Just played a game to do a double take on the Battle Log. Just my opinion, it's not too bad, however...

To make it clearer to view/read what if:

We split each attack log up, where attacking players are aligned off the left and the defending players are aligned off the right. Maybe center aligning the troop values. We show both player avatars, and again with attacker on left and defender on right. Basically this gives each player their own half in each battle log entry. We just highlight the half for the player who wins the roll for that entry with that player's color.

Maybe the game settings should be horizontal instead of vertical to make more room we may need for the entries. However, that may make them harder to read.

Just my thoughts.

Having them split would be nice, could even be a little similar to #risk_ideas in having avatar Name [Colour] but on each side

There's a few other battle log ideas I'd like to see too but want to make sure the ideas short & clear, for example:
Collapse battle log entries into Rounds
(Click on a round to expand it, by default the current round is expanded & marked IN PROGRESS)

One of the main things with Battle Log is that there's an entry limit (I think so it doesn't use too much space or memory?)
If instead you only store the current round and past round, when you expand an earlier round it queries server what the logs are & can just resend it

Another thing with them being grouped is you can also include some big things like:

  • Most Territories conquered - COLOUR [35]
  • Most Troops Killed - COLOUR [1294]
  • Most Troops Gained - COLOUR [126]
  • Most Troops remaining - COLOUR [13849]

So you can have a sort of summary of the round to give an indication of the leader (troop remaining), indication of who's the runner up to watch out for (troop gain), most aggressive / trying to conquer as much as possible (territories taken), most impactful (troops killed)
