That's the point it crosses from being about the gameplay to being about the grind, because someone else takes the gameplay portion away
eh
yeah i get you
i just wish KF2 didn't... didn't waste it's potential like that
dunno if you played KF2 @rancid token
I played the first one a bunch, 2 didn't really grab me and there's a bunch of Nonsense about Tripwire that makes me not want to for Reasons but I've heard good things
yeah - about that
KF2 was god tier at launch and for about... 2 years after that
but watching this game going from being my fave online co-op game and one of the most tightly designed horde shooters ever to just...
this bloated mess full of disjointed ideas and clashing mechanics was like...
it was like watching someone really smart and talented you knew at school turning to drugs and wasting their life away
and then you meet them few years later and it's like what the hell happened to you?
and then there's this whole drama
"we're not gonna add microtransactions" then it's like "we added microtransactions but only for cosmetics" then they tried to back away from that like "ok we heard you didn't like that so we added ANOTHER system on top of that so you get other type of currency for other cosmetics in game completely free" but then went in again "yo guys we're putting DLC guns" then heard the outrage again "ok we heard you so we're gonna add reskins of current guns for free along with the DLC" and then BACK AGAIN TO "yo we've got a season pass now"

and with every update there was just more and more and more and more and more crap people didn't ask nor want which just derailed the experience (quarter-pounders and E-dars ruin the experience for me)
and with every new thing the quality kept going down and down and down...
and then there was this whole twitter drama with the CEO and like a dozen different companies get in on the project to keep it on life support and it's just...
it's a mess
THAT SAID
the main composer for KF2 - zYnthetic - is still all sorts of based
had a chance to exchange a few emails with him over a year ago
really nice dude
i hope his future career after KF2 goes well
you know what?
all this kinda... kinda makes me wanna go back to KF2
as bloated and hard to run as it is
i wanna cosplay bayonetta and dual-wield 4 guns at the same time again
cause... it's a thing in this game
and it's as dumb as it sounds
I'm a big Warframe fan and have played it for far longer than I probably should have, but yeah it took me several tries to get into it
people really aren't kidding when they say the tutorial is 100 hours long
no joke lol
the story and visuals get wayyy better after that point but until then its just ok
this is one of the reasons why i dumped over a 1000 hours into KF1 and 2
sure - the "normal" difficulty ||(which seems "hard" at first but is actually "easy" when compared to the rest)|| is the tutorial of those games
but you're having fun from the word go
right away - the music kicks in and you're minutes away from getting all the cool guns and so on
the game plays it's best hand right away and just goes "see all this cool stuff? this is what we're gonna do from here on now - only faster and harder as you progress"
tbf gameplay wise Warframe stays the same, if you weren't enjoying the "kill hordes of things, craft new item" loop nothing changes there
yeah it's the same with KF2, but...
what i'm talking about is the ratio between "kill stuff" and "get stuff"
Wait warframe is a horde shooter?
the only overarching progression system in this game is the classic, the good ol reliable experience system
gain experience, level up abilities and gain confidence to tackle harder challenges
but all the cool stuff is always within your reach in a single match
which lasts about 30 minutes
the cool guns, upgrades, different crossperk stuff, random bosses and so on
it's just so varied it will take you hundreds of hours to experiment with it all
for the most part
but you can still get to the top tier stuff in just half an hour
you know what i mean?
also
the gore
best gore system in any shooter ever, hands down
it's been 6 years and it's still the best

oh hey - apparently the christmas event just started
and apparently... it's good?
people... like it?
huh
i wouldn't call Warframe's graphic design bland, it's quite the contrary.. very very complicated
which is not too good. i'm not sure if i like designs that are impossible to draw by any normal person like you and me
somebody told once, if cartoon character looks simple enough to be drawn by a kid, than it has a good design.. i think, it fits to adults with a difficulty correction
and sometimes difficulty is too high for anybody but artists who put years of practice into their skill
i mean - there's a reason why TF2s character design stood the test of time
i think the phrase you're looking for @twin yarrow is "visual clutter"
probably
i mean - don't get me wrong - those robutts look great
with lots and lots of intricate details and fancy colors and such
like, i've tried to draw a frame once, was that Rhino? was not able to get all that squigglies right
but few days ago i got bombarded with a big pile of screenshots of different robutts from that game it's just...
it's nice, it's got style
comparing to.. oh god
but sometimes i just don't know what tf am i even looking at
bring what?
am i ok? anyway
i could get those details much easier
i mean.. destiny and warframe are too compared these days
this design is nice
i like it
but yeah - this talk about character design kinda brings me back to that content bloat in KF2
cause enemies in that game had some really neat designs - they all were distinct and easy to identify even during the most blood-soaked 6 player matches on SUI
buuuuuuuuuuut then they started adding more and more variants that are distinct in behaviour but similar in looks
and it made the game harder
like the edars - that game's robutts
there's 3 of them - one of them shoots rockets, other - lasers, and the third one can lock you in place from 50 feet away with his magic bullcrap trapper beam
they all require different things from you - you either run or gun
and it's hard to make that decision in a split second cause they all look the same and i don't know if i should either run or gu-
ohwait im dead
that makes me think about Deep rock galactic
i can't really think about some design downsides of it.. even when you dress all you dwarves in similar almost identical outfits, the main color difference still persists
and all the enemies can be easily determined just by its' size and main featuires
maybe i can think about one.. Compressed gold can be hardly found due to its faded signs, but its much more valuable counterpart is bright as new year tree
which is supposed to be vice versa?
never played deep rock galactic and...
after watching a stream - i don't intend to just solely because of the dialogue
yeah im that petty
ah, the joy of video games
where art thou ?
no but seriously - where's...
where's the fun?
have you seen it anywhere @twin yarrow ?
i can't seem to find it
kekw
I miss playing Planetside 2 Titanfall with my online friends :<

