Add custom attack sounds & themed music with the customization packs & in the customization shop. Whoever is attacking has their attack sound effects played during attacks for everyone, but music choice is "client side". For example, a sci-fi pack could have lazer sounds for the attack sound and maybe a synth remix of the main theme as the music.

Add missiom risk as game modes, with three difficulties Regular, Hard, Insane

Regular -> Capture Europe/North America/Capture 17 territories in 1 turn/

Hard -> Capture Europe and S America/N America amd australia/Asia/Africa, australia and s america/destroy [colour] ect.

Insane: Destroy 2 players/capture asia and south america/ europe and north america/capturr 20 territories in 1 turn ect.

so basically in global domination in the matchmaking you can eithr change colors or if your the host you can boot an empty spot and add a robot and take it away if you want to make sure people know your in there.. i propose a more comprehensive option . like moving the ready button to that area so the game wont launch til everyone pushes ready. therefore if you pushed ready and your the only person everyone would know once its full the game will launch. this may incline them to stay and cause less jumpin n runnin during the matchmaking process. thank you for your time

For the Battle Logs in Fog of War games, also include partial entries for things you can see.

Example: I saw green add 7 troops to a territory, then attack a neighbor and lose 3 troops. Currently, it doesn't show in the battle log because I can't see the other side of the attack. Instead, the game record should show a record with green's side of the attack which I did see.

2D map design
Consider dungeon crawlers, fallout shelter etc.
Maps that introduce a vertical style of battling, floors are continents - can have multiple per floor if they are separated, smaller bonuses but much larger maps.

Could optionally segregate players to start X floors from one another, having to conquer neutral territory as fast as possible, but not too fast or your opponent will break through!

Note: would involve much vertical scrolling 😄

Make the unranked option in "global domination" allow you to play online with friends and strangers, because "play friends" limits us and forces us to throw in AI for opponents, which are dry as dust. Your solution to advertise the private game ID of "play friends" on the Discord server is ridiculous, we don't have all Discord, nor do we want to play with a smaller pool of players, we wait longer for the match to take place, ruining the experience of premium users. Because you don't know how to fight cheaters in the right way, consumers suffer.

add a true team's function where people can set up teams before the game. Allowing for people to do 2v2s and such, once the other team is eliminated, the game ends and the winning team gains ranking points.

People love diplomacy in risk, but often times it stalls the game out. I've played risk with teams a few times and it is very fun actually strategizing with someone when you are teamed up all the way.

Since leaderboards are an issue, do team game modes as a test with no rank involved, at least until there’s a new leaderboard/ranking system.
Could be a possible new tab in itself separate from global and play with friends that’s involves the option to pick 2v2, 3v3, or 2v2v2. When selected what game mode I think it should bring you to a lobby where you can invite your friends or decide to allow random people to play on your team aswell, than when everyone ready’s up they get put in a game with another team similar to how auto match works, using different settings common for the play style selected (2v2, 3v3, 2v2v2) to chose from.
If we get more creative it can randomly select between 2 settings and than the teams vote on what they want to play

Novices can only play up to IM. BIG up to Expert etc.
GM cannot play below Ex.
Allow hosts to decide turn order.
Introduce 2v2 and 3v3.
Increase GM threshold to 3m SP.
Introduce Assassin Mode in which your objective is to kill one of the other players.
Your target is revealed at game beginning.
If your target dies then whoever killed it becomes your target.
Replace 5 Round Rumble with a different time format.
Give each player 15 minutes playing time.
This starts when their turn begins and ends when they click fortify.
Allow GMs to play each other for ranking pts under agreed formats.
Award ranking pts to sanctioned Tournaments.
1v1 and FFA which are run through this server but I think TR, Zombies, 2v2 deserve a mention amongst others.
Introduce monthly challenges with financial or other rewards.
Get the 80k+ members and this server and the hundreds of thousands of other players who haven't joined more involved in competition.
Advertise more links to tournaments, servers, Twitch and YT.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my ideas to helping make the game I love just that little bit better.

Party Modes
Another tab for game modes that shouldn’t be counted for rank. modes I’d suggest for this is Brutal’s assassin mode I think that would be fun, a juggernaut mode where one player starts off strong but they can only make 1 attack per turn and the goal is for other players to beat the jugg and win or the jugg to beat everyone else may be (may be better with 4 people rather than 6), and possibly 5 round rumble.

This idea (poll) is more a community one instead of game changing.
This is also in the low majority of people and I would normally expect to see a lot of neutral votes since it doesn’t apply to most. I’d like if everyone could just fill me in on their thought with just agreeing or disagreeing please.

A purple tick for community artist.
It should be given to people who’ve taking their time working on making a good piece or pieces, and even our map makers are very deserving.

People in mind who it can be rewarded too are Kali, Astrid, Sugawara, JamozMyNamoz, and even @final brook (figured it be harder with just “BT”) they’ve done one piece but you can see they’ve put good work into it and it looks good. I’m sorry if there is anyone else that may be missing that feels deserving as well.
As for myself, I’m working on a bigger project other than all the stuff I’ve done before and I would really like to get it done and be able to share it with everyone before I get anything to make it feel more deserving for myself.

I wouldn’t know where else best to see how the community’s support would flow with this one, either way I’m sure we’ll all be releasing the art we enjoy doing and continue to show everyone heart

Provide an option to modify the UI as we want to see it. For example, if we don’t want to see the AI helper in single player, there is a toggle to show/remove the button.

My biggest struggle is the next turn button. The new update makes it smaller and changes the location of it. I love the concept and think it is a great idea for the newer players; however, I test-played a game and every single turn I took, I tapped on the new troop icon and got confused why I couldn’t attack/fortify. I know it’s a little selfish to not want to get used to a new location but I think/hope I speak for a lot of experienced players that the old button was easier. It would be awesome if you brought back the option to use the old button (you could even make it so that it only unlocks after the user understands the phases - perhaps when online play unlocks).

