this is the reason why i don't play pvp games anymore
sweat and toxicity

i can do both well enough myself, thank you very much

hell - this behaviour is why i stopped playing with randos in PVE games, even
cause i realized i was turning into that

like - there was this one match in kf2 where me and my buddy paired with 4 other randos and they were so bad in every possible way
from lack of teamwork, crappiest weapons possible, 0 survival skills, and perk levels and perk choices were all over the map

i was playing a medic and i ended up scoring the most kills
got the most heavies
healed the most damage (obviously)
won a few rounds solo AND killed the last boss
and some of those guys were like "oooohhhh why don't you heal us! trash medic" and so on

and i just freakin activated
went on a 15 minutes long swearing spree that would make gordon ramsey blush

i don't think i ever stopped once to take a breath between insults

even my buddy - a guy who's known me for 30 years - said that he never saw me being this salty

i killed the last boss (alone, obviously - i couldn't juggle doing 10 things at the same time while carrying the whole team), gave them the last "Screw you" and left the game and that's when i realized - i don't wanna be like this

i don't want to be this super mean sweatlord in multiplayer games
same way i wouldn't want anyone to be like that for me

so yeah - this is why i don't play multiplayer games anymore and that's why i feel like all multiplayer games are bound to devolve into this sooner or later @silk abyss

Not that its just a marvel rivals game issue, but this stuff is way too common. A "content creator" sees 2 or 3 comments on a YouTube video or form posts and makes a video about how "the community is having major reactions" because it gets people to watch it and more clicks is actual income for them. Then people watching the videos misattribute the opinions of a select few to be a general representation of a much larger fan base.

This game is going to die from its toxicity if they don’t do something about it and there’s already concerning signs of it happening

If soneone says ANYATHING in voice chat in ANY public multi-player game someone can/will use it as an excuse to bully/harass/target them. This could literally be applied to nearly anything and always feels like a 'clickbait style' argument.
Im not saying people who are female don't face discrimination.
I'm not saying people of minorities don't face discrimination.
I'm saying that in a publicity accessible game not everyone is there for the same reasons, and a measurable % of the people are there because it is an easy outlet for their compulsion to get enjoyment from upsetting other people.
Trying to say that this issue is a problem that is caused by a specific game, that a specific game needs to fix, or that is going to kill a specific game is a dishonest representation of the problem.

As the amount of players in a public game increases, so too will increase the % of player base who struggles with dealing with complex emotional situations. Leading to more cases of players encountering other people who have "extreme reactions" such as quitting matches or becoming upset at the actions of their teammates.
As well as the amount of people in extremely different situations outside the game, such as players who are only able to play a single match for the day so they want everyone to take it incredibly seriously so it isn't ruined for them, and other players who are on their 34th game of the day and still plan to play 10 more so they don't really care how this one goes.

It isn't that "the game is getting more toxic" just that there's more people playing games it as it becomes more popular. And more of a chance to run into players who will cause you to become upset or uncomfortable

At least that's the way it appears from the past 25ish years of online gaming history doing the same thing over and over. But meh just my opinion from observation. Everyone has their own experience. That particular video just had a very Oroboros presentation to it, in that it was complaining about how the community is complaining is toxic, in a very toxic* way(not offering solutions/alternatives/Data. Just saying 'look how dumb this is')

okay so my bet is that whoever made this mod accidentally changed the base body mesh just a bit when adding those piercings

like - your hand may slip or you might accidentally click something that makes a tiny change
so tiny you won't even notice it with your naked eye

After I finish Portal 2 possibly. This is a Portal 2 mod. I beat Portal 1 and started Portal 2. Probably going back to Portal 1 to try some of those challenge levels as I have a speedrunning history and apparently speedrunners love these levels.

this bit is always strange to me because I've never actually struggled with this 'puzzle' (its really more of a set piece anyways) without a second thought but I also know the 'portals can't move' rule

yeah i never even considered it as a solution because both p1 and p2 quickly establish it as an illegal move

I mean I think I can gather the technical reason (I imagine the engine would get real weird if you were to stand inside a moving portal)

and they wanted something more interesting than "press the 'destroy all the tubes' button"

Oh yeah that is precisely the point because technically it’s not that hard to make a map with moving portals

But it works mostly for small objects and lasers - player moving through moving portals has like a 50% chance of warping to the nth dimension and they were never able to fix that

But that’s not my point really

My point is that they wanted to make a set piece about cutting some pipes with lasers using portals, right ?

And they settled on this janky solution that breaks its own rules despite the fact that the game already has a thing for moving lasers!

Like - valves game design is incredible 99,9% of the time so this one single hiccup really stands out
