make events on specific AI squads using squad labels, however, it annoyingly doesn't work on the last remaining AI in the squad.
So each enemy can die and you can check if it was in a specific squad, but the last one won't work, presumably because the squad doesn't exist anymore.
Maybe it's possible using Waves instead?
That could work but I have a singled out ai I don't want to include on the wave settings and have respawn after it's death. And due to it being in a separate location it may interfere with the waves preventing them from spawning
Guess it's not possible, then. We should probably submit a support ticket about that thing I mentioned where the last AI in a asquad loses its label, maybe they'll fix that.
Idk bc even the spawner has a squad in its object properties, idk why it doesn't read that off in the scripts. But honestly there should be a respawn option without scripts in my opinion

I've been working on automatically respawning spawners on a fixed interval, with different patterns for selecting which spawner to trigger.
My general flow is On GameplayStart -> For N Iterations (100) -> Sleep for N Seconds -> Branch : Condition ( Get AI on Team < 15 or [16 - squad size] to keep teams even) -> Trigger Spawner
So far I've used an object list of spawners and gotten a random one from it
A large generic list of spawners in a discreet spawn order ( object lists don't seem to allow duplicate entries )
An object list that iterates through, and on a failed spawn attempt that entry just gets skipped (so Spawner A, then B, then C spawn, but if there's too many Eagle Team AIs, spawn D will get skipped, and maybe Spawner A will make it on the next clock cycle)
A weighted randomization with dynamically adjustable weighting, so 20% chance for Spawner_Grunt_A, and 2% chance for Spawner_Banished_Hunters
but then later in the match its a 2% chance for grunts, and 20% chance for hunters

Well I can tell you from experience that throwing a ball into a zone and getting a point works. And if "capturing" it is necessary, you can make a timer before the point scores, or stop it if the ball leaves the zone.
I think this might be a setting in the game mode itself.

Prefabs glitch out sometimes, try highlighting it instead of just clicking it.

as a learning experience I'm plugging Marine AI into the infection gametype but they're enemies to both teams.
Pretty sure Eagle is survivors and Cobra is infected, unless they changed it for some reason.
Did you set the AI spawner to Eagle?
in previous games this is how it is, I went to the forgehub and someone else was having the same issue. Basically it's not done the same way it was before. Infection is a weird variant of FFA now. so you can't distinguish them without scripting nodes that can distinguish Survivor/Infected.
And... I don't know how scripting nodes work at all.
I know you can set units to have FFA allegiance to a certain team, so it could very well be scriptable.
I'm sure it is. my issue is that I'm not sure where to even start to learn how to do such a thing.

Well, you can look up scripting tutorials and try to understand how it works, or I could help you out.
for me learning scripting was a slow start i watched a lot of youtube vids. if you work piece by piece there are often vids based on scenarios you want in your map, from opening doors to spawning ai to creating waves of ai.
like your charging brutes, it will involve ai spawner that spawn brute berserkers, ai move zones linked to that spawner so they move where you want, and perhaps an area entered by player or switch interacted by player that triggers their spawning. these scenarios require some extra scripting but youll learn them quick. and of course a generated nav mesh so they spawn and move around your map properly.
this is just text vaguery but i can share pictures or youtube vids of such scripts.
nav mesh is pretty simple there isn't much involved. you make a map, then go to the build menu (q on PC), which opens up 4 options of generation: Lighting, Nav Mesh, Audio, and Reflection Volumes. then select generate nav mesh, and the game auto generates it with time. if there are sections of the map, say an inside area you built, a sealed off structure you made that the auto nav mesh doesnt reach because there is no natural moveable path to it, you place "nav seeds" that grow an additional nav mesh from their point, after you choose to auto generate the nav mesh again.
you place nav cutters on areas where the nav mesh was auto generated but the ai won't be traveling in at all, or you do not want them to travel. the auto nav mesh generates any area naturally traversable (like a flat zone in corner of map, unused), if an ai were to be there. sorry if this is a giant post i may have gotten carried away