In the end, I envision something perhaps similar to changing the button controls on Super Smash Bros. That said, simple toggles in the options menu work fine too 🙂

Similar to free maps of the week, make there be one random emote that is free for everyone each week.
This would probably generate revenue for smg, because people would try out the free emotes, and if they enjoy using them, they might end up buying them.

Add a savestate feature
For long play friends games there should be a feature that allowed people to put the game on hold and later return to it. This could be done by giving the host or maybe even all players ability to start a vote once per hour or so to put the game on hold with an unanimous decision. The game could then later be restarted by the same host (if the file has to be saved locally) or any other players of that game, when everyone is back in the same lobby together. This could potentially also improve quality of life for tournaments due to there being only a limited time window to reconnect. The botted out player would of course not count for the vote meaning they would still have a chance to get back into the match when the lobby saves the game and gets back together.

In ranked games let every player 'bet' some of their ranking pts.
Eg. A GM bets 50k, M 40k EXP 30k which results in a pot.
For example 6 GMs paying 50k each is a pot of 300k.
1st 150k
2nd 100k
3rd 50k
4th, 5th and 6th lose their stake.

My suggestion is that you make it known how many bots there are in the lobby, before you join it. Because joining 5/6 and meeting 4bots feels so bad, and I'm almost certain that some people know how different bots work, and abuse it for free wr/rank against worse players.

Add a tab for the shop for owned purchases that looks exactly like the current interface and allows you, for instance, to very quickly check number of territories for maps in owned map packs. Please make the dice default back to blitz at the beginning of every turn. I can't imagine that players would prefer to accidentally lose troops to less than 100% rolls unnecessarily. Also this would save the time wasted toggling back to blitz, accidentally manual rolling, and the need to threaten an attack towards another territory to do so.

Make a dark mode for Risk
In the dark mode, the oceans/map background would be black, and the colors of the territories would be darker.
This would be good for playing at night, because the screen would be less bright. Also, looking at blue light on a screen before bed hinders your sleep cycle, so making a dark mode with a dark background (not blue oceans) would be helpful for players who play at night.
The dark mode would be optional and you could toggle it off if you don't want to use it.
If this idea is implemented, it would be good if there was a way in settings to choose between having the dark mode turn on automatically at night, or turning on the dark mode manually whenever you want it (so people who especially like the dark mode can have it on even during the day).

Useful Dice Roll Statistics!
Know how everyone above 20 games has all of their dice rolls that are balanced out? Wouldn't it be nice to actually have that part of the screen bring any useful information? How about refreshing the dice roll information more often such as Clearing the dice rolls at the beginning of every game to see what dice rolls every player gets during the game! Just a thought that the current ui is absolutely useless and SMG could make a slight change to make it actually something people will check...

default settings for ingame. ie. last time you played a certain map on a certain game mode with certain settings, those exact settings are saved for the next time you start a lobby on that map. and if you switch it to a different game mode, only then it resets to have fog and blizzards etc turned off. oh yeah and blitz rolls default at the start of every turn!

Open source much of the game code to allow for faster development. And increase investment in microtransactions by adding map builder, scenario maker, and accessory/frame/etc maker tools for peer-2-peer Risk Marketplace. Players get all the features they can possibly want, and SMG collects huge profits on the unlimited stuff the players make and sell between each other.

I feel like it might just be a better idea to just got rid of the bot advisor... Cuz I feel that most people learn better through watching how other people play. A prime example is me. When sending out 1 or 2 dice/troops using slider, you still have to move at least 3 to the conquered territory. If it was fixed so you only needed to move 2, it would make the slider much more used (89% bb compared to 75% tr in a 2 (attackers) vs 1). This would encourage more players to take an interest in the slider (maybe?).

Two ideas:

  1. Timer should be dynamic. Like give 10 or 20 seconds to make every move within our turn in addition to fixed 60 seconds. Or, like in chess, add +2 or +5 seconds for attacking a territory. In current fixed timer system, it is very difficult to win whole map within 60 or 120 sec even if we have winning situation.

  2. Add a poker mode in cards where there is no limit to number of cards one can accumulate and no need of compulsory redeeming after 5 cards. One can wait for better hands, but those who accumulate many cards waiting for better hands become lucrative targets for others.

If you can't make any more attacks, automatically skip to the fortify phase. An example of this would be when all your territories are made of 1s, or if all your troops are blocked.
Also, skip the fortify phase if you have only 1s and therefore can't fortify anyway.

I think if SMG were to include at the end of risk seasons a small amount of gems (like 10- 20 for intermediate, 25 - 30 for expert etc.) this and the addition of being able to purchase coins in the shop for f2p players, and would lead more players overall to purchase cosmetics and map packs and could give more players a bigger push to purchase gems or premium. I understand that SMG is trying to make money but I think if they add other options besides a meager 2 gems per day (which I don't think is really helping anyone) both sides might be a bit happier.

create a map pack full of complex geometric maps like trigons that are only accessible by higher ranks. (Lower ranks can’t even join a hosted game in play friends, high ranks only, if you drop below the required rank after purchase a simple reminder to get them to win more will unlock the maps again
This encourages people to play more and improve their game play in order to unlock access.
It will also encourage players to care more about their rank and suicide less (especially those close to the required rank)
This will give better players more challenging maps to play on
These ‘qualified’ maps will make great stream promotional content as casual players won’t have access unless they play to unlock AND purchase.
This will add to the “collection savvy” people who are determined to unlock and collect everything

If SMG would add my suggestion of Wastelands to the game, that’d be the single biggest improvement to 1v1 since I started playing Risk.

Currently 80% of maps are too big for 1v1, and if you add a bot they mess delicate strategies by making random attacks, and only a few blizzards can be added to maps otherwise territories could become landlocked, making winning impossible.

