Example for what such a pathing map looks like:

I like the overlay of pathing idea. I dislike the idea of showing the percentage of troops the zombies have and how many troops they will add

That last part wasn't part of the main idea.

I was referring to providing general information about the way the undead add troops. This knowledge should be no secret.

#

You'd still have to calculate it yourself how much they actually will add.

#

Showing the % of troops the Zombies have in non fog games makes sense to me though.
The information is visible anyways.
Zombies in the fog is 100 times better anyways.

Wouldn't it be possible to just make it random?

I mean wouldn't that be the easiest solution?

I do not think any change is needed. The point of zombies is to predict well. Having a pathing map can help, but not as much as you’d think. “Secret knowledge” my ass too - just join the zombie server and you’re up to date on everything the rest of the community knows

Predicting the zombies adds another skill element, that would be lost if it were randomized.

I like it when games have a few little elements that reward going online and doing your research to increase your knowledge. (Personal preference, there’s no objective basis to this)

Would be good if pathing was more readily available outside Discord on places like Risk Wiki, Friendsofrisk, youtube etc. and SMG published the zombie code like they did for balanced blitz code. So those who want to go out and learn, can find the resources.

I always like it where all information about mechanics themselves are very public and in the game but specific weird tech isnt. I would classify how the zombies move to be pretty important to know compared to like how to execute a weird combo in smash bros