there are too little real masterpieces that make you really emotional after playthrough
i mean - yeah
Solar Ash and Sable both gave me some light feelsā¢ļø but nothing crazy
Still chasing that saving zulf high
destiny's ghosts and titanfall2's titans are the best companions you can ever have in life, change my mind
but sometimes you just wanna shoot a zombie in the dingdong with a quad barrel 6 gauge shotgun and watch him do cartwheels over the next three adjacent states
i miss KF2
Sorry

im just having fun here, don't mind me
oh hey
you guys remember when amir and greg streamed pyre a while back?
or was it hades i don't remember
can i watch that again anywhere?
the hades streams were on steam i believe, so nowhere to watch them... and the pyre streams were on twitch before pyres launch so i believe theyre long gone

ok im a liar, hades streams were also on youtube
and it looks like the pyre stream is up too :D
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/148347336
Does anybody know any games like borderlands like looter shooters I mean but with fun and colorful visual design not like destiny and warframe
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/148347336?t=0h11m13s
is this how it's pronounced?
nier enjoyers, should i get nier replicant first, or automata?
imo replicant, since its chronologically first in the story
that depends
if we're talking the OG replicant... eeeeeh - you can skip the game and watch some lore videos and jump straight into autopotato
but i've heard the remake replicant fixes some of the gameplay issues and makes the game... a bit less painful to play
so if you've got that then sure - play it in chronological order
im assuming were talking about the remakeplicant, because og replicant was only available in japan
ye
replicant it is.
also, keeb+mouse or controller?
probably controller
i played kbm and it was fine but its up to your preference
god i can't even imagine playing autotomato with kmb
automata though, definitely controller
yeah
even though i used kbm....
it gets fast
this kinda reminds me of that one time back at uni when my roommate tried to get into dark souls
he started with DS2...
mouse and keyboard...
on a laptop that CHUGGED at 720p
it was... borderline painful
tomorrow is literally in my hands
i did the most tedious delivery ever
2 pizzas that have to stand horizontally or else they get damaged
and a champagne i can only hold in my hands
that means no vehicles
and had to use my speed skeleton on the highway
at least i got a cool handgun :3
i have... numerous questions and things to say about this post
1 - tomorrow... is monday
i don't want it in my hands, i don't want it anywhere near me
2 - what sort of pizza has to be stacked vertically and what does it look like?
3 - what sort of dingus orders uber eats from the other end of the country?
4 - why do you have to hold that bottle in your hands?
i am... utterly confused
nice pics tho
oh wait - i misread number 2
still
- It's a delivery for Peter Englert which is just literally Higgs
except it's an empty shelter
- Extremely fragile
- taking heavy advantage of the classic "30 minutes or its free" deal
oh my dear lord
so, uh...
i was looking up stuff about frostpunk
i'm kinda interested and might check it out
i knew it gets... rough
but i just didn't know it gets this dark

games rarely touch on subjects this delicate
i've heard that the game is very buggy but idk how true it is
yeah it was at launch but apparently it's way better now
has anyone played pillars of eternity deadfire?
yes, but that was long ago, soon after it launched. haven't played the dlcs
would you recommend it to an entirely new player with no previous experience and only into turn based?
i haven't tried the turn based mode, tbh. only played the game before that came out. but i'd venture to say that its not the best game to start out with in that regard. it was originally only a real time with pause game: turn based mode was added later
for turn based fantasy rpgs specifically, the two divinity original sin games are pretty fun
i have played dos 2š
first one's pretty good too, though your mileage may vary if you played the 2nd one first!
OF COURSE THEY DID IT
Souls fans on their way to ruin AC
and yes just like Gloomwood enjoyer's previous comment
cue the dark souls of mecha games
That's the cheapest physical version available, look at the Switch one
I donāt have a switch so

HOLY MOLY SPCIY GUACAMOLE I FORGOT HOW GOOD this game is

oh i hate smt4a. game seriously just watched me spend days creating a perfect team and then just deleted all of them and threw me straight into a horrible boss fight alone.
it's going to take so long to recreate that team
i did not know that, but it's super fitting! hope Larian will work on Fallen Heroes again after they're done with BG3, would love to hear more of Malady's story
dang it, dad
got to dad on my first day
In about 4 hours, give or take

im kinda proud of myself
oh, the joy of video games, where have you been?
Wait you've been using mkb for Hades?
Whot
Also someone come play Darktide with me