It would be perfect if the host could choose a number of wastelands, where each wasteland was visible at the start like blizzards, and had 5 troops on that never deployed, attacked, or fortified.

By adding enough wastelands, every map, no matter how big, could become 1v1able

There’d then be 5x as many viable 1v1 maps

The benefits of these for reducing the size of large maps, without excessive RNG wouldn’t only apply to 1v1:

2v2 and FFA for 3, 4 and 5 players can benefit from reduced round 1 territory count, on large exciting maps.

Even 6 player FFA would benefit in the long run, since wastelands would open the door for far larger unique maps to be created, and played viably in the future

I’ve seen this problem brought up by people but there was never a really good solution, Once a player disconnects or whatever happens and bots out give them 5 rounds before they can’t join back. I feel the reconnection system should be touched on too it’s not very reliable, I think there should always be a mechanic that checks if you’re in a game or not.

It often fails to reconnect when you try. It will bring you to the game than the timer never ends someone’s turn and if you leave there is no. trying to reconnect back.

I feel with a more reliable reconnection system along with a round limit point of returning would cause players to be more cautious instead of thinking they are safe to attack the only real player and than realize that are done for when that person connects back, and than complaining on discord

There could be two armies, and when the event starts than every user has to choose one or the other, than there would be a lengthy war between the two armies for domination of a huge map. Certain territories have power ups (similar to the cards but activate imediately) that could increase troops chance of winning in an attack or defending in an attack. Moves would require tokens to make this more fair and each army takes turns making their moves. After this war, rank points and/or gems could be awarded for participation or for winning.

Campaign/storyline for each game mode available

Primarily this allows for scenarios utilising a mix and match of game settings (and scenarios based upon these) - which ensures players can learn about these smaller settings at their own pace, and there can be the option to have difficulty/complexity rating, along with option to skip if failing two or three times + in a row - and to have a completion rating (e.g 0-5 stars) based on how quickly you complete these, having a net positive for troops killed to lost, within a certain number of moves, along with one for eliminating minimum # of opponents, and one for completing it (regardless of the others)

This would also be a good way to ease players into "BETA" modes, if we wanted to trial out missions or defensive strong points etc, we can have progression for these and open for X time (offer rewards along the way) and if it's net negative feedback on it we don't implement it for online MP.

Would be good to have a like dislike for each mission (and an extra one for those that complete) - could even add a small feedback form in-app with optional comments on it.

Good way to test modes without it being something you come across online unintentionally, and let's all players practice first before it goes live.

To deal with stale mates, What if after like 30 turns or whatever, a bot will take over for one persons single turn, maybe the person with the most troops, so when the 30 turns are up, that person has huge motive to attack before the bot takes over a turn for them, and then if they attack and loose enough troops, it can be delayed another 10 turns, something like that. and if no one attacks then the bot will do it for them any way on the 31st turn, and then that can happen again every 10 turns after until the game is over. and this would be an optional setting for preventing stale mates.

I think adding a short challenge list of maybe 3-4 tasks and randomizing them either Daily or Weekly would be a great way of giving players external goals other than just winning matches and also giving players reasons to continue playing.

Some of these challenges could also tie in and be a subtle nod to the Classic Secret Mission game mode of old school risk.

I'd like to suggest what I think could be the final fix for all of the turn timer issues.

If after each attack, the turn timer didn't go down for roughly 2 seconds, then no one would run out of time on easy kills, no troops would be disappearing, no one would complain about devices having different attack speeds, no one would be able to stall the game. The timer would serve its purpose and not limit the game in other ways. This would solve all the problems with he turn timer and no one would ever have to worry about it again.

Add a separate timer available for manual setup games that applies during the placement phase.

Have shorter time options such as 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 20 seconds, etc. We really don't need to wait for people to take 53 seconds trying to decide where to set up for 20 turns. So thus, we would have a separate timer during the setup phase and during actual gameplay.

This would hopefully make manual games more appealing by cutting down on game time.

Maybe add quests to the game. Right now the only way to get in-game cash without spending is either by winning a tournament which is really hard or by watching ads. Ads do not even make a difference because to get 1,000 gems, you would have to watch adds for 500 days. It's way too much. Adding quests will help people that don't spend money to get some of their favorite maps or frames or dices. If this gets added, I recommend at least 3 missions a week and every mission will give you a certain amount of gems depending on how hard the mission is. (e.g. "Eliminate a player while holding North America."=150 gems, "Win Capital Conquest"=150 gems, "Betray an allied player"=100 gems) This could help bring many people.

Alternatively, allow us to modify the timers for each phase separately. For instance, most of the people I play with are decently experienced and rarely if ever use half the allotted time per non-attacking phase.

That said there are times when you'd want a little more time because you're new or playing on an unfamiliar map, or maybe you're just in that bad of a position that fortifying those last three troops will mean the difference between sweet victory and stinging defeat.

Add a fun, light-hearted wild-card mode. This mode would be compatible with all of the current modes: WD, Caps, 5RR, Zombies, 70%

In this mode, in addition to the troop bonus cards, there would be a separate category of cards that players could earn every so often that would be fun, wild cards that shake up the game.

For example, perhaps a card would reverse the turn order in a random manner. Or it would erase the last three turns, bringing the game back to an earlier point. Or one card could let you steal someone's cards, skip someone's turn, add/remove a blizzard, add/remove fog for three turns, switch capitols, etc. The host could specify which types of cards they want to be an option for a certain match. They would not need to have all these options.