I don't think you can do it as toggle, I guess this is why the Razorback exists. But I think you could make the flag follow you while you're driving in the node graph
Hello random strangers, I have encountered a problem in scripting ai spawns.
What I want to happen is to create a number of ai waves, each wave with progressively higher ranking enemies as the game continues. Currently the plan is to spawn them all in drop ships, but once it “works” then I can edit it to add normal ai spawners, drop pods, etc. the ai will continually progress to the players base, and overrun it, ending the game. Since the idea is to slowly make things more difficult, eventually overwhelming the player completely, there can be little to no time to prepare for each wave. Since there is a hard limit of 32 AI’s at one time, to do all this would require them to be spawning in as soon as the budget allows for it. My theory was by making the “extermination percentage” 1% and using the “delay spawn budget” setting in the wave options node, would allow the next wave to to spawn in as soon as the first enemy of the squad is killed, but also preventing the wave from spawning before there is enough room in the budget. The problem: the delay spawn budget does not seem to work? It does not change anything when it is set it to true or false. What ends up happening is the next wave spawns as many ai as it can up to the budget limit (in this case, spawning one ai at a time). I suspect this is probably not a bug, more likely I am missing something here, like a missing node, or something else I can’t figure out. Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong/what I am missing and explain how to make all of this work properly?

Would anyone know how to script an event to happen if an AI's health reaches a certain percentage? Like once its health gets halfway something happens? I've been trying for a bit but I'm stuck and don't know what to do :/
I think your best bet is a watchdog timer, Every N seconds (0.1) -> Get all AI -> For Each Object -> Get Object Health -> compare (something) -> branch
It might be best to On Squad Spawned -> Get AI from Squad -> add them to an object list, get Object Health, add that value to a different list (to track max health, might need a generic list that you add numbers to).
Then in your timer, don't do Get All Ai, get the Object list, iterate through, and using the same 'current iteration' look up what the max health should be from the generic list -> cast to number

So this is what I had initially, but I had a "Get Squad Variable" set to a specific squad > Get AI Units from Squad, instead of all AI
I'll be honest I'm not familiar with using lists at all so I have no idea how to set that up.
For the compare node, I had a number node set to 75 linked to the B value, then output was A == B
And nothing happened
If you just want it for one single boss unit, here's how to make it work
Make boss spawner have squad label: Sierra,
Declare squad variable, id=s
On Squad Spawned with Squad Label: Sierra -> Set Squad variable, id=s
Every 0.1 seconds --> Branch: condition = (Get Squad Variable, id=s -> Get AI from Squad -> get object at index: 1 -> get object health -> compare, second value = PRECALCULATED HEALTH VALUE, [a < b] )--> Trigger event
If you want the event to only happen once,
throw in a declare boolean variable, id=HasBossEventTriggered = false,
in On Squad Spawned, set boolean variable = false
and then a branch with condition= Get Boolean Variable, if true -> toggle Boolean Variable -> THEN trigger event

Sure is, there's even a node to check of it's power equipment, makes it very easy.

I’m using a reactive water plane with an energy barrier on top of it to create a cool looking effect.
I’ve set both of these planes to a 3° tilt. My issue is that the energy barrier keeps changing its tilt automatically to weird values like 2.76°. I have to constantly change it back.
Why is this happening and how do I prevent it from continuing to happen?

If any of y'all are having issues accessing a map after the update or in general message me I may have found a work around it worked for me and I'd like to test it further and report
I put "trigger the custom event" but it says "the node does not have the required property"
Custom Events require Identifiers. You can make it whatever you want, but it is good to make it descriptive.
"ai_killed_event", "do_reset_scores", "do_open_doors" etc.
Custom Events require a definition, with On Custom Event (or Global / Global,async) specifying what should happen when triggered
The identifiers have to match on the same type of custom event to work.
TriggerCustom Event :id = open_door
On Custom Event : id = open_door -> translate Object to Point
for example

Can anybody help me with map lighting atmosphere stuff?
for map lighting i just watched a bunch of Lighting videos, one by 343, and one by the creator of the map Oracle. It seems anything close to or beyond 3 brightness approaches the way too bright realm. 0.5 or 1.0 Brightness seems to be best most of time, for my map anyway.
A nice way to light is to use Lit objects and then a generic light (invisible to players) to act as an extension of that object's light.
A Reflection Volume helps a ton too, and the technique is shown well in the map Oracle creator's video on youtube. I've only used 1 reflection volume (well 1 in the box and 1 copy in the map area) and am not sure if more are usable per map

Make some object with boundaries that defines the area. In the script, get an Area Monitor variable and connect it to your object reference. Input that area monitor into the event On Object Entered Area, and it will work. Though, you should add a branch to check if the object is a player as well.