thanks
No, life sim
I want a pokemon stardew valley cross where you can either raise a few pokemon to help you out with stuff or ranch pokemon in particular
god please let larian resume work on fallen heroes please i ask for so little
I was talking Japanese RPGs with a friend and I just realized that the only SMT game I unequivocally liked was Devil Survivor
I have no idea what it is about SMT in general that turns me off
Overwhelming amount of demons?
not enough style?
Demons jumping in and out of each game, swapping races or arcana when they do appear?
it took me 4 hours to realize SMT is not a genre, but series
brain, hello, pls respond, over
š§
one day I'll actually complete smt5
This is where talk about games other than Hades, right?
Non Supergiant Games games, yes
This is the place where we argue about genre names
I can't post images. Is that just me?
post the link of the said image
Thatās the 40k game, right ?
Yes.
im just waiting for it to be finished
and waiting for the real gem
Space Marine 2
Wait what do you mean ?
Itās EA?
just fatshark laziness
Yeah.
Me: This game is disgusting and raw.
Fat Shark: More, sir?
Me: Yes, please.
Seriously, it's such a fun game ruined by trashy... everything else.
It's unfinished and predatory. But man the gameplay itself is awesome. Why can't they get the easy part right ffs. Just finish your effing game before release man.
Game as live service is a heresy that will be rooted out, a cancer that must be excised in the name of the God Emperor.
Iāve been saying it for years
YEARS!
high on life is so annoying OH MY GOD
color me surprised
smt series is great but its main flaw is that its nOt pErsoNa!! that every time you think they have stopped with the worst of their demon designs they show you something worse and you just have to put up with it
and ig also if you're not a fan of games that do not like you being able to beat them without tearing your hair out
The witcher 3 new gen update just released as a 46gb update on steam
Oh so itās free for everyone who already bought the glitcher 3?
Yes
The Glitcher 3
Thatās super neato
I was so looking forwards to that update im so disappointed by the issues
Canāt Even run my settings pre-patch on more than 20fps
I have a 2060 so it shouldnāt have any issues running on old settingsš¤·
this might not be relevent, but I'll ask anyways, what cpu do you have and what resolution are you running the game at
just finished it takes two, absolutely loved it. its so creative and fun. however.... i had a severe minigame skill issue it seems
Intel Core i5 and 2560 x 1440
I had run the game on ultra settings playing it the past week with a solid the previous Max of 60fps and now i canāt even Get above 30fps on high settings without rt
Yeah Iāve heard this new version is pretty borked
Can you please be more specific, intel i5 tells me nothing
I've read similar things of peoples fps getting basically cut in half with the new update

This is on the test branch of the game, an optional version with some balance changes that the devs are considering. Visit the official SGG discord to find these (the changes that matter here are a buff for Zag Bow from 10% crit to 15% and Shattered Shackle going from 80% to 100% damage).

I stuck with 5
GODS
i almost forgot just how much straight, no bullcrap FUN Hades can be
when it's firing on all cylinders
darren's going all
, jen's art is all over the screen, greg's witty writing making me laugh and so on
oh - every second is a joy
well besides the witches circle
that thing can get caught in a live telephone wire for all i care
but still - i never thought grinding a 100 hours long roguelite FROM SCRATCH could ever be so fun
Games whose visuals I want to eat
see also: mirror's edge, viva piniata, all SGG games and doom eternal
yes - doot eternal
i like meat, i like spicy food
this game has it both
Viva PiƱata. Games whose visuals I could eat irl
I want to eat FEZ
Literally me
Driving with one hand while anxiously holding the other on the shifter O_O
ON THE NORDSCHLEIFE
BOMB IT!
gotta make the man in my PFP proud @ocean iris
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx1ESSwNXB0&t=104s&ab_channel=incT
Simply a skill issue
bomb it!
Now riddle me this.
The Nurburgring has a hard corner called the youtuber corner and many cars end up crashing, yet I easily clear it in Assetto
Curious!
does it still have that one corner where someone spray-painted a giant dingong on it?
No idea but it does have lots of spray paints
Bro it was scanned 7 years ago š
yeah but that thing was there like 15 years ago already
Bruh.
then I gotta check
You know I cant really look out for sus graffittis on the track while Im 200km/h losing control of an McLaren F1 GTR
@forest osprey about perfect games, moving here to show off my rate
you can embed images
I have 6919 achievements (nice) 19 perfect games 33% completion rate
So way less than you lol
I mean I got more achievements
Gottem
But that's prob cuz I have more games than you
also gottem
lol unfortunately i have a bit more games, i just havent played them all yet
but you 100% hollow knight which is super hard so you win
ah
Lol yeah
I got up to hornet on my first run
gave up rage quitted
8 months ish later
went back binged it and then binged the steel soul
i never finished it, didnt get very far
hmm idk how i have twice the amount of achievements then you then
with half your rate
just finished nier automata ||ending e|| and honestly have no clue what to think
also i couldnt do it properly cuz im emulating the game on a mac and ||couldn't get the online feature to work š so i just watched a playthrough on youtube after finishing endings c and d||
the soundtrack has no right to slap as hard as it does tho
Nier automata is one of my favorite games of all times
||tragedy online didnt work for you, that is alot of what makes the ending so great||
Oh no
I recommend playing replicant
will probably play now after finishing automata
took me a while to finally get around to finishing the game because i really disliked 9s' hacking playstyle
Also
What sort of Mac do you have to be able to EMULATE Nier far whereveryouare at a reasonable frame rate ?
got a new mac with the new m1 chip last year for college
runs nier at around 25 fps during combat usually, not ideal but kinda playable

yeah i didnt do much hacking when i first played. more just hitting the enemies with my baby sword until they died
playing with kbm didnt help
but the game kinda forces you to get better at it eventually, and i think its okay now
I kind of hated hacking at first too
but then I put a lot of upgrades to it
and just one shotting everything
even an enemy 10 levels above me
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/best-of-stealth-encore-bundle
good bundle, bc echo is good
Hitman 2
Itās worth playing just for the Isle Of Sgail mission at the end
And everything else, of course
Itās great, but itās held back by its god awful DRM
so after hades 2 and melinoe were announced i looked at my planned pokemon violet team and
So what PokƩmon is zagreus?