Not sure how players would earn these cards exactly (we don't want there to be these cards every turn) but it would be fun to have a chill, fun mode.

instead of “play friends” mode there should be “casual” mode where you can have a private “room” via existing code or open it up to the public. A game type menu could be added from a drop down box . FFA, 2v2(v2), 3v3.
this will allow friends to play together against other teams or groups of friends when they can’t fill a lobby using game code in play friends mode.
This will deter and reduce collaboration between friends in global dom mode while filling a much requested game mode option (teams)

Auto select the best card set. It's been mentioned that players need to have the skill to pick the right cards but it's such a low level 'skill' that practically everyone is being inconvenienced by having to swap cards to pick the best set because more times than not the AI picks card sets that don't include +2 cards. I think a solution to Player Targeting & Noob Farming, would be to make Game Lobbies Completely Anonymous.
That way, the only thing you would be able to see about the players, is who is a Human Player & Who is a Bot, that's it.
But, when the game starts though, Players will still be able to express their Individual RISK Identities, with their Profile Name & Customizations.

I thought of a way to take my previous idea, about Auto Setup only assigning 1 army per Territory while still letting players Manually place their remaining armies, & Combine it w Ath890Boom's idea for making bots neutral after a player bots out.

I'd Expand upon this Hybrid idea, by Making it a Pre-game option for all bots to be Neutral aka Dummy Players, or to Keep Bots as they are now.
Additionally, I'd also add the Dummy option as an individual bot Difficulty Setting, that way players, like myself, can make Essentially a 1vs1 game, but with a Dummy Bot to make a bit more challenging game.
Or, it could also be a Custom Game Type, like a 1vs1 Dummy Bot Mode, where if you choose Auto Setup, territories are automatically Randomly Assigned w the bot getting say 5 or 10 Armies on All of their territories & players Manually Place their remaining Armies. But if you choose Manual Setup, Players will choose their territories First & then the Bot gets the Remaining Territories.

An example:

You could trade a common for a rare or legendary for a rare, it just depends on the trader.

In ranked games hide the players' stats and names (and might even cosmetics) up until the game is ended. A lot of people get targeted by their profile alone: good stats, recognizable name, verification mark and fancy cosmetics which make them stand out among the players who don't have them. It would help to prevent good players getting targeted and then it would prevent targeted noob farming (as for the leaderboard ranking purposes, of selecting to play only with a player or players who have terrible stats) as well, if you couldn't check players' stats and names in the lobby either.

I think there should be some special maps which opens only after reaching required ranks. In this case people will be motivated in rising their ranks and high rank players will be interested in playing in amongst themselves. So we have 3 points:

  1. Weak players will not be bullied.
  2. Everyone will be interested in raising their ranks, therefore they will play more.
  3. Maps will be closed from greenhorn players who just solely target you or/and suicide on you. It is possible even now, but in the future separated games will be more frequent.

a: Add a "My Profile" button to the top left, beside token counter
b: Include different sub-sections within this, such as: About, Recent Games, Starred Games, Stats, Trophies
c: About should include things like my risk name and age of account (e.g X days | dd/mm/yyyy)
d: Starred Games would be saved separately from Recent Games, and won't expire, however there should be a limit on how many games can be starred. Could add +3 per map pack or +10 for premium.
e: Stats should have much more detailed information, or a link to hasbrorisk with more detailed info. How often do I win when I'm 3rd in turn order? How about when I am blue instead of purple? Some miscellaneous but fun stats like this could be really interesting and surprising!
f: Trophies would be in-game accolades / achievements, this can have a tab for ALL | OWNED | UNOWNED - and gives an easy way to see what you haven't earned, along with completion rewards for doing them!
g: Just to summarise, currently we have little stats and little ownership for our current Profile Page, it'd be good for it to become a home for all of our achievements and it in turn becomes much more valuable!

Adding more ways of earning risk gems. Currently there is no way for free 2 play players to earn these except for collecting 2 each day from the shop. Making ways to get them for example gettign gems according to ur rank in a match for example in a 3 player game P1 gets 3 gems, P2 gets 2 gems and P3 gets one. This will allow f2p players to have something more to achieve in the game other than ranks and will help long term player retention. It will also all ow f2p players to grind these gems and be able to play some new maps, unlock new cosmetics etc. without having to spend money. It will definitely make the game for f2p friendly

Make it just like every territory. People should be allowed to block it or put a cap on it for any strategical advantage they see.
Make the territory have a boarder that looks like a portal. When the territory is selected to make an attack instead of arrows stretching across the screen highlight the portal or portals that can be attacked, to make it visible.

  1. ⁠Banning ranked 1v1 is shortsighted, as 1v1 and FFA each have distinct benefits for ranking. Both should have completely separate ranked leaderboards.

Benefits of 1v1 Leaderboard (e.g. Chess.com 20m+ players) • Fast -> ranks based on reliably large sample size of games • Best player usually wins. Random targeting/suicides/colab avoided completely

Benefits of FFA (e.g. CoD FFA Deathmatch 6m+ players) • Noob-friendly + broader target audience • Includes diplomacy, alliances, betrayal, revenge

  1. Enforcing 120s timer (slow and unpopular) on automatch along with Balanced Blitz (fast and popular) is a contradiction.

I have respect for the hardcore players here who use long timers because they only play True-Random, so need time for slowrolls, but even they wouldn’t choose 60s BB. If automatch must be BB, 60s turn timer makes by far the most sense

  1. Removing rank impact of losses. If players rank can only go up, then those who grind for the most hours, regardless of skill, could eventually reach the top. People want to see the most dangerous Risk players at the top of the leaderboard, not mediocre ones who just grind 24/7”

Automatch settings like 120s timer and no caps/zombies are horrible. This would be a terrible move that would make ranked games more luck based and less enjoyable. In the new ranking system, you should still be able to lose points, if you can only gain points that's going to be the same issue, the rank won't reflect the best players, it will just be who grinds and plays the most games, the purpose of a rank should be to show who is the most skilled players, not who plays the most. Also this would cause people to leave games if it doesn't seem like they will win, because they have no consequence of leaving and more to gain by leaving and joining a new match.