Genuine question about drop pods, I’ve seen videos of people using them but I haven’t seen any on how to make them, maybe I’m just being a silly goose and not thinking about Position movement with scripting, but what exactly do I need to do to have a functioning one?

When you say drop pod, do you mean you want Enemy AI to spawn in drop pods, or you want Human players to appear to spawn in drop pods. AI drop pods are just a spawner that works.
Scripting human usable drop pods is more complex, with a few different ways to go about it

Likely that updates messed up your object references. Should be as easy as looking for any nodes that say "Empty".

I know of people working on scripting the Banished drop pod using the props. If you made your own UNSC drop pod, it would have to be entirely out of dynamic pieces, which you cannot resize

You need some object with boundaries set, then you can use that as an "Area Monitor" in the script. Use the event On Object Entered Area connected to that Area Monitor and use Translate Object to Point or similar to open the door.

New forger question: Is there a way to edit out-of-bounds zones, kill zones, and invisible barriers on Dev made maps? Say for example trying to remove a barrier/killzone to let a player stand somewhere not originally intended. Maps I would really like to see the community make are Legendary Maps that people always make but made in a remix way. For example 4v4 maps made for BTB with vehicles and BTB maps scale down to 4v4 maps. They still look the same but play slightly different. Which would give the community a slightly new and different experience to enjoy.
Has anyone figured out how to keep rain from clipping through solid objects? I remember in halo 5 we could do something like that by making nodes inside buildings that filter the rain off the screen

Hey guys, first time posting here and I have a question about scripting nodes.
I have a Variable list that takes in "Get All Players" and I'm trying to access a random item off the list but it seems that the "GET RANDOM N OBJECTS" function doesn't actually return anything.
Does anyone know if this function isn't working in the current build or is there some kind of discrepancy between "object" and "player" even though the game handles them the same.
I can send screens of my current script brain if further clarification is needed.

If you only have 1 player, get random: 1 will NOT work

Thanks for the feedback, I ended up making a VERY SIMPLE work around for what I was trying to achieve. TLDR I was trying to make a multi team game made for the boys and I, My script only works assuming there are 2 teams of 4 (I will have to add polish later)
in a nutshell
For N iterations (n == 2) get all players on team 1, player == random number (rounded up) between 1 and "team size" , set team to 8
on completion do the same thing for team 2
so essentially it should take 2 random members of each team and move them to another team, tested with bots and it worked out beautifully
I will have to add checks for team size and all that jazz in the future but for all intents and purposes this is all I really need atm

you cannot make bots do anything. They added a new Ambition system to bots that should ENCOURAGE them to go somewhere, but I don't know how effective it is
iono i used 6 one-way movement zones directed to the center of a circular drop down and it seemed to work (they were getting stuck running into a wall otherwise)
you should try to make the general flag route as copecitic for them as possible tho cuz they really aren't that smart lol
another option is scripting a one-way movement zone path that only spawns for the flag carrier
i think
something like 'on flag away, spawn prefab X' with X being the movement path
and then 'on flag return, despawn prefab x'
but i am very admittedly unfamiliar with most scripting terms, just general concepts