cannot recommend heat signature enough
especially if you have steam friends who have also played heat signature in the past
I need multiplayer game recommendations
Coop or PvP
PvP
Play League bro
I don't play very many multiplayer computer games
But other than chess
Defcon is one of my favourites
It's quite dated but still has significant traffic, at the very least enough for a few sessions
Defcon?
Like league of legends?
@dire condor I don't know if anyone has ever told you but-
You're kind of a psychopath
Defcon
Come for rts goodness
Stay for existential dread
The only rts you canāt win
You can only lose the least
Speaking of multiplayer games and existential dread
Try csgo
Thereās a lot of traffic - obviously
Lots of content and different modes
Some of them even arenāt sweaty
@dire condor what sort of games do you like?
I'm not the best at FPS
Mostly indie games and 2d platformers and roguelites
See - hereās the problem
All PVP games get sweaty eventually
Indie platformer PVP
Duck game?
Fr, with brawlhalla I started of casual now I get really heated in ranked
OOOORRRRR
you could hook up with the guys doing the weekly online PVP matches
Theyāre running a pretty cool crew
I don't think I've heard of duck game
one of my favorite things about rivals of aether having a small community is you can just drop in on streamers streaming and play with them sometimes
I mean, I get bodied
but its fun
What genre
If it's a platform fighter I think I'll like it, but brawlhalla is the only platform fighter I've ever played
its online is.... questionable.... the matchmaking is heavily skewed towards people who've put hundreds of hours into the game
I used to hate fighting games until I found platform fighters so I'm open to trying more out
Depending on how expensive I might have to watch a review or two
Yeah, regular flighting games are not my forte, but rivals I actually used to be half decent at
even won a set in a tournament once
sucks that I actually have to practice at it to be good X'D
me trying to hit cancel or reverse air rush now is emarassing
I'm tempted to download genshin
its p okay
Sifu I think is the one fighting game I'm interested in atm

My buddy is a competitive BlazBlue player and whenever I watch them play I'm like
I'll keep it real with you my dude. Idk wtf is going on š
i play a lot of guilty gear and the secret is that the players don't know wtf's going on either
I'll have to post their stream in promo someday because I'd imagine it's a real blast for actual BlazBlue fans
They also used to play Smash somewhat competitively but BlazBlue took over
I tried to follow the BlazBlue story and I also idk what's going on
i already did like a year ago on PC
but this time i managed to do the main story in one, single 9 win streak
without skipping heat
gamepad rail my beloved
oh for the special? yeah you just kinda pray
yeah i got it on R1
and fire is on square
which is so ass backwards it's unreal
all scooty-shooty gaems have fire on shoulders and reload on square
but here i have to have it completely backwards and it's messing with my muscle memory
also - rail with zeus on attack is still as busted as i remembered it to be
and with reload on R1 i moved interact to L1
which screws with me too - especially in styx
every time i get poisoned i run up to a fountain and start reloading my gun by accident while taking poison DOT
and since L1 is interact
i had to move the codex to... R3
and thus the cycle is complete
codex on r3 is what it deserves
Can't you put attack on r1? Always found that more natural in games. Allows thumb to press dashes or jumps and stuff
What video game do you think is the most overrated
For me it's witcher 3
I think Witcher 3 got the reputation it deserves.
The game was genuinely fun for me. The story got me hooked for a while. I finished it 3 times.
Overrated game for me? Minecraft.
Combat is awful in witcher 3
Very basic (not in a good way), unrewarding and unfun
Boring side quests as well that are forced upon you (which goes against the term of side quests)
Pacing in general is terrible
I was bored too many times
Mediocre graphics even for the year it was released in
Clunky movement
Both for geralt/ciri and the horse
No depth in enemy mechanics
They are very limited and bland
Below average soundtracks
They even use same annoying soundtrack in all cut scenes
Doesn't deserve 800+ goty awards at all
Yet alone being called a masterpiece
Bad combat, mediocre graphics, below average soundtrack and a decent story
It's only decent in one department
7/10 at best
Personally would give it 5/10
A masterpiece is a game that excels in everything
Like Hades
On maximun difficulty, light hit and jump back, thats all you need to kill bosses on Thw Witcher 3.
Lol
Going from games like Hades, ps4 Spider-Man or Arkham series to this is a massive downgrade
But anyway
That what I think about the game
HOOOO BOYE
do i have some examples for you