Why just doing a rotation? Communication is important in those types of games. Rotations isn't improving it, it keep it at the same level, but with variation. Adding new stuff is improving it. Tbh for now there should be two leaderboards, FFA and 1v1s. 1v1s should be an automatch where you would have to play similar ranks. FFA should be divided into 7 categories which are Prog, Fixed, Zombies, Caps, 70%, 5RR, and random. You chose one of these settings and you get into a game of your selected choice. I don’t think everyone should be forced to play a certain setting. What does everyone think?

Players should rank up through single player and not online, since the difficulty of human opponents varies so much that online games aren't a fair test, but the difficulty of bots is constant, so it's a more scientific benchmark. To keep games fair and against equal difficulty opponents, begginers could play against beginner bots, experts could play against expert bots, etc.

A mode with NO turns, let me explain
There would still be the three phases, it wouldn’t change phases until everybody has clicked the next phase button, then all would be able to attack, then to move on to fortify everybody would have to click it.
And it could be paired with any other gamemode, like capitals, 70% or WD.
If two people want to attack the same territory the first person who clicked it gets to attack it first.

Remove Zombie Apocalypse, 70% Domination, 5 Round Rumble. Replace them with Battle Royale mode (100 players on a map that has a minimum of 50 territories). Add an optional mode where the attacker has 2 dice instead of 3 because the attackers have a huge advantage and I think it's stupid.

Introduce an option for setting up phone notifications - and an option to disable some of the current standard ones.

Too many players commit suicide to try and weaken the strongest player to be second rather than allied aginst the biggest player so they can get the first. Getting into a bot also has this effect, as opponents almost always leave the bot to kill last.

This is because the order of rank rewards is 1.>2.>3.>4.>5.>6.

Instead, players should be rewarded more for risky plays that could place them first or place them last.

1.>6.>5.>4.>3.>2.

Remove every item except for gems and replace them with loot boxes!
Common Crate: 100 gems: 30% chance to give you a common emote, 30% chance to give you a common dice, 30% chance to give you a common troop, 5% chance to give you a common frame, 4% chance to give you a common avatar, 1% chance to give you a random map (not the whole map pack)!

Epidemics (turned on/off like blizzards):
Before a player gets his turn, there is a chance of ~1% of an epidemic occurring on a random field and some neighbouring fields.
An epidemic lasts ~2-3 rounds demanding a certain percentage of troops on fields dying every round.
If another player attacks those fields, his troops get infected, too.
If the player moves those troops to another field in the third stage of his turn, he subsequently spreads the virus as a result.
Requirements:

  1. It should not be worth it for a player to wilfully infect his own troops.
  2. Infected troops exhaust themselves the further they march, demanding a defensive playstyle.

When the worst traitor betrays our alliance and commits suicide on me, there must be a way to get revenge even if I don't encounter this player in another game. I recommend the option to add a black flag to this traitor’s profile, so if they get into a game with anyone on my Risk friend list, my friend will see the black flag and kill them first to get revenge.

Invent a master robot and a granmaster robot that are very hard to beat. give them a better dice than the players, because a former top 11 player said that robots are too easy for best players. An old version of Risk on the computer gave better dice to the toughest robots, so they were very tough. then robots will be able to win more!

Ideas for Gem Shop
Add Superpowers to the RISK shop at the cost of 1,000 - 100,00 gems. This will be really good as it will give the developers more money to make the game better.
These Superpowers will do the following things:

  1. Freeze your opponents turn timer.
  2. Infect troops with corona virus. The opponents will passively lose troops.
  3. When you get taken out everything gets nuked and you win.
  4. Allow you to control your opponents.
  5. Give you amazing rolls while giving horrible ones to all of your opponents.
  6. Grant you invincibility from any attack.
  7. Let you make opponents trash talk to each other.
  8. Play annoying music for your opponents at the maximum volume for the entire game.
  9. Give you the best possible auto set up.
  10. Enable AI advisor for online games.
  11. Transform you to any rank you wish.
  12. Spawn blizzards that completely block one of your territories making you impossible to kill.
  13. Transform you into an expert AI!
  14. Make your opponents hallucinate.
  15. Reflect your opponent's powers back against, then they have the option to pay the same amount of gems go reflect back to you, etc.

Add more colors!

Make the red and orange more pigmented
A darker green and blue, with a teal and whiteish-blueish.
The lilac would be a very cool addition.
A brown would be cool as most frames and avatars have brown on them, so it would be cool to match that kind of stuff!
A gold color would probably the most unique one though, only for premium players though.🤪

More colors where going to be added, but some where to close to eachother, so they didn’t add them.

We should make a browse all option for the maps just like the dice. It would allow for people to buy their favorite map. Since all map packs cost 450 gems for 4 maps, one map must be at least over 112.5 gems. This is because buying a map pack must have a discount. My suggestion for a single map price is 130-150 gems.

I think its important the Rank system have negative points rather then punishing for disconnects, I don't disconnect on purpose and i hate when it happen, my internet isn't great so it happens pretty often especially if the game is 2+ hours. also the negative points are important for a real Rank, you can't have a real rank if you can only rank up, that's not a rank. also a lot of people mainly play just caps, including myself, if i can't play caps to rank up then I will find it hard to continue playing this game, we need multiple types of matches for rank. there are enough caps players that a caps match will always fill.

Jelly dice

  1. Introduce some colorful jelly dice (in all the colours we introduced previously to RISK!)
  2. These can be cheaper dice to buy, or even a little menu to change the color (so only 1 jelly dice is shown in customisation, but click to open color wheel to adjust between owned ones)
  3. These should be partially see-through, and if you want to "go HAM" the numbers can be signified with little candies or seeds or whatever too 😄

It'd be cool to see some use of the colours previously researched, and minimal time to produce as it's 1 dice in 24 colors (roughly)

Ok hear me out, I think it would be an awesome idea to create a map builder, I know you make money from maps so this could be a purchase feature or pay per map you make, maps would be private and playable with friends but with a feature where when you have enough play hours on a map you made you can submit it to get voted on by the public, the map that wins each time gets put in the public shop. A map builder for this game wouldn't be too hard to make and can have a paint like feature for creating art. I think it would highly benefit the game and make it even more fun and addicting to play.