Maps do convert between devices on Infinte unlike MCC through the cloud, this is extremely useful
It's a very slow server. I've been struggling to find a resource to have active forge discussion myself.
I'm trying to figure out how to script an even to happen when the flag is captured.
You can detect a flag score in a number of ways.
One easy, robust way to check is just to check the score every second (Every N Seconds) for each team (Get Team Points) and store it in a number variable (Set Number Variable) . Before you do that, check the number variable first (Get Number Variable) and compare it to the current score. If they are different, someone scored. Trigger your event based on who scored.
If you need it to be faster than 1 second, you can drop down the Every N Seconds to 0.1.
If you don't like it that way, you can set up an area monitor around the capture zone, and on object entered, check to see if it is the flag carrier. Not sure how it well that method will work with an area the same size as the capture plate

If you want them to do the same thing, use the same identifier and don't use two different events
scripting can be tricky, there's still a decent but of unintuitive stuff, some not-so-fun bugs to find and work around, and no in game search for node types
but having an idea, figuring out how to make it happen, fixing what you broke, is how you learn. I say go for it

The logic is:
every secondn, for each team
check the existing score (get team points)
check the previous score (get number variable)
see if they are the same (compare)
If they are NOT the same, something changed!
save the current score (from get team points) to "previous score" variable (set number variable)
Do whatever we need to for score celebrations
I'm checking "are they the same" by using a > b on the compare node, with b being previous score, and a being current score, then branching if a is greater than b
You could also use a == b and then branch on If False, but that could somehow trigger if the score ever went down? (which it shouldn't but idk what exciting gametypes people come up with)

in my layout of the nodes above, things in ( ) are values set on that node. the -> usually means drag the diamond on the right side of a node to the left side of the next one.
That means "Do this node next"
but there's also inputs and outputs, which are harder to represent in text.
unless otherwise noted, usually you're connecting the outputs to the next nodes inputs. Node outputs can connect to multiple other inputs (get team points connects to Compare AND to Set Number Variable )

Okay, cool idea. What if forge had a tool called "Merge"? Where the name implies, it allows us to merge two objects together and make them one.
that is called Weld
and it exists
You can also make prefabs, but there's limitations to both
Prefabs can be moved around in the editor as a group, but cannot be scripted to move around together (even if every object is dynamic)
Welded objects require Dynamic AND Normal Physics I believe, but can be scripted to move around together more easily

Okay I have a few ideas for forge that 343i would probably never add.
Videos/Cutscenes:
As the name implies, it overlays a video or even a in-game cutscene
Editable Spartans:
You can make the player's Spartan how ever you like, so if you want them to be Master Chief, you can. But it would only be for the gamemode.
Lastly, Linked Maps:
You can add a zone that load you to another map.
All these ideas are mostly for custom campaigns, I think it would some good features.

People have attempted it. It is a little clunky. If you want one that looks like an ODST pod. Good luck. You will have to build one out of dynamic pieces (which cannot be resized)
If you want to use the existing prop for the banished drop pod, you do something along these lines:
Have the doorless drop pod in the "hanger" with the door piece "open"
Animate the door piece closing.
Synchronously move both the drop pod and door piece down by the same amount in the same amount of time.
Remove the door when it reaches the ground.
This will have bumpiness and be hard to make "right"
If you don't mind some trickery, there's a method that uses the AI Drop pod spawn. Your player gets teleported into a fake drop pod that isn't really moving (so you can't see the battlefield while dropping), and an AI drop pod is called down on the drop locations.
When the AI drop pod lands, the AI npc is deleted, and the player is teleported in.

word to the wise - devs are unlikely to be looking in the "looking for group" channels to find bugs, since bugs and gameplay issues are supposed to be brought up elsewhere (bugs through the support site, and non-bug issues with the game through the discussion channels)

Hey there, I need an explanation from someone who scripts well. I think 343 added with cu29 mode script brains and as I understand it you can make/combine them into a mode without having to play on a special map. And could someone please explain to me how it works or if I misunderstood it.
I’ve got a question for anyone who knows about scripting.
I’ve been trying to work on some firefight maps and I’ve got the king of the hill game mode working on my maps.
now the question is, is there any way to set the hill spawning/activating to be determined by players entering specific areas/trait zones or interacting with objects/buttons, instead of the built-in game mode timer. And and is there a way to have events or other scripts start/activate when a specific hill is captured?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any tutorials or videos for these sorts of things, and any advice would be appreciated.
