In terms of difficulty, how hard is silksong compared to other such games
And how much harder do other games get
Stuff like the dark souls game i imagine

I guess difficulty is relative to the game genre aswell since shooters or bullet hell games have their own unique type of difficulty but still

I'm a hater and a hot taker, and I don't think any of FromSoft's Souls games are actually very difficult.

They are primarily knowledge checks, each and every enemy.

Just platforming alone puts Hollow Knight above it in difficulty, but I also think the execution of combat is significantly harder in HK.

I struggle to imagine god runs (running all 6 core Souls games [Demon's Souls, DS1-3, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring] without taking damage a single time) in a series like Devil May Cry where you absolutely have the capacity to do no-hits but emphasis on moment-to-moment execution is much higher.

Now I'm soft, but I've got a few HK near-100% files under my belt and I already think Silksong is significantly harder.

silksong is a bit more fast-paced too perhaps.. so I think the difficulty honestly depends a lot on what type of person you are!

enjoying it, yeah. there's some stuff that's a serious pain in the rear (flying enemies if you can't thread storm them, hunter's march parkour costing me 300 rosaries really early, ||last judge ending||), but otherwise it's amazing. hornet is fun and flexible, though can be finnicky in weird ways that don't really add anything meaningful for being so tight (try ||dash|| into jump)

the 2 dmg is not really bad, but it would've been nicer if there were more ||masks|| so that hornet feels less stable defensively instead of just weaker. and ||beastfly|| is overrated (rather, bench placements are awful); it's very similar to ||splinter sister||, who I liked fighting because I nearly no-hit ||her|| the time I won

I consider those different things personally.. There is a difference between a puzzle you need to finish in that specific room vs a more map wide mystery riddle to solve in terms of clues and exploration