When you lose to a low ranking player, like a genuinely good player, just at a low rank, you lose a lot of points I just was at 800 something and am now at 1,225!
When the new ranking system comes into play, can we nerf the point loss? Maybe half or three quarters as much points lost?

I think it would be pretty fun to have 2 player team modes, I have watched some team tournaments and it looks really fun, I think people might enjoy it from time to time, it could randomly assign teammates after everyone ready's up in public lobbies, and then you could manually pick your teammate in PWF, maybe you can have different options for it , maybe a few extra communication buttons added to what alliances have, like "attack up" "attack down" "guard me" "take bonus" "retreat" stuff like that to make communication a little better.

Play with friends observer mode. When playing with friends a separate code is published to allow others to watch the match from the point of view of the host. Alliances: When you send someone alliance request it expires after x number of turns or you can manually cancel it. Current system has a problem when you play with fog. Person you send alliance request can keep on holding it up until they feel the need to use it and they can abuse it by accepting and gaining vision and then use that vision to their advantage and cancel Alliance just before they finish their round. Additional thing that can be considered is when alliance has been accepted/sent you cannot break alliance before x number of turns (Similar to CIV6 system).

Introduce the options for 5-Round-Rumble to be manual and prog, so it could be an ideal 1v1 mode.

It could be fun to play ranked when the new separate 1v1 leaderboard is released, and to include a couple of games of this mode in Official 1v1 Tourneys.

The vast majority of 1v1s are manual, as there’s a great deal of skill to the territory and troop placements. Manual 1v1s are some of the fastest games, making 5 rounds very viable.

Typically the 1st player has an advantage, so in 5RR, because on the 5th round the second player gets to go last and be the final player to take territories before the end, some of the turn order advantage is offset.

Similarly in 1v1 prog cards help offset some 1st player advantage:

If you’re unlucky going 2nd in prog, and your opponent has the luck to be able to trade cards before you, at least your trade is worth +6 and their’s is only 4

However if the first player gets to trade before you and gets the same troops from the trade, or even more (worst case they trade on 3 for +12 and you trade on 5 for +4), then they almost certainly get a free win, even if you outplayed them.

In close games between comparable opponents even a troop or two can shift the balance of the game to one player or the other.

These changes could also improve 5RR’s suitability for 2v2 and 3v3 tourney games, and 3-4 player FFA global games

Currently 5RR is so rarely used, these improvements could easily double the popularity of this mode.

Tweak the ranking system by having different leaderboards analogously to Chess. (In Chess there are different rankings for both different time controls: 1min chess has a different leaderboard than 10min, 30min, 5h etc. but also different variants/'game modes': Crazy House, Fisher Random etc.). So, following the analogy, it could be interesting to have different leaderboards for different game modes: 1v1, Prog, Classic, Zombies, etc.

The 'Disconnect Strategy' is, in my opinion, the least enjoyable part of the game. But, what is the 'Disconnect Strategy'?

  • STEP 1: Disconnect from the game;
  • STEP 2: Hope the bot that replaced you gets stronger than all the other players combined;
  • STEP 3: Sneakily reconnect, and check the troop counts. If STEP 2 was achieved, then swipe the game for an easy victory!!! (congratulations, you're a scumbag), if STEP 2 was not achieved, then just go back to STEP 1 devil

I've seen it be more commonly used in 3-player fixed games, where there's a balanced endgame, and because it's so easy, especially for non-beginner players, to win against strong bots (just think of the One VS All challenge mode), if a player bots-out, you're incentivized to kill the remaining player and be left outnumbered against the bot.

I think the game would be much more enjoyable and less toxic if this problem were to be addressed (but who knows, maybe the player suicide rate would just increase) and therefore propose some options:

  1. Highly increase BOT difficulty (or add it as an option), or have the bot that never stops attacking, so it would be unwise to kill your remaining human opponent if you wanted to end in 1st;
  2. Make it so a player that bots out cannot gain troops per turn (maybe loses troops per turn). Both this option and option (1) try to incentivize cooperation against the bot, at least for some time, making the strategy less appealing;
  3. Make it so that a player that disconnects a certain amount of turns (so you wouldn't penalize acidental disconnects), cannot reconnect;
  4. Make it possible to refuse to play with players that were in your game in the future. This way, would segregate toxic players, as many players could refuse to play with them

Play across maps in one game/session

Issue:
At the moment we're kinda limited by map size (and time to pan across if it's larger maps / on devices like tablets) - this also limits # of players in games too.
Solution:
Connect maps vertically and horizontally via "Ladders" and "Bridges"

  • These connectors can be randomly placed on maps or fixed
  • Maps can be designed as multi-layer/multi-level maps
  • In menus (to add a map) click the map it connects to and select from dropdown: connect above, below, left, right. Alternately, can randomly allocate and position maps from one another.
  • This should also allow having massive games (e.g 60 players, 6 on each map, with 10 maps, and you can attack to/from territories that are linked across maps with connectors)
  • In terms of Single Player games, this adds further depth (and difficulty) to levels, potentially even adding an endless mode, where conquering a map unlocks a more difficult opponent/objective, and you progress through levels until you are eliminated on a map

what about a giant map (will be splitted a bit if less players are there) that have a special gamemode, which every 5, 10 or 15 turns, random events can happen to players, of course, only 7 territories per player will be there defultly, so there will be blank territories around the map, which to control, you need at least 3 units in a nearby empty territory, so 1 is removed for the build, 1 is keeped at the older territory and 1 at the newly claimed territory. It is a silly idea, so I wont expect to have upvotes, and expecting having downvotes. Well, just a random idea that I just chat here.

