Me and ace snow discovered the update.
It works however the update process is slightly weird
For some people, the build isn't compatible with their system.
For other people, it works with no issues.
Once you're done installing the update, first thing to do is check if the update installed without problems, so go back to windows update, and on the right hand side, click on "OS Build Info" and then check the version whether it is or isn't 2004 as it should be.

Hmmm.. Try restarting your laptop without closing the assistant, then check. The current build if it did not work or not, and if it didn't, run the assistant again (if it didn't run on startup already)

If you've done all the Windows Updates and everything is fine, and you use a SSD or Laptop, make sure to Run cleanmgr.exe (Disk Cleanup, choose Clean System Files). It will get rid of all the backup files it made during the 2004 version update. The backups show as Previous Windows Installation(s) and can take up to 21 GB or more space...

^^^ good point. But I wouldn't recommend running that until a week ish after the update, just incase something goes wrong, as Windows will then use those files to downgrade back to the old version.

this happened to me. The fix i used, was to download the microsoft update assistant and do it through there instead of windows update.
So, for all 3 of you, go to windows update on your pc, then update to build 2004. if you need help w that send pics of where youre stuck (and ping me) and i can help.

If you can't update to 2004 use the tool assistant, because it highlights what parts cause your system not to accept the update
Most of the time it's a driver being faulty so might as well try updating all your PC drivers before updating to a major version
