I kinda grew up with bl1, loved it back then. But i really cant get myself to play it again. I always have bad memories about it, just plain deserts and so monotone. Maybe i am wrong. On the other hand i have SO many runs on BL2. Played it first on X360 and after that on PC for many many hrs. Still love it. I think the plot is just much cooler, and definitely the ending

anyways - few years later MW2 came along and it didn't have dedicated servers - all you had were lobbies and stuff
so people got mad and started a group that was supposed to boycott MW2
made a steam group with a whole bunch of people and what not - just to send activision a message

and - of course - it went just about as well as all other online petitions
meaning - it went freaking nowhere

...plus their spawn logic is still broken. The game picks one type of squad to spam endlessly every mission

They didn't fix some critical backend issue that prevents the spawn governor from mixing different types of patrols.

So roll a die. Will this mission be nothing but hunters? Only heavy devastators? Bile titan and scavengers? Spewers for days? RNGesus decides

It's never - "oh, these squads have heavy devs, those ones just have 30 normal bots"

Seriously though. Trust me. I've been playing with a Singapore PSN account for years, and I live in the Philippines, which has no official PSN.

All I did was put "+sg" before the @ in my email address to use the... I forgot what feature it's called, but +[text] basically lets you use your normal email address as multiple different ones while getting all the mail sent to the main one anyway. Nicknames or aliases or something.

It's just an arbitrary label so I remember what region that account is in.

I DID ask a Singaporean friend for an address I could throw in for a billing address, but, that's simply because I wanted to actually buy stuff using PSN gift cards, which is how we buy anything from Sony in this country.

If I didn't want to, say, if I just wanted to play Helldivers 2 on Steam and buy things solely through the Steam interface, I wouldn't need to bother, as far as I understand it. You don't need to have a billing address to just cheese the system for a free account link.

Hell, if you really want to, you can use some throwaway email address, password, and name if you're that concerned about Sony's piss-poor data security.

Literally just make it up. No one cares. Least of all Sony. The reason they don't support the rest of the world is because they have this highly traditional Japanese company mindset: Your currency is too weak/your playerbase isn't significant enough for us to invest in putting infrastructure over there. We don't want to bother having a customer support office, or a license to provide services in your country, or whatever because that would require risks and we hate risks.

But, they also don't mind having your money if you're the one who jumps through every hoop for them. So, they've had this tacit agreement to just turn a blind eye to all your region hopping nonsense. Just don't bother THEM, and pay them in American dollars or Japanese yen or any other currency they deem worth sufficiently more than Monopoly money, and they'll accept it.

Does Steam check for this? Nope. Never. Not once. I have a bunch of PS Studios games, all linked via Steam to PSN, and have claimed all the free stuff they throw in (because the goal Sony has is to inflate its PSN user numbers for the quarterly review, that's the play; they don't care if it's real people, they just want to add the Steam user count to their active player numbers for these games.) Not once has any game freaked out over me technically never having lived in the country my account is from.

VPN? For what? They don't even have a check to see if you live where your PSN account says you live. Just don't break the kayfabe by (gods forbid) getting Sony Japan's attention or whatever, and you're good to lie to the website as much as you like.

It’s a great .wad for newcomers

Which is actually a .pk3

It’s more of a walking sim 90% of the time

It’s really damn good

I highly recommend it

All you need is doom2 (get it anywhere - Id doesn’t care about it being pirated or not) and gzdoom - which is your one stop shop of a source port for most doom stuff

Even my TC runs on gzdoom

Anyways - myhouse is great for both newcomers and old school fans
THAT SAID - it does require some knowledge of doom and its history for some of the more… esoteric ideas it had

But you’re still in for quite an experience

you get boone (since he's one of the earliest companions)
you do your stuff, tag along
but make sure to stay neutral with the legion

and after all that they will let you chose how to deal with benny

he got mad that i was buds with the legion (hey it was stricly business - i still shot cesar in the face later lmao) and left my party

after that you get one chance to convince him that it was all mistake and you will never do that

...but then one of my 200 mods crapped the bed and ALL my standings with ALL fractions went down to the lowest possible value

making everyone hostile to me

and then boone still left me AGAIN

first of all - the companion AI mod

which lets you slow down time and give commands to your companions in real time

"go there and cover me"
"go that other place and take cover"
"pickpocket that one guy while i distract him" and so on

People that use Game Pads/Controllers for Steam games (like Hades/Hades II), what do y’all use/recommend?

Played Hades on Switch when it fully launched, but playing Hades II on my laptop has messed with my muscle memory and most of my deaths have been me not utilizing movement well because of the controls, and I feel that a controller would at least alleviate those problems

Fair warning. The switch controller swaps A/X and B/Circle (A/B xbox and X/Circle playstation)

So you'll have a little bit of growing pain to deal with using another controller.
