In order to simulate real race experience

I belive there is a certain chance for each race that it will happen

The level up system was a nice change on the other hand.

What I really like about SD is their detailed stats about your ranked career + you can watch back your older races from all players perspective or even challange the no1. as a ghost.

For regular matchmaking players are split into level groups so they get oppoents matched based on their experience. In ranked well... it's ranked, it tries to find opponents 1 rank above or below you and you can even invite your friends if they match this criteria as well.