and so on, and so forth
im joking, of course
kinda, sorta
||just a little bit||
most of the games I play aren't too overrated, they're more of.. "ye they gaem"
Never really got the appeal of the Xenoblade Chronicles games tbh, those really look overrated to me
based
You know
Iām watching the noclip doc and it got me thonking
You know how most SGG trailers start with stuff like āfrom the creators of bastion and transistorā and what not?
This list is only getting longer and longer
I wonder how long till they run out of space, drop the whole thing and just start a trailer with āYou know who tf we are.ā
Honestly Red Dead 2 is the most miserable slog I've ever played
I don't think many other games have actively pushed me away from wanting to play it just by how it handles
And I've played a lot of trash
GTA V also doesn't control well, to be fair, but the sheer animation density in RDR2 just compounds on the issue
(Not to mention the atrocious working conditions needed to apply them)
So, I'd say Witcher 3 too when it comes to overrated games, but not for the same reasons as above. I find it to be quite beautiful and the combat system is okay-ish (quen is just quite stupid). But, what the hell is up with every level 12 quests giving level 8 loot, stupidly high level foes in low level areas, and weird balance stuff like this? Like, yeah, I did spend half an hour and more on some monster because quen allowed me to do so, but it wasn't fun. And idk, if there's a big golem with a lot of HP I'm considering it's not a bad idea to kill it, I just need to never get touched, that's doable. Why does it give loot far below my current level even though I should have been twice my level to get a fair fight? I feel like the game is a really bad way to do an open world for those kinds of reasons
This is a bit disingenuous. The gear the character is wearing is not proportional to the difficulty of the game, which is why that sword does so little. Also the player used to spell, no potion, no sword light/heavy attack mix, no bombs, etc. It's like ignoring most of Hades combat mechanic like cast, special, dash and complain that the game is only running around spamming attack move.
Also, the cheese tactic of fighting everything hit and run can be applied to almost every game. If you want to cheese the game that way, you do you. But it's usually not representative of combat.
Since you posted someone cheezing the game with low level weapon to show how "tedious" and boring the combat is.
I can in turn show you this, which highlights the combat instead.

This was the best boss fight I've ever had. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Difficulty: NG+ Death March
Sidequests are mostly optional. Though they can impact your endings. But that's like every RPG, doing more sidequests generally leads to a better ending. The only thing that is tedious in my opinion is collecting all the Gwent cards in the game and beating everyone. But that is completely optional and have zero impact on any ending.
I find the pacing to be acceptable. The problem I have is actually that the game is so open you can possibly miss triggering sidequests if you go a different route. If you are bored then yeah that's fair. I won't try to convince you to feel otherwise.
Graphics is also up to personal taste. I think Toussaint is one of the most beautiful area in video in general.
Absolutely agree in the horse movement though. That thing sucks.
Enemy are varied but their attacks are relatively tame, I do agree. You fight the same swordman AI in level 50 as level 1. But the game makes up for the many different bosses you can fight I guess.
Soundtrack is phenomenon for me so idk. It's fair that you find it mediocre. I don't. My favorite

Marcin PrzybyÅowicz - The Fields of Ard Skellig
I really need to play witcher 3 past the prologue at some point
tried 3 times but something always stops me
some days i wonder how much thought the mh rise devs put into the afflicted mechanic
- forces you to target body parts that, depending on weapon and monster, sometimes are completely unreachable
- often forces you to target the body parts with the absolute worst hitzones. and ones that bounce you.
- multiple monsters have their own fight gimmicks that want you to hit certain parts. like the rakna-kadakis or garangolm
- so its either. hit the arms and fail a dps check and die. or hit the legs and fail the other dps check and die. great thanks
- at some point everything can just twoshot you even with the tankiest builds possible. and the speed and aggression buffs mean you can be twoshot in two seconds
still better than half of what world was doing at least
playing Sable :3
Tell Simoon I miss him.

Replayed the ending of cyberpunk with the arasaka path
Honestly I like it more than the nomad one, but unfortunately judy leaves town without v

another nice bundle
Ooooohhh
Thereās some good stuff in there
Pardon me papa
Ducks
Hedon: apply directly to the forehead
A-medieval
good stuff
lol good stuff
I'd also add to the combat: the point of being a witcher is not fighting swordsmen and bandits (which obv you can do and they will attack you) but to hunt monsters and do witcher contracts. So in reality, does it matter if human enemies are diverse in their attack patterns? You'll most likely be fighting either a pack of monsters or a mini boss for a contract or side-quest (on the other topic I find side-quests in that game to be fairly interesting, sometimes even more so than the main story; compared to games today with a bunch of same quests)
Also most of these contracts aren't "go there kill monster" but have either a twist to them or a sad/gruesome backstory
I haven't finished witcher 3 either. Started a new game twice and got up finish the baron story arc, but then stalled for some reason
I was quite a fan of witcher 1 and 2 too
Witcher 1 was a game where i cant sleep thinking about how the story will go
guess who reset his rhythm game progress cause he installed a mod that CLEARLY had a warning in it
it's ya boi
fluffy

I don't mind the costumes and such, but I dread the unlocking part
good news is, there's a mod for that
that doesn't brick my saves
this looks great: https://opencritic.com/game/14102/chained-echoes/reviews
@wraith cradle did you end up playing it? if so, how do you like the final product? heard itās got some kinky bugs still
Save editor to the rescue?
Bruh Im playing as we speak
I'm personally loving it, it's hard but forgiving, has lots of content, the art is great, the combat is tight and the story is nicely done and written
appreciate the feedback, iāma go buy it then:)
I need a couple mil to hire a PMC

