He had some very interesting insights and experiences to share.
A lot of people looking to invest in indie developers are just fixated on finding the next Minecraft or similar.
It didn't sound like a healthy relationship for developers.

Where you manage a facility for Mechs that fight against giant Kaiju monsters. Gameplay is all management of resources, storage, and research. Eventually progressing to using salvaged Kaiju parts for mech and facility upgrades.

aspyre is actually remastering TR4, 5 and 6
and yeah - at first this might make me look like a hypocrite
cause i'm usually dunking on remakes

this game is infamous for being buggy as hell and being just... straight up unfinished
and THIS is precisely what i want from remakes/remasters/reeditions/re--whateverthehecks
giving games with potential that failed at launch another shot
fix it up, polish it a bit and maybe - just maybe - it's gonna turn out there was a great game hidden there all along
... this is also the period in TR history where publisher meddling took center stage and absurd boobage spilled over from their promo materials to games themselves
it was a sad, sad period for tomb raider fans

oh yeah that's good
however if a remake comes along and has the audacity to be like "oh yeah we can do the same thing... but better than og devs" and starts changing the story, dialogue, voice acting, level design and so forth
nah miss me with that 💩
this is why im excited for MGS3 remake (cause it changes the only thing that changed all those years - the tech) and leaves the rest intact
while bashing SH2 remake for doing the stuff i described above instead of just porting the original game to modern hardware
with guy cihi and the pizza scene and janky combat
