because now you esentially created two separate timelines

they just built in cheese as alternative solutions and some dialogue lines reflect that

A friend sailed solo to make portal near boss place for ease of travel
Landed and was murdered by mobs
Went back with a bigger team (including me) to get his gear back

In deep crap because we were using iron gears.
Spent one and a half hour going on corpse runs AND expanding our base in there

In that there are some things you will likely not succeed at the first time because you don’t know how to fast-track certain events, which can make a new game with an experienced partner overwhelming since they’re trying to hit those events
FWIW those soft failures made the game MORE special for me, especially within the in-game narrative of going from outsider and novice to community member and expert