A thought I had, whilst playing a massive staller. I reported them - but I have no idea if they get that notification. So, idea is to give them an onscreen notification "You have been reported for XXX". However, to ensure abuse, 1 report per player per game. Add allied victories, an option to give troops to allies, and in game text and voice chat. Also, if an ally betrays you without asking for permission their territories will be nuked and they will get the last place. Some sort of a way to get tokens from winning online matches. It doesn't have to be many, maybe just 2*(number of non-bot players) tokens awarded to the winner. This way you get something other than just better stats for winning, and it won't award you for beating bots, only other players.
Obviously Risk would lose a bit of profit from this, but it would still take a long time fo save up enough for anything, and people would play more with a reward system. And online always shows you ads that risk gets paid from, so it's not like it would be stealing all of their money.

Receive more tokens when you win a game. Currently you can’t even compensate the tokens spent on joining the game, even though you won #1. It makes no sense, the least you should receive for winning is 10 tokens, but that isn’t a reward since you’re just returning your tokens. For it to be a reward for winning, you should receive at least 50 tokens.

Bonus wheel when finishing game:

I play Pokemon TCG Online and it gave me many ideas of things that could be nice in pogo. One of them is that after a match in tournament mode (one futur suggestion), you get to spin a bonus wheel. This wheel is not the same if you win vs if you lost. It's better if you won.

It would be nice if after finishing a game in Risk, you get to spin a bonus wheel: Everyone could spin it, but only if they were there when they died. If they left the game before, no bonus wheel. Bonus wheel for 6th position would have maybe like: 0 token- 0 token - 0 token- 0 token- 0 token- 1 token.

But as you get in better position, you get better stuff on the wheel, and winner (1st position) bonus wheel could have: nice amount of tokens- tickets (for future tournament mode (wich would required a certain amount of tickets to play) - mystery gift (can be tokens, tickets, or really rare, gems),

Premium players who win tokens could trade tokens won for something else at some rate cost (maybe x tokens for a ticket).

Not sure if this is original at all but ill say it anyway: In game tournaments similar to the rocket league system, where individual ranks can play in separate tournaments of different game modes. The schedule for these could be one game a day, or 3 days, etc. Rewards could include risk coins and tokens , or even avatars and borders in order to allow for f2p players to experience different maps and cosmetics. A problem of this system would of course be alt accounting, which could be prevented buy account requirements or potentially only running tournaments at the expert to grandmaster level. lmk what you think 🙂

Fix the attacking speed among different platforms. Currently the PC players have a big speed advantage over the mobile ones and because of that you could lose a game by the speed difference alone when playing on a bigger map, which I don't assume was an intention by SMG. You ever heard of a Progressive Capital FFA Game that stalemated? Well worry no more because I introduce to you the Hyperprogressive setting 😃 (Not my idea, can't remember where it's from).

In this setting, the value of the cards increases exponentially and not linearly (e.g. 4,6,8,10,12,15,20,30,40,45,60,75,95,105...).

With this setting, the cards would be valuable enough to make rolling capitals possible AND profitable.

All SMG has to do is tweak a few values for the cards to end the biggest stalemating problem in the history of this game! general_dab

Make it so that if a player does not gain a card within the first 3 turns they can not gain rank points. This is to prevent turtles who only play for second in order to gain ranking points without getting targeted by not having cards. There are at least two inaccuracies in the Europe Advanced map.

  1. The area called "Orient". By the definition it means "the countries of the East, especially East Asia". While that area is not in the East Asia at all. The proposed name change to match the area accordingly is "West Asia", "Western Asia" or "Southwest Asia".

  2. Denmark. It's more of a Scandinavian country than a Central European one. So the proposed change would be to remove the territory of Denmark from the "Central Europe" area, and add it to the "Scandinavia" one and then adjust those two areas troop bonuses accordingly if needed.

So for mobile users I have found out when you close the Risk app it makes you lose connection to the game with no ability to return to play. I have found myself to do this numerous times on accident and being forced to forfeit. There should be a 5-10 second timer after closing the app on mobile where you can reconnect and continue playing.

I'd like to see more player stats on the player page to contextualize their win/loss record better.
For example: Favorite map, Favorite Card Bonus [FIXED/PROG], Favorite Dice [BB/TR], Favorite # of players, etc. basically, what settings does this player prefer. Additionally, to be able to filter a player's stats by All-Time, This Season, This Week, or Today to help see how their current standing was achieved (their all-time favorite might be 6 Player Fixed, but they reached top 10 this season by playing all 1v1s, for example).

They are very useless but really give a huge disadvantage to the average player who will lose to someone without them on even with a huge troops disadvantage. There have been countless players quit this game because of a disadvantage like this. Got this idea from ssbu. If a player either goes afk or they turn off their system, for the first couple of times they do it give them a warning about not disconecting. Then if they keep on doing it block them for playing for a bit maybe start off with 30 minutes and then progress everytime they do it.

reset slider blitz after each turn. Also, we should fix the slider at the quantity of troops NOT the percent of troops. I think I speak for most everyone that we don't think in terms of percent of troops when slider blitzing. We pick the quantity of troops that gets us 100% or a fixed amount of troops when soft blitzing but x% of troops is not natural. It also changes the quantity at each blitz. With fixed quantity you can blitz the same amount of troops.

New variant idea! This is a variant that is played on a normal risk board and basically each player gets a certain “mission” to complete but no one knows what it is. The missions are for example "hold Africa and Europe for one turn" or "eliminate the blue player". Or "control 18 territories with 2 troops in each for one turn" this could bring a new dynamic to the game and would make for interesting tourney play.

Fix the recently announced dice that looks like rocky islands on RGB waters for each side. IMO, any dice that can't easily be read by a user should be fixed so you can read it properly. After removing stats the next step to reduce the noob farming is to force us select if we want to host a 1v1 game or a multiplayer game before hosting a lobby. If 1v1 option is selected, then you cannot add more slots for more human opponents, and if a multiplayer option is selected, then the minimum player amount to start a game is 3.

