so it's a high stake match for a spot at Worlds (basically the grand tournament) between two good teams Fnatics vs Misfits (one would be eliminated)
FNC is losing quite badly
but then they pause the game not once but twice for potential bug in the middle of teamfights
the reason for the pause was potential bug (it does look kinda sus but doesn't warrant the pauses imo, im talking as an FNC fan)
but right after the pause, FNC started swinging back hard
people are now calling FNC for foul play because they "broke" the momentum of the game.
FNC also had one prior incident regarding the pause which was also ruled "not bug" (which still looks sus) and they also reversed that game

the game is still going on

but when it ends, it's gonna be hell on earth on reddit lmao

I saw that the biggest complaint about Unite is how it seems to be pay2win, several threads pop-up in the Switch subreddit analyzing their rune system and how it made it look like pay2win. People even do the maths

like, yes, in the grand scheme of things actiblizz is doing absolutely nothing but like. first of all if the character blatantly named after someone involved in these allegations was not dealt with at some point, people would rightfully complain about that, but also like. the hell do you want the ovw team to do lmao they are not the people in charge of enacting change in the company as a whole, please direct your anger at the appropriate target. which is, yknow, the actual people running the company

i promise you we can care about multiple things at the same time

we can acknowledge this renaming stunt isn't enough and that ultimately this team isn't in charge of doing something more significant, these are both things that can coexist

and it's got crossplay too

and i bought it for my friend literally the next day and we already finished the whole base campaign in co-op

and he loved it - even though he doesn't really play classic FPSs like that

also - it's such a great remaster, holy ravioli
new sourceport, uncompressed audio, new models that stay 100% true to the artstyle, colored lightmaps, better lighting in general, all 4 different soundtracks included, 6 campaigns! , lots and lots of new settings, new easy to navigate menu, better multiplayer options, crossplay, split-screen, better animation interpolation and more
and all of that...

for free for people who already own quake on steam

also - Graven is looking so slick
this, Gloomwood and Ultrakill might just be the three most anticipated games for me now

i feel like this strain of quake is a niche that's not really going anywhere
people are still going to play it in one form or another, no matter how little the actual playerbase is

but the OG quake
the dark, creepy, eldritch quake never really got a followup

which kinda makes me sad

TLDR people are abusing Steam's refund policy to refund a game that's shorter than 2 hours so the dev is leaving game design.