@dire condor
Holy crap cyberpunk nomad beginning is so much cooler than street kid
It
It has an iguana
I need a new game to play now that I've beaten Ixion
a friend suggested lil gator game but it looks a bit too kid friendly to be interesting
C-can i recommend 13 sentinels (switch/ps4)
Tfw I'm immersed into the game so much I get gender euphoria from how my character looks
I realized recently that I get a lot more gender... euphoria isn't the right word but my preferences in characters maps to my gender preferences a lot
and its interesting
i would think that was the norm(?) when thereās a character creator involved i never play outside my gender
for example, in Dota my favorite character is Puck, because they're mobile and very hard to kill and tricksy. There are other characters that fill that role some who's playstyle I actually may like better than puck, but I don't want to play QoP, Storm Spirit, or Void Spirit
oo which game?
i feel like i usually feel gender envy instead š
nintendo news app has a list of 'challenging games' and i think i might explode laughing at half of them
- skyrim
- fortnite
- smash bros
- persona 5
The app store has a sad daily news article and there was an 'article' explaining you how to get out of a hole in minecraft, including the advanced techniques of ladders and jumping and placing a block under yourself
somebody got paid to write that
Target audience for those articles are kids and gaming journalists. Stop making fun of them please.
cyberpunk 2077
Not the gaming journalists š
what historians in 2022 A.C.(After Coronavirus) will research:
Huh, maybe they have discontinued those articles, can't find the section anymore. Too understandable, finding topics every day for this sounds rough
Is hades the best game of all time for you or you have another game in mind
transistor (biased because transistor)
World and atmosphere in transistor is just so amazing
Risk of Rain is getting another entry

oh it's that ror1 remake they were teasing

It's apparently the remake
yeha i'm wtaching that rn
i've asked many ppl "have you finished skyrim?" and the answer was "no" 95% of the time
i believe with fortnite and sb the number will be even higher than that
something tells me
although the answer depends on how you define finishing skyrim
I spent like, half an hour finding this perfect looking horse in breath of the wild and taming it
and like, 10 minutes after I finally get it saddled and stuff it gets blown up by two guardians at the same time ;n;
Its okay... Dont dwell on it
Remember to appreciate the beauty still around you.
Such as the heartwarming camaraderie and teammwork displayed by the two guardians, and see the world is not so bad
||or find the horse god||
"Appreciate the ephemeral and the beautiful or ||find god||" is painfuly accurate
I wanted to, but I really dislike boss fights (which this kinda is all the way through I guess) and didnāt even finish the tutorial fight :(
v good music though!!
how boss fights are awesome
I like more of the normal enemies in bigger quantities more haha
yeah but furi is epic
true! to be fair, I tried playing it around 4 years ago and didn't know how to use a controller either so maybe it's better now...
I just remember playing Eternal Redneck and Desync having fun playing and dodging around the small enemies and then a boss fight appears that you can't circumvent and it's 'oh no'. I like the Hades ones though. Maybe because I'm surprisingly okay at it š„“
Furis controls are a thing to get used to the gun being on the joystick scares me
I'd like to play Furi someday just for the soundtrack. By what i've saw on streams, it's not the same to listen to it outside of the gameplay
when it changes dynamically, it makes all the compositions at least 70% cooler
Why play furi when you could play crypt of the necrodancer
well - not angry
i'm beyond that
i'm just... tired of it all
i am getting so utterly and completely DONE with videogames and all it's bullcrap i might seriously drop all of them altogether and pick up a completely different hobby just to separate myself from this stench
Hard Reset loves its cutscenes so much that it has a 'press any key to continue' prompt that also gets triggered if you use a volume wheel :)
help, I'm in love with an accordion playing bird person
me when someone starts praising mirrors edge catalyst
The Huntsmen seem to have some new tricks - and they're ready for you, Doctor.
eeaaaaAAAAAAAAA!
midnight fight express has no reason to go so hard
innovative gameplay is when you play as cat
Thereās baaaaarely any gameplay in stray
Iām not bashing the game, but itās got gameplay innovations on the level of Soma
If anything - this award should either go to neon white
Or teardown
My votes on teardown
same
I love teardown
they got ray tracing without the need of RTX cards
????
4 games that look insanely unique then this generic ass lookin game
spiderman seems really great, but i dont find it that visually impressive
it looks just like any other video game really
Also I was scratching my head when I saw Death Stranding there
But then I realised you can play it on the deck
Why's Death Stranding so popular on the steam deck?
unironically there's more gameplay in walking in death stranding than stray and they both get called a walking sim
I thought they put death stranding there as a joke
āOn the goā
Cause youāre just walking there