Smarter 1v1 noob farmers host a lobby with a lot of slots open, so this way they can suck an unsuspecting player into a 1v1 while he expects to play a multiplayer game. Before you could have kept the player with the worst stats kicking everyone else, but even though you cannot see stats anymore, it's still way easier to beat a non 1v1 player no matter what rank he is who you tricked into your lobby, over a dedicated 1v1 player who is specifically looking for 1v1 lobbies. This "exploit" really creates a negative experience for tricked players and needs to be fixed.

A lot of people are still confused if ranks of opponents matter towards Battle Points if you win, if you get Battle Points even if you don't win, how much do Battle Points scale in increase from the duration of the game etc... Like there is still a lot of vital pieces to this puzzle that have not been included in Patch Notes whatsoever.

There is also a couple of people who by passed the 2000 Cap threshold of Battle Points somehow, so I'm really wondering what causes this to happen.

More clarity towards this issue would make stuff a lot easier for all of us.

Alliances in fog of war should be changed so you don't see how many armies your ally has. As they currently are they give away more information about yourself than your mutual enemies. As a result they work better as a way to spy on and prepare to attack your ally than they do to attack anyone else.

: 2nd and 3rd favorite color: In the setting, allow to choose 3 colors: 1st,2nd and 3rd favorite color. So when you join a game, you get your favorite color. But if that color is already taken, instead of mass clicking to get the color you want wich can be at the total opposite of the color frame, before the host start the game or someone join, you would automatically have your 2nd favorite color. And if already taken, your 3rd one. So most of the time, you wouldn't need to change color.

Battle Point Track: Holes Fill the holes in the Battle Point Track, but only for Premium players. Like other games, like Fall Guys, where there is a season pass track free for everyone, but there are rewards only for people who bought the season pass. From SMG's notes on players disconnecting and being replaced with neutral territories:
"If a player drops out or rages quits (and does not return in time) they will be placed in the position they lose at when defeated as a neutral territory (see above)"

This will still allow players to unfairly improve their position by quitting, since the other players are unlikely to waste troops attacking neutral territories until all other human players have been defeated, thus giving the quitter a delayed defeat.

I suggest a slight change, such that when the game ends, the quitter be placed as "current last" at the point when they last left (rather than when their troops are defeated). Players that genuinely disconnect will generally not be affected negatively by this, as they are likely to rejoin quickly after any D/C. Player who rage quit and do not come back will be placed current last at the point they left (perfect). Players that intentionally idle out and check back in to see how the game is going will have a much harder time gaming this. At the very least, they will need to check in much more often, which will signal to the other players that they haven't really left and are a valid human target.

When playing 1v1's, reset the timer for the first player after he placed his troops last. I don't know why, but every time I place my troops while playing first, the timer doesn't reset and that can really mess up your game. I've seen this happen to my opponents too, so it would be better with this fixed.

I have 2 suggestions:

  1. Make semi-auto setup. That means territories are distributed randomly but then you get to add troops to your territories like in manual setup(so you don't control where you have territories but you do where you have more of them)

  2. Quest game mode. You get a Quest you need to complete and the first one to do so wins. Quests can be hold certain continents at the beginning of your turn, hold a certain number of territories at the beginning of your turn or take out one of the players (if the player has been taken out by someone else, you have to complete the territory holding quest)

New option for special dice It would be nice to add an option in the setting to show the numerical numbers somewhere on the screen when someone use special dice. If they use normal dice, everything is clear. But since the introduction of special dices, there's many I don't know what number it is supposed to be and I just have to see who lost what to know who wins. It's more fun if you can see, when you decide to roll dices, what you got vs what your ennemy got, and not just the results. And it would be an option, meaning that if you don't have trouble to read some special dice, you can just not toggle it on. But if you have, you turn it on, and then you can see the numbers next to the dices (except the classics ones/ variation of the classic with different color) to help you know what are the results

Skip AI in multiplayer games So if you go check on Risk 3.4 Update, in November, 2021: it says in UI Upgrades: Also : Skip AI in multiplayer games. But in july, 2022, it is still not possible. It would be nice if it was really in the game. Especially for endgame when only one human left with bots/ Zombies. It is so long and boring. By being able to skip their turn, it would make it way more fun. And since it was an UI update annonced in the 3.4 Update, I don't see why it shouldn't be in the game.

Rank-based lock on more difficult maps and scenarios

Quite often players find the last few scenarios in RISK too hard, which is demotivating for them - if these were given a "rank-based" difficulty (Recommended level: Expert) for example, this would let the player know that they should try playing Global Domination instead, can also have the option to "skip" this difficulty level with a popup "are you sure?" - which can be disabled once you meet the skill requirement.

Maps can have a difficulty rating based on # of territories & continents, recommended skill level helps to gently adapt players to more difficult / complex maps, without being blocked from playing them if they're adamant they want to play a 150 territory map as their first global game..

Overall it should help give an indicator to players how easy or hard levels are, which should in turn let them pick what they're comfortable with, when they're confident they can aim higher

Introduce Super Balanced Blitz. It would be like Balanced Blitz so just even more balanced. So then there would be 3 different options to choose from: True Random, Balanced Blitz, Super Balanced Blitz.

Context: (from my yesterday's 1v1 tourney games), it really sucks when after predicting your opponent's stack you lose the same number of troops as them, while in the next game your opponent loses quite fewer troops after predicting your stack, so like even 12 troops fewer how it happened in my case. So that takes away a lot of skill aspect.

Add more chat phrases to the game. You could just make the list scrollable, so it won't really take any additional space, if that's the biggest issue why we don't get more of them than 7 at any given time.

So far we have a very limited communication, and it's so hard to understand what your opponent wants or suggests you to do, and a lot of misunderstandings could easily happen.
