In theory I like these kind of directions instead of quest markers but in practice, the directions can be just so vague or boring (esp. if you have to read a lot anyway) that it doesn't feel good. Best implementation I can think of would be Outer Wilds I guess

i was flattening the mountain on some junk planet in search of coal, fiber and dirt for terraforming purposes

then we went exploring, beamed down on some poisonous planet, picked some poison for crafting and beamed back up three seconds later barely alive

then we found a weird mutated planet with actual avali camp, went on more quests, most of which lead us to a glitch sewer dungeon that I was absolutely sure was removed in release version of the game

went back through the darkness, wind and forest full of evil turnip things, died foolishly, blamed each other, quarreled, calmed down, returned

got back to the dungeon for another mission, were obliterated by some avikan guy with the rocket launcher several times, hired him, went back

#

built a huge greenhouse, planted almost everything the game and the mods offer, got some chickens, mooshi and fluffalos, hanged around

so istrolid enemy ai has a feature where if it is in your units range of fire it goes away from it and im currently abusing it by sieging a boss with incredibly long range artillery and it just doesnt engage so im gonna surround it and slowly make the circle smaller and smaller

I played the latter two, I really liked trsc which is similar to valhalla in gameplay premise only but I liked it much more, and essays on empathy is a collection of game jam games and such they’ve made over the years collected into one

On that topic, I 100% it but I really didn’t like valhalla that much, making drinks was not that engaging and I did not like the characters or story too much. I think the red strings club is a way better cyberpunk bartending game even if they’re completely different

The box has several different stances. While standing up with a vertical glamour girl you can distract the guard and open the box lid in a first person view by aiming and holding them up

Then you can prone with the box as seen in the video, and just crawl through it leaving it as a distraction for the enemy as you escape

in mgs3 you could play around with the radio and if you hit the correct frequency you can tell enemy hq to call off the alert. sometimes get this interrogating enemies

or sometimes you find a frequency with music, and if you just listen, snake will recover hp and stamina iirc

the ovw thing is fascinating to me as someone who never cared about ovw bc on the one hand i can understand that the scope of what they aimed to achieve for ovw2 grew to a point where they realized they could not feasibly deliver in a timely manner, which is not inherently an issue. but the problem is they came to this conclusion nearly two years ago and.. just never said anything until now. so people that held out hope all this time were doing so in vain, for something that the devs already knew would never come

I'm still salty over hots. As someone who really does not like mobas (I tried both LoL and Dota 2 and pretty much hated them) I really enjoyed it, and with some breaks in between, I played the game since open beta almost to the end. One of the few online games that I liked.