Hahaha
stray isn't a walking sim, stray is a platformer >:|
I'd call it a cinematic platformer, like Inside
Man I really want to go vote now but I'm at work
- the suffragettes
innovative gameplay
stray and m&b2
stray was so overhyped lol
Dont ask me on MB2
some games were just made to be great on the go
rpg's, borderlands, sandbox games like DS too
usually the ones that are rlly addictive
i like mount and blade 2 but its not innovative its mount and blade
its a fairly chill game when its not being a movie
probably perfect for playing in bed or on the couch or whatever
My urge to finish all the highways
Yes.
The Half Life missions and the Cyberpunk ones are worth it but the last rewards are always just holograms :(
So when the game came on PC, Steam, they did a half life collah that includes some missions of you finding portal companion cubes
for delivering each one you get cool half life themed gear
I got the gordon glasses, gravity gloves (which are functional and lets you grab objects from far away), then a valve that you wear on the back of your head (lol), a lambda truck and a headcrab hat that restores stamina in exchange for blood
Replace baby with companion cube
since im 2 euros short to buy isaac repentance should i buy cult of the lamb or do u guys have any other ideas
is ffvii remake worth it
on sale definitely i loved it
never buy games for $70
the FF7 remake is barely worth any price
it's a 1/3rd of a remake of a 25 years old game that not only will require around a decade of waiting for you to get the whole thing
in three separate purchases, may i add
but also will require at least 2 separate consoles to play
or a chonky PC upgrade
by the time it's done
it borders on being a scam
a 25 years old game that - for at least 20 of those years - has been sorely overrated too
I mean 7R not being a complete game is just flat wrong, that's pretty common knowledge at this point
Whether you want to buy into a planned trilogy is a different matter, but that's like saying Fellowship of the Ring is a scam because it's not the whole story
Story is 33 hours and full game is 86 hours
I'd say it's plenty
ok then
so it's a remake then., right?
i mean - it says it right in the title - final fantasy 7 remake
did they remake the whole story of FF7?
simple question - yes or no
Shrug emoji
It plays good and I like the story changes but understand why people don't
And I also super wouldn't pay 70 bucks for it
like - imagine if RE1 remake came out and it ended at spencer's mansion
no lab - no nothing
or RE2 remake ended right after first birkin fight
people would torch capcoms offices
so wait - let me get this straight
they cut out, polished and padded 1/3rd of an over 20 years old game and sold it for the price of a full one
and people say it's fine because... they changed a buncha stuff?
i sure as hell can't wait for a Breaking Bad remake
i'd love to see it end right after season 3
wtf
if you like this remake - that's fine
you do you
but let's be honest here - this reeks of corporate greed and you know it
The og ff7 is a pixelated old game
The remake is basically a new game from scratch
And 33 hours for story is huge
Most AAA games don't have so much
So as standalone game it's up there with the good ones
"Remake" doesn't really fit though
Who cares
i do
I mean nothing I'm going to tell you is going to change you mind so I'm not really going to bother?
or maybe you just ran out of counterpoints?
listen
im not here to argue
i don't want to be this mean old a-hole or whatever
but this game is not a remake at all
it's one of the most cynical examples of milking i've seen in video games... ever
and there's a lot of milking here
and i get why people enjoy it
they enjoy those characters, and want to spend more time with them (among other stuff)
which is fine
i suppose
but this remake is a remake in name only
at best it's a fanfic tier retelling of an old story that completely switches tracks at the end for... reasons i don't even want to speculate about
If you say so bud, I'm not interested in going rounds with you on this
i mean
let's talk broadly about remakes, not just FF7R
what is the point of a remake anyway?
it's to... well - re-make an old game with new tech and design standards
to make an old story more palatable for newer audiences, right?
of all the dumb debates in supergiant games discord video games channel, "is final fantasy 7 remake a complete game" is certainly one of them
also accessibiliy for newer audiences. Some of the folks playing games now weren't super conscious for the playstation
exactly
but as far as im concerned derailing an original story and steering it in a completely different direction is not a point of a remake
that's not what a remake does
that's what fan fiction does
no but its 100x more interesting since they did it
after all how can it be fan fiction if its the creators writing it
Would you be happier if they called it an FF7 adaptation?
like - ok
imagine if the upcoming MGS remake got to the psycho mantis scene and then veered off in a different direction, story wise
and then ended and asked you to wait god knows how long for the other part of the story
which will cost 60 or 70 bucks again
you see what i mean?
that would be hilarious
they should do that it would be the most metal gear thing ever
yeah it's more like...
alt-universe ff7, you know what i mean?
like
am i crazy here for thinking that?
You didn't look up what's different, did you
i think ff7r and its weird attempt at deconstructing video game remakes, whether you personally think it does it well, is so much more interesting and exciting than if they just made "ff7 again"
(which btw would still be three parts because the sheer scale of making these games is much more than the original)
Every time you tell a story its a little different or a lot different.
like its one of the few remakes that manages to not completely replace the original game as the way to play it
I went through this with the Expanse, everyone complaining that the shows didn't follow the books, who cares. They're different adaptations.
yeyeye
exactly
that is my point
you folks used this word a few times now
"adaptation"
so it is not a remake
Take your prescriptavism to the prescriptavist store and get me a fixed understanding of language
even if adaptation doesn't entirely fit here either because...
well - it's not adapting a story from a different medium
is it really a #video-games conversation if we don't descend into absurd semantics
it's the same medium, but whatever
Wouldn't it be wild if something intentionally titled itself Remake in order to play with the expectations of what a remake is in the story itself
how crazy would that be
yeah, sure
ff7r does that, especially at the end
but here's the thing
a really, really big thing
how long people have been hyped for the final fantasy 7 remake?
long enough to get put into the game as a direct example of "people who never want anything about the story to change ever"
like ||who do you think the ghosts are supposed to be|| lol
im sorry, but people have been hyped for the FF7 remake since the early PS3 days
that's a long ass time
and then suddenly the game comes out - with a REMAKE in it's title - and it goes like "lol your opinion doesn't matter here's a different thing lmao"
that's kinda...
dissapointing? insulting?
i don't even know what's the right word for that
Mfw Death Stranding is getting a movie

