So upvotes are good for the "net votes" section primarily.
If a dev looks at an idea and sees it is 100% upvote, good indicator that it's a desired feature - if it is mixed (50/50) it'd fall under controversial feature (maybe as an optional feature rather than required), and negative (more negative than positive) may not be worth considering.
Since larger positive votes = higher net vote too, better for visibility. That said they all get sent to dev team regardless of their votes, so it's more as a community interest indication rather than ruling out or guaranteeing any feature request
Your idea has the added bonus of being a gradually introduced in mid game feature, Vs normal "start/end game feature" - since people don't generally hold 2 bonuses early on.
It could be slightly different, like "holding a "double" bonus generates a shield for 1 turn, and has a 3 turn cooldown, making it impossible to attack that bonus every 4th turn. So really like your idea // it enables a bunch of stacking/upgrade style possibilities
Thats an great idea too! Maybe the devs should add these two options when creating a map, mega bonuses version 1 that gives more troops or mega bonuses version 2 that gives some abilities like a shield
I could see this working well with smaller +2 bonuses or so, with an extra +2 for holding both. it creates a map that's somewhere between the "many +2 bonuses" (e.g. airship or stairs of knowledge&power) and "few +7 bonuses" (e.g. pirate bay) maps
I like this idea!
Maybe there are certain combinations of bonuses that make a troop bonus deduction. Oops you took too many of the wrong bonuses! +2 +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 but -12 for the deadly combo for a bonus of only 10 territory bonus troops this turn. Try to lose a territory on one of those bonuses before next turn.
0 income if you completely clear out a pocket behind your 1 point hold
