which basically means exploit the crap out of burst nitro

you have to know how to do it

it's easier in cars tuned to maximum grip so try to drive cars that can go above 80% when fully tuned for grip

cars below that can still do it but it'll be harder

anything that comes out of the dealership at 40% drift or higher should just be drift tuned

you have to start a drift by tapping the brake or gas (depending on your drift setting) without actually breaking traction

which lets you do this crazy turning, sharper than just turning normally
it counts as a drift and a grip turn, so you get burst nos twice - this technique is called "double-dipping" for that reason

this is the basic principle of going fast in unbound
generally I just do this around corners but if you want to step it up and hit WR pace you need to go back and tune the car for drift
then you do this on both turns and straights and maintain a level 3 burst nitro chain through the whole track
it is extremely difficult especially since one mistake means you'll spin, but it is by far the fastest way to drive in the game

and 9 obviously

the drifting is much more mario kart like instead of being loosey-goosey, im glad they changed that

and the nitro going out after a certain time and not when you run out of it is also weird

also the nitro pickups refill much less and there's no perfect run or anything to refill it every once in a while

and the non-nitro speed, at least on early cars, is like 60-70 km/h less than nitro speed (as in 210 non-nitro and 270-280 nitro in case of the tesla roadster)

and you need either triple nitro (which you can only activate if you filled your nitro bar either halfway or 3/5ths through or something im not sure) or adrenaline (full bar) to knock opponents down

not sure how similar 7's driving mechanics were to 6's, but they really did a lot of work in 8 to make it more approachable lol