kojima finally living out his dream
kojima finally dropping the pretenses
Yes but I enjoy ludo more
iirc they said its set in the world of death stranding, not just an adaptation of the game itself
which makes a bit more sense
Daniel Radcliffe
hope they don't call it a remake
We are not homo spectare man, we are homo ludens
not with that attitude
cause it won't be a remake
I mean to be fair it's probably just something for the more sane people to get into the universe
Cause the game is not for everyone
But Im hopeful Kojima 100% will stay by his homo ludens philosophy, since after all it's GAMING but fancy
just running through hyrule looking for one goddam flint and I keep dying
cuz stuff won't leave me a lone
which zelda?
botw
oh you mean the windwaker remake
-_-
English is kinda broken
Rip
well that was fun
it was a good burn, i'll admit
what are people getting in the steam sale?
RoR2 is good
my partner keeps on wanting to play Gunfire Reborn and I'm like, "OK, but when we're done can we play RoR2?"
I play for Plamt Rex

iām deciding between a few games - unreal life, unpacking, i am dead, exo one

I've heard many good things about Unpacking
It turns out

I just really love the characters and the writing it has
playing it looks stressful though
Yes ngl
oh christ almighty
good morning
i've got a question
a viddy question
has anyone here tried emulating the first armored core game?
on ps1
BRO
fallout 1 2 and tactics free on epic
Looks like I have no excuse to not play them
tactics seems epic
it's actually the weakest of the classic "trilogy"
it's still a good game, don't get me wrong
but i would recommend starting with FO1
but timer :(

Revali's gale is nice and all but its invalidating of so many puzzles in the overworld....
I felt something similar after building ziplines everywhere in death stranding kek
you can keep climbing up cliffs in the rain if you want

i don't think you can properly compare the two but ff7r is the only one I've finished yet so I'll go with that
It doesn't invalidate if you forgot you had it

I played pentiment through gamepass, finished it, it was pretty good
Anyone played Citizen Sleeper? Is it worth $14?
@wise cedar Oceloctopus won't you try Lobotomy Corporation
As for citizen sleeper, well the setting and the themes I find very familiar. Nothing groundbreaking. It depends on how immersed you are in the role of a fugitive. Personally I think it ends a bit too quickly and doesn't delve deep enough into the setting, but disco elysium indulged me too much in leading to that perception. It was a nice experience. Feels were had. Felt too short
Potion Craft looks interesting
i tried citizen sleeper on game pass when i had a free month but never got very far, it was sorta interesting but didn't keep my attention
Playing high on life rn love the voice actors
refund cult of the lamb to get subnautica below zero or nah?
if i refund cotl i might get it in the summer sale again
Below Zero is pretty mid tbh
The story stuff is neat but the environments are boring, the resource spread is frustrating, and the seatruck is pretty lame compared to the Seamoth and the Cyclops
Death Stranding will be the next free epic games game
100%
If true, Im gonna be so happy cause I wanted to get director's cut on steam but I can go on epic and transfer my normal saves from xbox gamepass
And how do I know? The symbol on the mystery game is a Q-Pid from the game
oh nice
nearly bought it on the winter sale since i didn't get to finish it when i had a free game pass month
nice, iāve always wanted to get the game but was afraid i wouldnāt like gameplay
Same but I tried it and couldnt get my hands off it
I want director's cut because the extra content is awesome
It just clicked my buttons
I downgraded my controller from DS4 to DS3 I have lying around
Cause if I continue playing rhythm games with the DS4, I think I'll break it
Surprisingly, lose few scores but gain more accuracy
I'll take your ds4 into protective custody
lost it on ||R2-D2|| moment
eric cartman taking a crap on the teacher's desk will always be funnier than anything justin roiland ever did
nice death stranding directors cut is free on epic
guys should i refund cult of the lamb to get something else or not because it only has 14 hrs of playtime and not alot of post game content
Witcher+DLCs is 10$, RDR2 is 19$
ac odyssey is 15$
Depends on what you played. My first playthrough of these three games were each 100+ hours long
I got Hidden Deep for 8 euros, great indie game but it's early access and it's not really for everyone
wanted to get rdr2 but decided to get fallout 4 and cotl since it runs terribly on my 6 year old laptop with a gtx 1050
@shadow glen
should i get it anyways?
get dwarf fortress you can play that game forever
Do u think hades is the best game of all time
why settle on one š if you can have multiple š instead?
Have a herd

Anyone here use steam
I got a question
Can gta 4 and their dlcs run on a MacBook Pro
Yup you can
Ohhhh
You get what I mean @ocean iris
Well there's a tutorial
4 votes and 13 comments so far on Reddit
Check out this thread.
I have a 2020 MacBook Pro
Well it should be easier then
So idk if it works for that version
It probably would to be fair
So Iām frickin worried
Check out the top comment
So I canāt use steam?
Well you gotta use a virtual machine to emulate windows
sooooo it's going to be lots of work
Yeah idk if it's worth the hassle
Thatās why I donāt know if using parallel or other methods is gonna break my laptop
I never used it before
It wont, it's just really complicated

fair
