#[solved] Voron Trident 250 w/filametrix acceleration expectations?
28 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have re-run input shaper and results are pretty dissapointing.. Is this somewhat to be expected with Filametrix adds?
I was thinking on installing Vitalii CNC tap with 4 magnets with hopes that it would increase acceleration limits, is that even worth?
U have sweeping enabled. Please disable it and rerun all tests #1308097646786777108 message
Please also read the posting guidelines here #1308097646786777108 message again because u are missing a lot
We cant comment on anything unless everything is provided
Ok, I'll print cube tomorrow. I have all settings in my print config prior to installing filametrix and making other changes..
Voron Trident 250
Plastic TAP R8
SB2209 RP2040 ADXL345
Galvanic Umbilical holder thingy
Stock front idlers
24V all motors
Stealthburner + G2E + Dragon SF + Filametrix cutter + lever filament switch
Belth graphs: - I have not repeated it with sweeping disabled. but it kind of shows that belts are equal tension.
I measured belt tension with APP + I have this tensioner check / tire depth gauge thingy

Questions:
- Is it worth to consider upgrading Printed TAP to Vitalii CNC TAP with 4 black badass magnets? will that help with accel? My wish is to reach about 5-6k accel at least
- Is it worth to upgrade front idlers and to upgrade to PINs mod?
a couple things are sticking out to me...
- use zip ties instead of that coily stuff you are using
- can you take a picture of the left and right side of the toolhead please
- you may need to extend your umbilical more - will have better idea after the above pictures are posted.
- the 125hz spikes are likely toolhead related. May be due to umbilcial
Thanks! I had before the CAN connector even plugging out on its own, this is spot on comment.
So i made adjustments, used zip ties this time, given more slack to CAN cable, but I have not re-ran input shaper, i was thinking that this will have minor effect, and just printed the cube...
so other than CAN cable changes, is it worth to:

- yes it can help. But not sure if u will see a huge improvement. 5-6k with TAP and a big size printer is very very very rare.
- if u dont have problems, no.
Well my Trident is 250
TAP isnt made for speed
its made for reliability and ease of use
Ok, understood. Does my cube look ok in general then?
its your print, u have to decide if u are happy 🙂
from my point of view i dont see ringing
looks good to me also. Thanks for your tips and sharing your knowledge. This topic is solved 🙂
Thanks!
