I really hope promos aren’t a fomo thing. At least have them be in a rotating shop after coming out. Or have their release be at a discount price. Then the discount would appear every so often with the unit still unlocked 24/7.

Similar story for me. I ditched subjectively more fun games for BN because it was a probably once in a lifetime opportunity to start right from day 1 and be better than 99% of the player base.

The difference is I am putting a pressure on myself to stay ahead of the curve and it is boring af in BN’s current state. Every. Single. Day is just BFC and promotion timer purgatory. BS1 was so boring even though it was my first BS. But sunk cost fallacy & the chance at being near the top is what’s keeping me a slave to BN.

I play because I have progress in it, but ultimately I am hoping for a better game. They say you should "vote with your wallet" and all that, and in most instances I agree. In the instance of BN, rather I leave now, or stay, makes no difference. There's no real gain of players. I wonder what the bleed is... I sink my money in every month, And then subject myself to the "fun" grind at BFC.

Ultimately even if I had the finished, 2015 product in my hands right now, I wouldn't really find it enjoyable. Well, of course the 2015 model was plagued by tons of monetization and while Madrona partly tries to skirt around this, we still have it. You're still buying nano units, you're still having to buy nanos. The games a fat money sink and currently I do that and get none of the fun.

No matter what issues there is because the boat, does have holes and barnacles on it, you're told to wait patiently. Well, I feel my life wither away as I play. What could I be doing that's... More productive than staring at BFC?... Taxes?

It's funny, every month rotation I watch as someone on my friends list goes inactive. I barely find time to do base assists beyond merits they're so lame. Currently I am up to 6 of 19 total friends I have quitting the game all together. 2 of those people, I added of my own volition everyone else was a community member that randomly added me.

I get they don't want us to burn out on content, but hell, I'd rather burn out on content then burn out on BFC grinding. I think some of the community has a new level of PTSD and it has to do with a very same spiderwasp formation. Currently the most enjoyable part of Battle Nations is bosses, and I enjoyed every one so far. Until the AS which demands grinding. Which demands my time, because the SP requirements are stupidly high...

yea it does feel dry lately. my main issue that demotivates me is having over 60 boss kills and not a single drop from anything. and i’m doing the as too, nothing from that. super lame

but even putting that aside yea the grinding in this game is boring. the repeat button is nice but it still boils down to the same repetitive garbage

That's another cool part is that the AS drops frags that are stupidly powerful and that's just gambling, but you talk to the community here and they'll say they aren't that powerful because actually the raiders that kill everything also kill them too!

The game is in dire need of balancing, which apparently is on their last list of operations. Eugh. So I get I'm wading through slop right now, but it's just... Bad! But you bring this up and the thread goes 3 billion comments into perpetuity. The AS is always a fun topic for anyone involved.

Even then, it needs to be changed at it's core. Some things just need to go. Some things need to be introduced. The rust on this game is cancerous, and it's so old you can taste the dirt when you play. Unless you've got more money than sense, this game is about as enjoyable as scrubbing yourself with steel wool.

The difficult part is we can all say this, but there's no unifying solution, and no matter what you'll get ragebaiters, stilly people, etc. It's pointless to think too hard about it you just kinda hope the devs have the ability to see reason, and not continue the perpituity of... This. Because. This is not fun. I don't even care if I woke up tomorrow with 100 ranged frags, I would still not be having much fun right now.
