Adxl345 on SB2209 board. Belt tension not officially measured - simply by feel. Measurement tool has been ordered.

Since it’s a DoomCube mod, there is no exhaust.

Hello

high folio
#

Hello!

tulip meteor
#

by feel is not a great measurement and usually way off

high folio
#

I have a gauge to be delivered tomorrow!

tulip meteor
#

the thing i linked is pretty much the best thing to get.

compact tundra
#

in the mean time, loosen both belts by a 1/4 turn

tulip meteor
high folio
compact tundra
#

I would be looking at changing the umbilical path

high folio
#

How so? Not through the motor mount?

compact tundra
#

take a look at the second half of the video

Small update. I toned down the accels significantly and it’s printing nicely. I am currently cranking out shop infrastructure for my little home shop on it so I haven’t changed the umbilical. I plan on getting my SW up and running this week to take some of the load and I will change the umbilical then

Printing is actually going well since I dropped accells. I was away this weekend and my goal is to get the umbilical fixed this week. Since it’s a DoomCube I found a nice Mod that will give me a gland and route for PTFE from the top. I just need to do it haha

tulip meteor
high folio
#

100%. Will keep you updated from now on!

compact tundra
#

It does not look like you umbilical have very good support. Are you able to use a galvanic bowden holder to support the umilical

#

also before you ran this test did you home and qgl, home z

high folio
compact tundra
#

What is your belt tension at?

#

I see by feel

high folio
#

No, I got a gauge. 10.94(N)

compact tundra
#

What is that in hz

high folio
#

1.65hz

compact tundra
#

That does not make sense

high folio
#

Figured it wouldn’t. I used the biqu gauge and their spreadsheet

#

I’ll do some digging tomorrow, re-measure and see about getting you a Hz measurement

compact tundra
#

The spreadsheet says 10.94 n?

#

Can you run belts test please and post graphs

high folio
#

Sure

high folio
#

So I just gave a decibel gauge a try, and when I flick the belt with the tool head at 150x150y, it peaks around 71hz

compact tundra
#

Let’s loosen those belts by a 1/2 turn each

high folio
#

Peaking around 66hz

compact tundra
#

I think we are going to have to manually walk it in

#

can you rerun belts

#

The gamma peaks are the ones that make me think the belts are to tight

high folio
#

Wow too tight? They feel super floppy. I can rerun belts, luckily I have some spares. Will not be tonight though

compact tundra
#

This is what is hard to convey. Belts at proper tension may feel floppy.

#

this is why by feel is not great

#

I am not sure if we are at proper tension or not, but I would like to see a change in the belts graph

high folio
#

Interesting…. Yeah, I have a run of belt I can rebelt the printer with and start fresh

compact tundra
#

there is no need to redo the belts

high folio
#

What hertz are we looking for?

compact tundra
#

110hz over 150mm

#

but that is unreliable also

#

everyone plucks different

#

I trust the pf makes tension tool because it can be calibrated.

#

this is an issue with the biqu and other meters like it. There is no way to calibrate it

high folio
#

Ahhh I see. Might have to go ahead and get that PF makes tool

#

I appreciate your patience and willingness to help all of us out here

compact tundra
#

no worries.
hear this @rugged ember I think we need to discuss my compensation.

rugged ember
#

Have you submit 5 things you did last year?

high folio
rugged ember
compact tundra
#

See @rugged ember we are more than you think

high folio
compact tundra
#

I would loosen the belts (not undue them) and start the tension over

high folio
#

Significant improvement. Turns out two of my Z-joints were super loose. The gantry actually shifted side by side after I loosened the belts.

#

Improvements here too

compact tundra
#

Check your tap magnets

high folio
#

I am using the dual magnet set up, and was considering going back to the magnets and screws.

compact tundra
#

I mean make sure that the magnets are connecting flush with each other.
that z compoent in x-axis means that your toolhead is wobbling left and right

#

generally this is the tap magnets or tap linear rail

#

it could also be something else wobbling in your toolhead

high folio
#

Replaced my TAP, here are the newest readings. Lost a few balls in the linear rail when moving it 😬

compact tundra
#

Is this still the CL tap?

high folio
compact tundra
#

can you take pictures of the left and right magnets please

high folio
compact tundra
#

your belts look off. Are you sure you have the same number of teeth for each belt

high folio
high folio
#

So as far as the tool head goes, could it be the umbilical gland I have attached to it?

compact tundra
#

Can you post and updated picture please

high folio
compact tundra
#

Sorry can you do the entire front please

high folio
compact tundra
#

that umbilical needs works

#

take a look at the second half of this video

high folio
#

Yup! I’ll get working on that this weekend

high folio
compact tundra
#

When you get it fixed can you provide updated pictures

high folio
#

@compact tundra

compact tundra
#

You just can't seem to kick that hump

#

can you check that all the screws for the toolhead board, and the konomi are secure

high folio
#

Everything is nice and snug all around

compact tundra
#

Lets print a cube and see what it says.
Use EI for both x and y and make sure to include damping ratio

high folio
#

So I need to figure it out

compact tundra
#

I would open a help ticket

compact tundra
#

looks good. I would suggest #slicers_and_print_help for more tuning

high folio
#

Seriously @compact tundra thank you so damn much for all the help

#

You too @rugged ember

compact tundra
#

Welcome

Nope.
Happy to share. - just remember the pay raise 😉

He will get pat on the back, e-card with "You did it!" and exceptional 0.6% merit increase, compared to usual coroorate 0.5 👍
